There's been plenty of chatter about the Bluepoint potential purchase. Sony announce that and MGS remake together, Keighley passes out.

I want GoT to at least take out this category, not because it's a better game than TLOU2, but because Sucker Punch deserve as much recognition as possible for their improvement as a studio. They've always just dwindled around making "Okay" games for Sony, but GoT really was a ginormous leap for someone with their track record.

It's pretty interesting looking back on Sucker Punch, Naughty Dog and Insomniac when they all had platformers coming out around the same time on the PS2 (Sly, Jak, R&C) and where they are all at today.

Even if GoT has the highest "user-score" on one website, scoring in the video game industry is still inflated and has been since the dawn of time. The numbers mean jack-shit. I look at the actual products and body of work.
Sly was an average platformer that lacked the aesthetics and gameplay appeal of it's fellow counterparts at the time. inFamous was fully realised by the end of it's first entry.
GoT is an actual stand-out IP that's properly comparable to the other high-budget AAA games of this generation.

Maybe last generation games I agree. Not comparable whatsoever to witcher or red dead 2 or even horizon zero dawn or death stranding or Spider-man on any level. Game is outdated as shit and it's b grade scores demonstrates that

I don't see another active Game Awards thread so first I just want to say Rainbow Six Siege is getting absolutely shafted this time around. I'll never understand how it didn't win for multiplayer or ongoing game in previous years. The team definitely deserved it for everything they've done over the years. It's 10x the game Valorant will ever be.
On topic: I think we'll probably see Dying Light 2 make another appearance. Halo is a no. I can't think of anything else that might pop up. My expectations are very low.

I'm really curious about Nintendo and what they'll show(if anything).
Hopefully we'll get a new fleshed out trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2
A Metroid Prime 4 trailer
Metroid Prime Trilogy remake confirmation
And the long shot: the oft rumored, fabled, urban legend, old wive's tale.........Switch Pro hardware reveal.

I usually watch because of the reveals but last years reveals were not very interesting from what I can remember, the biggest one I think was Hellblade 2 if I remember correctly. I usually watch with a couple of friends and we like to meme it on discord but that's about it. It is nice being an award show since it has such a big budget compared to other things going on, I appreciate it for what it is but I don't really expect any mind blowing things to happen.

The rest will be cringy stuff, some new content coming to some popular multiplayer games, a bunch of ok looking indie stuff and a bunch of "here's a CG trailer for some mid budget multiplayer game from a dev you've never heard about....coming 2024"

DS reviewed lower than GoT on PS4.
