Xbox Series X hands on previews are live

Always enjoy upgrading my PC and revisiting games to see how much better then run so nice to see better performance with XSX.

Might double dip on NieR: Automata while it's on sale as it doesn't stay at 60fps even on One X.

Before I call bullshit that gif I want to ask to Xbox owners.

Is the menu that fucking slow to open in Destiny (the right gif)?
Because if I compare it with the experience I have in Destiny and Destiny 2 (over 2000 hours combined) I should say it either:

A) In being slow down.
B) Exclusive lag with Xbox Destiny.
C) Made up comparison.

The main menu is very smooth and fast on PS4.
Yes this is something which I find annoying when I played D2 F2P last year. So yeah it's accurate.

Thanks for share... I should never play too many hours of Destiny and Destiny 2 if it was like that... weird issue on Xbox versions.

Destiny’s 2 menus suck on consoles. Especially when you want to change a gun mid fight. Ridiculous lag.

I was amped to see some real impressions of next-gen hardware, only to get the same old it loads faster/quick resume demo on old games, with some added nice framerates.

We get it Microsoft. We got it after the third time.

I want to see the stuff I’m actually majority buying the console for. I really hope that’s the next embargo, and this is part of a slow roll-out, or I’m seriously going to wonder if game development is indeed having trouble behind the scenes, and this BC stuff is a play for more time to get it ready.

I have an external SDD on my One X, it's maybe twice as fast as the gif on the right. Destiny menus are sluggish AF on Xbox.

Sometimes it's that slow on my PS4 I feel...I always thought it was due to networking things though. Not every time, but occasionally I might hit a load time that long on PS4.

Loading Final Fantasy XV on the Xbox Series X took around 13 seconds. On the internal storage of the Xbox One X, that same loading sequence required longer than a minute. And this is a game that was not built with the Xbox Series X in mind. This is the result of the improvement to raw data throughput and not anything that is hooking into Velocity.

This should be emphasized more. These are all older games not made with XvA featureset and support in mind, so these load times are just the raw SSD I/O hardware in effect with none of the bigger XvA benefits since the games aren't re-coded to utilize them. If they were, the times would be even smaller.

Now about that $220 expansion card tho....

Welcome console gamers to the world of playable video games.

Anyway, seems like its a solid box.

That said, these framerate differences are crazy. This could be transformational to the existing current gen library. I could see lots of people wanting to go through those games all over again.

They should uncap the framerate, i have no doubt most of these games will tripple in performance upwards.

leads to fear. Fear leads to xbox.
Spiderman Miles Morales (that I can play on a PS4 Pro), Demons Souls (which can wait, especially when I played and still have the 2008 DS, Horizon that I can play on PS4 Pro and Hitman, that I can play on PS4 Pro, and Godfall which I'm not interested).

Microsoft has been more confident and transparent in its communication lately.
MS has been transparent yet hasnt shown any games.......atleast sony brought the goods, Phil and Matt BOOTEHHHH are nothing but blue ballers at a strip club, atleast sony has shown you the goods and what you cna buy for NEXT GEN experiences.

It really is a little ridiculous, he’s turning into Jim Mattrick at this rate. I still can’t believe that if I didn’t happen to browsing Twitter and seeing the Geoff Keighly tweet I wouldn’t have a PS5 on launch day because the preorder debacle.

Yet they still have my $500 and have basically shown nothing. So we’ll see.
Probably im going to get a PS5 because of my backlog, because of my friends and other stuff....

But man this dude is doing things wrong.
One Example is the "remaster of Spiderman", why to charge again for a game launched on 2018 and not optimize the game like xbox is doing.
Some people got mockups of of Series X and S months ago....PS5 nothing.

I could go on and on.

Really, Xbox is doping things right to reach Sony position, Sony on the other side....bad, really bad.
Hell I don't even know which ssd i need to buy in order to forget that the console has 800 gb in capacity

Fixed.

On a serious note, those are some impressive load times.
last time I checked spiderman is new and also a remake of demon souls from the ground up also godfall whilst also on pc looks to be shaping up really well, what does MS have again? You can wish in one hand and crap in another and see which one gets filled first

John already told us.

- Games that run at 30 will still run at 30 no matter what
- Unlocked frame rate games will get boost
- Games that already run at 60 will sustain more at heavy scenes

Good to know, would be interesting to see a list of games that have unlocked frame rates/run at 60 on XoX

In theory, we should see near on a 50% reduction again to some of the times on the left. Assuming said game isn't constantly calling out to the cloud servers and waiting on middleware, authentications/verifications/spawning of virtual instances etc etc.

That's the main issue PC has, connections wait times as SSD loading hasn't been a issue in a long time.

We understood your disappointment the first time. Go be concerned somewhere else.

The chance of them leaving the reveal of "new games" to 3rd parties like this are around 0.
nah Im fine right here, you dont like FACTS, you can leave. Sorry im not daddy, I'm not going to lie to you and tell you everything will be ok.

This is what I've been saying. I can deal with nearly any plausible console width in horizontal mode, it's the height that becomes limiting first. I'm not as convinced as others the X wins on size, it's a very smart design but the tallness would limit me before the PS5's wideness laid flat.

With it's mandatory stand, the PS5 is very nearly as tall while being a good deal wider and Far deeper.

This happens on all versions of of the game on console unless you are running from an external SSD. The menu even loads slightly faster or slower depending on your net connection according to some on forums back when the game first launched.

It is dependant on how much you have on your inventory as well.

If I could guess, Digital Foundry have already their benchmarks for Xbox Series X and PS5.

- Rise of Tomb Raider
- Doom
- Assassin Creed Unity (I don't remember if this runs unlocked)
- Hitman
- Call of Duty MW reboot
- Call of Duty MW Battle Royal mode
- Project Cars
