Too bad Metal Gear Solid Remake won't be announced on that PS5 event... Might as well start being dissapointed right now. :(

Sure but im just comparing the original MGS from PSX to the GC version. They went overboard with slow mo action and cutscenes direction.
I know what you mean. Running up a missile that a helicopter shoots at you made me groan. In the original, it was tense battle that ended with Snake using a rocket launcher. In Twin Snakes, it was that stupid "missile run" maneuver.

The Twin Snakes was fucking awful, even Kojima disliked it. I'll always love the PS1 original and I have some amazing memories of it, but some things are best left in the past for the greater good

Twin Snakes is a pathetic disgrace of a game. Ruining literally every great aspect of the original.

I would love a great new mgs remake, but Konami will never do it.

MGS1 is a classic, but in a way, it's gameplay was perfected in MGS2.

MGS3 would be a far better choice as it hasn't already been remade, it's also quite a lot longer. Maybe they could even combine it with Peace Walker.

The best choice - which we'll never get now - is a game during WWII with The Boss as the protagonist set in Normandy.

They technically remade MGS with Twin Snakes for GameCube. It was a big project at the time and they didn't earn quite as much. I don't think they wanted to go back in and do it again. It would be something highly unlikely due to the rough business with Kojima and Konami, Konami not showing much interest anymore in their older franchises, and for the NTSC / PAL fans...we'd need the original English cast back again and an enhanced soundtrack. It's asking a lot and not impossible to pull off but so much has gone on since the game's inception.

If there's enough support and Sony sees money worth investing into a Legend of Dragoon remake; they'll do it. That game was amazing and has never been ported. Right now, Sony (or Atlus???) is working hard on perfecting the remake of Demon Souls and so it could be some time before they get around to Legend of Dragoon. It's about finding the best games to present prior to, during, and shortly after launch day. That's another reason why some of the remakes may need to hold off temporarily.

Exactly. The best thing about it were the visuals, which is the ONLY thing I'm referring to when I say at least we have that, haha.

A proper remake would be amazing, but yeah, never would happen unfortunately.

All I hope for is to someday get the Legacy collection on new consoles, with mgs 4 finally running at 60 fps.

It is a crime that a series as important as MGS will potentially be stuck on the ps3 console generation forever.

The magic/lightning in a bottle of the first game won’t ever be recaptured by a remake. Even TTS ruined more than it improved. It’s best to just let it go and replay the original when you feel the itch.

Twin Snakes was great, a remake would ruin it in far worse ways than any of the nitpicks people have about the former. Trust me on that.
