Steam hit its all-time concurrent user peak.

This after Epic spent millions for exclusives and media sucking their dick to own Valve and Steam.

Steam lost Ubisoft to Epic, but Microsoft and EA rejoined. I wonder how much Epic paid Ubisoft for that to happen. Ubisoft are an enormous publisher. No way they need Epic's money that much.

I will probably test it in 2030 when the bugs are gone.
i know you're trying to be funny but the PC version is actually fine. sure there a bugs but it's not any worse than any other game at launch. it's the console versions that are a mess.

so far i've only experienced a few bugs:

1. jackie walks through elevator door. immersion breaking at best.
2. quest tracking showing the wrong location. a quick reload of my save = problem solved
3. RTX crashes my PC but it's working for a lot of people.

performance is great. i'm playing at the ultra preset (with RTX off) and it's rock solid 60fps at 1440p.

I'm not trying to be funny. That's the entire reason for not playing it. My PC is more than capable. Angry Joe's preview also didn't help.

That's a lot of potentially lost players for Ubisoft.

If you are playing Ubisoft games on PC you should just be signing up directly for their Ubisoft+ access program. I believe it gives you day and date access to all their games (ultimate editions) for 20 dollars a month (cad) and any season passes released.

Really interesting to see how this affects the console market.

PC gaming is growing rapidly, and the Cyberpunk PC/Console split was surprising to me. I don’t think the PS5 will do as well as the PS4 by the end of the gen and I don’t think the Series X/S will do anything close to the One’s numbers.

The Switch is the last “beast” in terms of hardware sales long term I think, and that’s a hybrid. I’d be surprised if we hit 100m for anything home console wise again.

May... be?

I bought a PS4 and a PS4 pro the day they came out last time around but I don’t really want a PS5 because... I mean, it’s just gonna be all Woke all the time.

I am also old and grumpy though so I... don’t think my reasons for switching to PC which are more about wanting greater control over my content (which... I just said *more* control than on wokesole, you know?) are universal. Are they?

Pc gaming is dead.

I don't know where or how, just that it's dead.

/s in case it wasn't obvious.

Nice number though. And of course it's not calculating battle net origin and so on.while we never get the exact number, it could be interesting to see how many users there are on pc.

I will probably test it in 2030 when the bugs are gone.

My advise would be to wait around 2077

I remember lurking in the Gametrailers forums back in 2009. Never a day went by without our daily "Is PC gaming dead" thread.

This has to be a streamer thing right?

The kind of make your own fun games that best support streaming are going to be on PC, which then acts as a massive advert for them and just... if you want to play the games the streamers play you are gonna need a PC?

So... Stadia is dead? :)

(Would imagine you won’t get the kind of games streamers play on Stadia, and you will have even less control over the content than on wokesole. But... you know.)

Given it had 1 million users around april, and not knowing how many active users there are - hell, even I tried it for free - then its not really alive.

If we won't get the games on Stadia thats popular streamed games, isnt it more or less dead then? You make it sound like a bad thing

Cyberpunk is like a shot of adrenaline in PC's veins. Sold 60% of the 8 million preorders while competing against

Stadia,
Xbox One S,
Xbox X,
Xbox Series S,
Xbox Series X,
PS4,
PS4 Pro
PS5.

It ownz them all and spits on them.

Its the first singleplayer game in 17 years to crack 1 million CC users. It maintains this number for 3 days straight.

Its a game made like in the old days, its practically a PC exclusive. It sports the most advanced rendering tech on the market, it scales beautifully between settings and resolutions. It takes advantage of the most cutting edge hardware available. And it gave absolutely zero fucks about consoles and their constraints during development. This is an actual PC game in 2020 like they did it in the 90's and 00's.

And its breaking sales records, exclusively on PC. Its already the fastest selling pc games in history. Its above 10 million on PC alone for sure by now. This is gonna end up at 20 million sales on PC by march.

This gives me great pleasure and joy

All time concurrent user count broken a year or so after they allowed porn games. I'm no mathematician here, but 1+1 = ....

I have the XSX version and I have yet to encounter a bug. I'm about 5 hours in. Calling it a 'mess' is complete crap.

How do these stats work? For example, my computer is on, logged into steam, but my kid is playing Roblox. Does that count? I assume no

But GAF told me that the face melting power of Cerny's magical box would be the end of the enthusiast PC market, and would dEsTrOy mY 3080 wItH fAcTs aNd LoGiC!!!1!!! Why bother building your PC - which will cost a MILLION dollars to equal the PS5 - when you could just give your money to Sony, and thus make the pain and confusion go away?

These are great numbers for Valve, and a testament to how robust and healthy the PC market is.

The link says Cyberpunk is at about 900,000 players now. Peaked at about 1,050,000 today.

I'm always amazing Counterstrike has such a huge following every year.
