I think for the first time in 19 years of the MS-SEGA rumors, I'm bracing myself for the possiblity of it being halfway true. I really, really, hope it's not though. TGS following so closely behind Bethesda-gate, Xbox going first at TGS, and HFX stating the news isn't over, yeah... I'm cautious to say the least.
I don't think its happening. it's just a masterfully planned homage

that being said, I'd love a new OutRun

And when you're trying to fill Gamepass it won't be. Bethesda fits Microsoft's future plans. We are not going to get ultra high quality Sony style games on a subscription service. That's why I'm hoping consumers continue to support Sony's way of doing things. If we go to an all subscription model, I will likely lose interest in gaming.
Well... I think you can be calm about it.

You could scalp it then.

This the UK. Xbox dont sell. Its 3rd place here. A 2nd hand switch would sell near retail price here.

Bethesda, used to have great games, they still have some good games. Yet Sony goes for another approach.

Don't know about used to be. They were hot in PS1-4 era?? Shout out to zennimax for a robbery sale 7.5 billion.
lol shit cost more than Marvel.

They had Quake!!! That shit died quickly huh. So Doom is the last of the dusty FPS shooter guy to fall off. Duke Nukem ,Unreal ,Quake. All gone Only Doom left. Imagine having this line up. And I only played 1 of them games (borrowed). When you line it up. Shit is mid as fuck. This is even deceptive as Elder scrolls is appearing 4 times, fallout twice,. So its really just 8 games mid level games.

Maybe their next gen offering will do better. And make top generational game list. But overall Its fantastic robbery from zennimax. 8 IP's for 7.5 billion. Almost a billion per IP. Phenomenal.

According to a current report from Ubisoft, Assassin's Creed: Valhalla, release on November 10, 2020, will not only run in 4K on the PS5, but also with 60 frames. And full 4K resolution, as you emphasize, which you can expect. The days of checkerboard 4K should be over for now. Although, there is always a balance between resolution, frames, how nice the game is and how stupid - or not even stupid - the AI. Based on what has been played, the AI seems to be on the usual level and even if Valhalla is optically a small jump to the predecessor Origins in places, there should still be enough of the new console power left to be able to present everything here in 4K60. Meanwhile, every TV buyer in recent years has a 4K TV.

Assassin's Creed is said to draw further advantages on the PS5 from the fast SSD technology to shorten loading times and the Tempest Engine for better sound. So no big surprises, it would be bad if not.

Ouch. So if you want to charge 2 controllers you need to fork out more money.

I don't know if it is just me, but every time I think of a control pad (in this day and age post-Wiimote) without an integrated rechargeable battery I get the picture of cars when people used to have to run in front of them with a flag to warn others of it coming - it is so old-school.

I know some people defend this design by having spare batteries on-hand to quickly swap, but surely everyone in rechargeable land just has a 2nd controller permanently plugged in to the console on charge, no - to switch pads when one is running low?

When Japanese people use their arms to make a big X across their chest, that’s the gesture for wrong, or not allowed. The Japanese word for this gesture is “dame” (だめ), which means “no” or “not allowed”. If you’re answering a question and the answer is wrong, this gesture can be used as well, along with the word “batsu” (ばつ), which means “incorrect” or “false”. There’s also an emoji of a woman doing this gesture on iPhone!

Lol, geez guys, settle down! I snagged it for my nephew!

Then just say you got it for Nephew, there are people that do shit like that, purposely. Its beyond fucking disgusting. Purposely buying up stock just to so they make a profit or reduce their own costs, while at the same robbing some real gamer of their purchase. I am not rich at all, i know what it is like to save for a year, only to see some fuck whit come on and pull shit like that

I might lean blue but i am a gamer first, and so should everyone on this forum be like that.

Nice to see that you bought your nephew a nice present.

If you care about the quality of games, you had better hope Sony continues to dominate the gaming landscape. The Game Pass model removes the consumer from the equation. With the current model we have the option of not purchasing a game if it isn’t polished, buggy, or doesn’t provide the content we desire. In Microsoft’s model we move to a “you get what you get model”. There might be a large variety of games, but the goal is to produce content not quality content. Look at their latest example: Halo. In the current model consumer pushback is forcing Microsoft to go back and fix the broken mess. Fast forward 10 years and we’re in an all subscription model, you can bet your ass that it’s releasing in its current form on the scheduled date. Yes, there will be competition within the subscription model, but content providers will be focused on quantity not quality. The days of games being delayed 6 months to get that last 10 percent of polish will be over. It’s not a gaming world I’m excited about.

I expect it to be 60FPS on PS5... but this article is claiming Ubisoft reported that without linking to anything...

The Ubisoft PR only mentions Xbox, likely due to some marketing shenanigan's (or the fact PS5 launch date I believe wasn't announced yet)

This feels like someone writing an article based on that NX Gamer tweet lol

Netflix approach is like asking NASA scientists to share 95% of their salary with the rest of the population. Now it's a bit funny, gamepass feels like fitting a communist approach with devs, while PS5 is doing a capitalist approach with devs to some extent.
Exactly! I just wrote a post about this. In Microsoft's future, there is no reason for a studio to polish a game. We will get buggy unfinished releases as the consumer is removed from the buying process. You get the content in what form MS gives it to you. If Halo was going exclusively to Game Pass they would release it "as is".

But wouldn't it prevent the bot scenario at least? That's my point.

Yes, paying full 100% price upfront here to most of the shops to secure the preorder, and of course you can pull back if you want to get your money back. They sign your name and phone number as well. So far for the first time since Atari 2600 scalpers couldn't overprice a console. It's a glorious era, I think.

Atari 2600 initial price: 1000 OMR back then ($2600 USD)
PS1 initial price: 1000 OMR ($2600 USD)
PS2 initial price: around 600 OMR ($1560)
PS3 initial price "60GB": 800 OMR ($2080)
PS4 US copies leaked here in November before official 1st of December release: 450 OMR ($1170)
PS5: 215 OMR ($559).

Thank you Sony ME for handling it like a champ!

Note: Those are final prices, no VAT here "yet".

Apparently people going the All Access route in the UK are getting their credit scores torn to shreds

Power your Nightmares

:messenger_tears_of_joy:

More people having their credit killed by All Access

Why are you financing a console. That's an L. Gaming shouldn't be priority. You could just put it on your Credit card. And pay it back piece meal. if your that desperate.

The fact people don't know that when you set up finance- deal. The systems do hard checks & your credit score gets effected. You don't know this you shouldn't be financing. The terms are outright told to you before hand.
Straight up goofys.

Wasn't there a rumor few months ago that sega is going to release a "Sega XBOX Series X"? This rumor wasn't true then, but it's strange that another similar rumor is out now...

That’s not going to happen.

Sony coasting on PS4 success instead of aggressively building on the back of it will be their undoing.

MS is making the third party landscape smaller for everybody, and they have an army of first party studios. I expect 2023 onwards to be mega years for Xbox. They have the studios, they have the money, they have a low barrier of entry, they have gamepass.
Low barrier to entry = low quality

Guys do you think buying PS4 games like Valhalla and Dirt 5 (and others) that have the straightforward next-gen upgrade path will allow you to earn trophies two times?
That would be so cool tbh.
What are your expectations here?

Here's a scenario I'd love that will not happen:
I'd love for Elder Scrolls 6, and possibly Starfield be available purchase only on Playstation 5. Microsoft makes money. These games available for purchase or through Gamepass on XSX. That way, The game is available everywhere, and MS gets their money.
I think that's smart business. I can think of so many reasons, and even comments that Spencer has said which would be an argument for this. It will not happen regardless.

$70 game
remove Sony Cut?20%
remove distribution, retailers. ad etc 25%?
revenue Microsoft 100% minus 45% = 55%
55% of $70 = $38.5

Going Xbox, PC exclusive, $70 game
remove distribution, retailers. ad etc 25%? = 75% revenue Microsoft
75% of $70 = $52.5 (+36% higher revenue per sold copy)
times 1,000,000 copies = one porsche taycan turbo for every employee
