Would really like to hear from Xbox fans about this, serious question here, as this point really bugs me

The new assassins creed for example is going to be both 60 fps and 4k on both new consoles.

It is really worth it to lose out on the new controller haptics and triggers?
The new ssd that will basically make loading times zero
The new sound engine that is meant to be better than Microsoft's.

The dirt rally game is said to be 120 fps on both consoles as well.

Seriously here, are you not losing out on a better game experience and better features if you don't get a ps5?

What if this trend continues with cyberpunk and so on.

You might not get your own exclusives on xbox for 3-4 years and the is a large possibility you will have the worst versions of multiplats.

Does that not worry you guys at all?

I am not even including the ps5 exclusives in this.

this is a serious question, plus don't leave some fanboy trigger emote, i would love to hear some real reasoning please.
I expect at least in the beginning most games running better on PS5.
Late in the generation the situation can change I don't know but this first year games will or look better or run better on PS5.

On the SSD side of things but MS has put a lot of money into their pockets and DF wont want to bite the hand thats giving them money.
DF can try to defense control but the video with both version will tell the reality.
It is more about the software/SDK being way behind in the MS camp and not the true power of the system (that we will knows only late in the generation).

I think the games will definitely get more interesting in design and scope the further we go into the generation.
There must be a lot of new tech that the developers need to get used too.

I'd much rather have 1440p with way more effects, particles, and cool stuff going on, then have that upsampled to 4k with DLSS like technology. You wouldn't even be able to tell it's not native 4k, the games will look better, and you'd end up with better fps. Native 4k is a waste of time and resources at this point, in my opinion.

Im not an expert, but there are other things that contribute to quality image other than Just pixels from what I heard.

Bungie Acquisition Leak

kJJysIp.jpg

Take it with a grain of salt.
If companies were truly in a bidding war for Bungie, i doubt that Bungie would allow Microsoft to do that again since they acquired Bungie in 2000 and stayed that way until 2007, when Bungie got so fed up with them getting too controlling and decided to split away from Microsoft, becoming an independent privately held development studio again. This is probably a load of made up 4chan horseshit.

Dynamic 4K is the new 4K.
1440p is good enough for budget console not the flagship one. Dynamic 4K is okay for xbox series s but it is something that many would be disappointed on Xbox series x. this might change over next 3-4 years but in 2020 native 4K for flagship console should be requirement. If there will be sub 4K games on Xbox series x I will be disappointed, I have got 4K tv that support 120hz

I guess you both forgot Halo was dynamic 4k. Get a grip.

and this was very disappointing (among many things that halo infinite gameplay disappointed with)

Prepare for disappointment, then. This gen was supposed to be 1080p native. Dynamic on resolutions that high will hardly be noticeable. Everyone needs to chill on this.

I would expect, at least early into generation (where most games are likely to have started development process on previous generation consoles) to hit that 4K mark, later into the next gen I expect games to be too demanding for xbsex and ps5 to run at native 4K (expecting mid gen refresh)

Yakuza Like a Dragon gameplay on the Series X, beginning at about 57:20

The biggest Yakuza Fan "Blonde Nerd van Brit?" wanted him to ask some questions, why the Yakuza is so popular ... lol, sure.

As if she didn't know why already. And what happened to the other questions she had, wanted him answered? Just one? Did they use a tele-prompter to chit-chat?

That was so unnatural, so mechanical conducted.

It's probably going to be extremely easy to compare the I/O between both systems. All you need is gameplay footage and a stopwatch. Which is why whatever differences Digital Foundry doesn't reveal others will reveal it quite easily.

This was the point I was trying to make with my thread.

It is not healthy for this industry to have people giving out opinions that are listened to, when they vastly benefit from a positive relationship with the companies they are supposed to be critiquing.

It fucking sucks, and needs to end.

Yh you can kill that noise.

I'm pretty sure MS know exactly what the PS5 is and can do, they were telling DF about the variable clocks back in March and they insist they have the most powerful system, so they must be pretty confident.

But Xbox users didn't have native 4k in the majority of Xbox One X games, why bother now? Isn't much better to shift resources to image quality post-processing techniques like RT, that will produce much better results than just the number of pixels on screen? And better framerate? I cannot think of a better way to show this than the UE5 demo, or are you going to say that looked bad cause it was 1440p?

Well prepare to be disappointed. Why push for native 4k when you have checkerboard/Ti/dlss, and can have a much better looking game? The industry is heading towards these techniques, its time to accept it. If not, you need a PC with a 3080.

You wait till the digital foundry reviews come out for multiplats, a lot of xbox fans have got all there chips in on that.

Just imagine there is no difference, or god forbid ps5 comes out better.

This place will be carnage.
I do expect the Series X to come out on top, but what's the margin? Probably smaller than PS4 Pro versus One X.
