[NX Gamer] AC: Valhalla - XsX vs PS5 - The first REAL head to head battle.

Compared with the light NX parts... yes looks way worse in stressing parte of the game.

This, from the video, doesn't look like "a lot" worse, looks like well within the realms of parity to me.

Also confirms screen tearing in the PS5 version

But in MrFunSocks MrFunSocks defence, you can buy a new TV to sort that out so its an XSX win.

Or, and bare with me here, you can have a TV that already supports VRR.

You guys lining up to dog pile on other members of GAF is, frankly, pathetic and just makes you look like sad little warriors.

I just want to know their average resolution like this video provided for the previous game that also used dynamic resolution.

Not a range, give me a hard number.

Upscaling techniques are so good these days, that DF and NX have both admitted that pixel counting is difficult. Getting a count for a single frame is hard enough. Expecting an average is kinda ridiculous.

Yup doesn't look that worse, only 5x more screen tearing than PS5.

It is worse on XSX. Look at the 16.67ms frame-time. This is the main stat if you want to judge the stability of the 60fps.

Frame-time consistency is more important and it's definitely more stable on the PS5. It's 97.5% 16.67ms vs 87% on the SX.

You dismissed John Linneman's tweet I posted earlier. Seems he was right.

"Are you winning, son?"

In Xbox defense I'll say that this is the most not noticeable screen tearing I've ever see. Without the marks I can't tell it.
It has been reported to different sources that tearing is quite intrusive on series X by the way. Now, it's more bizzare to see a sort of defense for worst perfomance in the more powerful machine ("of the world!") in multiplat with even marketing deal. Can imagine what would have been the meltdown if the sides were reverted.

My days of worrying about such things are over, just installed this beauty and thanks to Xbox and VRR it looks amazing and so smooth😁

Good for you, enjoy, I love LG OLEDs also, had one for a couple years now. I would like a second one but my son needs a 32" monitor for his room next and OLED dont go that small so...

Now you can go back and take off those 200 snigger remarks these past 3 months when I tried to explain to you about caches, clock speeds and how stuff works and we are good.

Thanks for the trigger Riky Riky , please dont change

This thread is pretty sad if I'm being honest.

The versions are practically identical and people in here are lauding this is some sort of huge win. XSX has a few tearing issues and PS5 has problems with tessellation. Performance appears on par and looks to be a locked 60 on both.

This is a cross-gen game. Similar to Devil May Cry, just porting the game across to the new hardware and getting it running with consistent performance is likely the main development goal here. There doesn't appear to be any next gen exclusive features in play in this title. It is most likely a straight port of the current gen versions with settings maxed as much as they can be given engine and SDK constraints. Who knows what the development effort was surrounding these next gen releases, a few months or more? How long devs have had with finished hardware? If they were even interested in pushing each system or if parity was the primary focus? There's just too many factors at play to take away anything particularly meaningful.

This is more an exercise in ease of porting than it is the final say on next gen performance disparity between the systems. I for one commend ubisoft for their efforts. It really looks like they have learned from the horrible AC Unity launch last gen.

As Phil said :

“Your games will look and play best on Xbox Series X. Xbox Series X is designed to deliver a new level of fidelity, feel, performance, and precision never seen before in console gaming. All games will look and play best on Xbox Series X – whether they come from our 15 Xbox Game Studios, like Halo Infinite, or from our world-class publisher and developer partners.”

That’s why this thread and the others are the way they are.

It's one cross gen launch game with a barely perceptible difference, I wouldn't start the victory parade just yet. If what we've heard about Xbox tools being behind then there will be plenty of room for improvement.

The numbers really show how much worse it runs on XSX. Thanks for showing.

Just 100 games runs on BC on ps5

I wasn't defending the lower performer. Just saying that, to my old tired eyes, screen tearing doesn't looks that bad. Xbox 360's Dead Rising was like playing Sonic 2 in split screen mode.

i wouldnt read fuck all into this tbh, its a launch game and i imagine this is simply down to the development situation on the PS5 being more mature than the XSX, once the MS sort that shit out we'll probably see that extra horsepower resolve itself on screen with slightly better framerates.. but hey at least its not the clusterfuck it was for the original releases.. man that was a hoot

At the end of the day were likely to see similar comparisons in the reverse also, XSX will have some games performing slightly better.

In this instance it really is negligible, I cant imagine anyone being bothered by this for the split second it happens in the game, with action on screen and the general gameplay, what is the overall impact of a couple of dropped frames here and there. I dont think many people if any will be running to return their console or game.

Average 60fps on both, and it was literally in the lead of the video.

Screen tearing on PS5 but only Xbox has VRR support to negate it though.

Please don't.

No I think I will. It's apparently ok to jump on MrFunsocks or Riky based off the results of one multiplatform game showing parity between the consoles. It's pathetic and if you defend it, you're pathetic too.

GAF is made all the more toxic and hostile with this kind of bullying.

It's the second to be fair.

I never moan about screenshots. I cum every time I see screenshots posted. But here, another bunch from LivingD3AD LivingD3AD , the gulf is simply massive here:

Ironically, it's up to 18% advantage for PS5 (51fps vs 60fps).
Not surprised here. PS5 has 22% advantage is other parts of its GPU compared to SX like pixel fillrate, etc. Me and O onQ123 would point this out constantly.

Nobody is disputing that the game will play fine on either system and everyone will be happy - one side said games would be the same as speed and cache makes up for TF, SOME were saying huge power differences for 6 months now. One of them was Microsoft, thats the issue.

Why NX gamer not tested PS5 version properly? How about go in crowded densely populated areas like Jorvik and all to count resolution drops on PS5?

Game being open world and dynamic. It drops resolution in different areas. He needs to play same areas on both consoles and then test it
