I wonder if such scrutiny would be applied to ol Ratchet if it was on my preferred plastic and silicon. 😂

Insufferable.

Oh what's that Spence dog? Oh right we need 12.2 litres of vanilla sunset juniper massage oil to lather up dem buns mm though in practise we'll probably just squeeze out 8 litres, still slippery 😘

Tripolygon Tripolygon no matter what you do or say, Sharkie the Fudmeister will not stop, he is alt account that joined only last June. You are here since 2012, I'm pretty sure you've seen plenty of these xfans who were permed and created new alt accounts hijacking thread with their garbage post from your time here since. As you know they don't last long, and these trolls just move on to another alt account once they are permed. I say don't feed the troll, it's not worth your time and effort.

Hmm seem's this dude is also very accurate in his analysis. Very intelligent. :pie_eyeroll::pie_eyeroll:

Not sure about his comment, but this post was talking about tomorrow being possible as well. Pretty talkative all of a sudden.

... Shrinking down to fireTV size? So Lockheart has gone to 5nm? 5nm is small enough to be a handheld device, right?

I'm still not seeing the point of SS no matter how hard I try. Although I do still think it makes more sense as a handheld device than SX's baby brother.

Low-spec baby version of SX seems like a dead end. I see it as surplus to requirement if it is simply a less powerful Series X. The XB1X can fill that product gap considering its a mere 2 years old, and MS have made the mandate that all their first party games will still run on the launch XB1's for next 2 years.

If it was an XCloud only streaming device, like a PSTV, how is that much better than using Win10 app to stream games on HDTV, or a phone using XCloud having the additional portability aspect and could still screen mirror onto TV?

So from 13.5 to 7.5GB? Are they serious? PLease cancel this thing.

That article was from back in June. Is it still holding any kind of weight/truth?

No game will reach 10.23 TFlops. That's the theoretical max of the system and is only obtainable in the most ideal if circumstances. Depending on how efficient the PS5 is it can get pretty close. Same thing for the XSX because saturating all the CUs perfectly to reach 12Tflops is impossible to do in real life. Just a theoretical max.
Dude. This is the second time. I was joking. Come on now.

Well, wait a second. That doesn't say 7.5GB of 'usable RAM for games,' it says usable RAM, period. So does the OS still take more of that 7.5GB pool or DOES it mean that the OS takes 1.5GB of RAM so the total RAM in the box is 9GB? How the heck do you get 9GB RAM in a box anyway? I'd think it's more likely to be 8GB total and the OS will take whatever chunk of that is needed, leaving the rest for games.

I get the idea of the Lockhart. I just think this is going to HURT, MS. It's likely, IMHO to cannibalize the sales of the much more expensive but also much higher PROFIT MARGIN XSX. Die hards will definitely get the XSX but I'm afraid the average consumer will say...'why not?' and go with this instead. I think it will also lead to the perception that the PS5 is much more powerful, especially when the load times, etc. are seen by those consumers.

I mean time will tell. I just really wish Microsoft was not (seemingly) so schizophrenic with their strategy.

It'll have 10 GB total. 2.5 for OS like Series X.

Ok, that would make sense. Gee...I wouldn't think that 6GB of GDDR6 would save you much $$. Obviously it does though...of course depending on what the price of the Series S will be. I'd think this is meant to take over the $299 slot the Xbox One S currently occupies though.

On build cost, Lockhart should be ~ $150 cheaper price, plus if its digital only to push Game Pass, it can be an extra $50 less (or even $100 less of they want to take a loss.)

So Series S should be at least $200 less than Series X. $600 and $400, $500 and $300, etc

Those reasons are weak.

1. Buy a PS4 or Switch and get better exclusive games.

2. No Xbox exclusive has ever been nominated for GOTY at the Game Awards.
32 games over 6 years, not 1 of these so called "actual games" has even been nominated, let alone won. This year will add 6 more nominees, making that the 38 best games of the last 7 years. None exclusive to Xbox.

3. GamePass costs twice as much as PS Now. Lacking most of the high quality current gen games, costs double. Not a great value.

4. Xbox Live is no better than PSN. Now Xbox Live costs twice as much PS+. Free to play isn't even free on Xbox. Cross play is removing any need to stay on Xbox to play with Xbox friends.

Xbox will need to do much better in the future.

1). See the other points.
2). What a lame metric to base anything on. So some suits choose what you think is good? I assume you only watch films that win best picture? LOL
3). GP has a good number of current gen games that rotate through, PSNow is primarily PS3 games with a sprinkling of PS4 content thrown in.
4). Familiarity is a thing. This is stickier than you think.

See, we can go back and forth on this all night. :messenger_beaming:

There's also the fact that XSX will likely be widely available for a much lower upfront cost than PS5 (and if the past is any indication at 0% interest). Something to be considered in the midst of a pandemic.

You probably never played a PlayStation game lol
