There is just something off about the game. Playing on PS4 got alot of crashes which is BS.

The combat is just not clicking with me. I dont know maybe Im too under powered.

Still enjoyable but Definitely disappointing, especially the AI and the way they handle the ending. Though the ending seems like they just chop out content do they can choose to sell their so called “substantial story expansion” for another 30 bucks.

There are far bigger disappointments though. Like FF13, dragon age 2, mass effect 3, anthem, fallout 76, death stranding, last of us 2, AC:Unity, no man’s sky, duke nukem forever.

The gunplay is really good, I restarted on hard on PS5 once they patch it a few times it should be even better. It’s not Witcher 3 level but version 2 or 3 might have a masterpiece in this world. But most of us were hoping this would be it, this game does just have style, and loot love my loot if I am searching every nook & crannies for it means game is not boring me at least.

Some parts of the main story are starting to get boring. It does get better later on, but I’m at that point where I know where a good stopping point is for the day. I liked The Witcher 3 a lot more, but I don’t exactly hate it. It was mind blowing at first, but a lot of it is for show.

The people in the city resemble about 90% of sandbox games. I do not think we are at that point where 50 or 75% of the population has something interesting to say. I don’t even know why I have the prompt to talk to the majority of citizens in the city. They’re lifeless or just there to fill in the quota for the general population. I’m not trying to sound too harsh. The fun stuff comes when the climax of the mission hits or when there’s some gunplay. I’m trying to be honest about it. The good stuff is typically the side missions.

I think if you were new to the genre you might appreciate Cyberpunk 2077 a lot more. If you’re looking for a well rounded open world game than like 80% of what’s already on the market then you might think Cyberpunk 2077 is the best there is.

There are times where I’m really paying attention to the quest, but then it feels like it did in Fallout or I’m scrambling to find loot because the conversation is just dragging on. Cyberpunk 2077 had a very good initial impression and then the game has to stand on its two feet. I can’t honestly say I’d replay this game once I finish it. It was good, but it’s definitely not on my GOAT list. I am still having fun with it, so don’t shoot me. :messenger_grinning:

Yeah it's a bad situation. Love CDPR for being to this point one of the most pro consumer devs ever. But it can't be denied that they ("they" being executives, not necessarily deva) simply lied and covered up the horrific last gen base console performance. Its a real shame. It took years (a decade plus) to build that kind of reputation and rapport with their fan base and mere moments to fuck it up. I don't know if they can ever fully rebuild that lost trust, but I hope they try.

On a personal note, I ordered a copy of the CE for PS4 and Xbone with the original intent of waiting to play them when the "free" upgrade is pushed out sometime next year. But I'm considering refunding both since I don't see any version being truly ready for prime time for at least 12 months.

It's obvious this game should've never released on last gen console. And needed at least another 6 months to bake for next gen and PC (likely twice that long if we're talking about implementing promised but missing features).

What a cluster fuck. 🤦‍♂️

I wouldn't be so quick to blame it on the execs - the fault is with both sides. Assuming nobody actually wanted to release a bad product execs should have realized they do not have full visibility of the project - go into the room with PC and all the consoles, spend 5 minutes with each and it would have been obvious last-gen needs extra work. There should have been multiple performance milestones leading up to release as to avoid exactly what happened - everyone thinking that in one extra month they delayed the game last time the performance problems will be solved.

The devs should have also clearly communicated about the state of the project, also way in advance. It's as simple as going to your team lead or manager and saying: 'Look at this game. We are struggling on multiple fronts, and given past few months I think it's unlikely this will be ready when we want it to be.

It's obvious this game should've never released on last gen console. And needed at least another 6 months to bake for next gen and PC (likely twice that long if we're talking about implementing promised but missing features).

As others have mentioned last-gen consoles also ran RDR2, Horizon, TLoU 1 and 2, Ghost of Tsushima. All except TLoU were open-world games. CP2077 doesn't have anything going for it that one can say e.g. 'Well, the AI is great and takes a lot of CPU power, which is why everything else runs badly'.

stealth hiding needs a buff, imo. Even when I hack the cameras, and with 12 points into stealth, the enemy sees me as soon as my hangnail rounds the corner. Can only grab enemies from behind and not from the side sucks.

I read Tom Chick's review and I agree with most of his criticisms. I am enjoying the game, but the game play itself feels like any other game, there isn't anything groundbreaking about it. I wanted another Deus Ex game and this feels pretty much like it.

Skyrim on ps3 was one of the worst games ever.. 10 years and 10 versions later it's one of my favorite games. That taught me an important lesson, DON'T ever preorder massive AAA - open world games, let them age awhile like a fine wine (and your amd graphics card lol..).

I assume when I actually pick this game up for ps5 in 2022 or so for $20 it'll be a great game. AAA games shouldn't be judged in a week, let the years roll by and see what we all think about this.

We judged spiderman, death stranding, red dead 2, god of war, last of us, days gone, ghost of tsushima on week 1 because did not need multiple huge patches to fix a broken game that was released to early on its platform

Why did you include Days Gone? That game had serious issues, some of them weren't fixed until the BC mode for PS5.

Death Stranding is proof that a game can be as polished as ever and still be unfun and boring to play. Cyberpunk in it's state is still giving me a ton of enjoyment and when it is fully polished it will be great.

WE COMPARED BECAUSE THAT'S HOW THEY PITCHED IT IN THEIR TRAILERS>>> ITS A PIECE OF SHIT GAME AND WE WERE LIED TO> FUCK CYBERTURD AND ANYONE WHO LIES AND SAYS ITS GREAT

Lmao grow the fuck up with your childish and demeaning attitude. It's a fucking video game and if people like it then so be it. Believe it or not unlike you others can make up their own mind about something versus jumping on the latest hate train and being a dick to others.

something about missing features everyone on the cyberpunk subreddit is complaining about. This was about Witcher 3.
''Initially Adam Badowski is put forwards to give me a technical explanation, so I sit there in the meeting room pointing at comparison images and videos on my laptop, asking him why things changed. He gives me an honest explanation, but it's only half the story. He says: "It's strange for me because from my perspective it is just a technical consequence of many things, so I cannot see this through gamer's perspective. For me it's a complex problem connected to many technical decisions."
"We got it working somehow," Tomaszkiewicz tells me, "but it's easy to create a feature that somehow works: to polish it and make it really useful and cool it's twice more time. If it's a choice between whether we need to finish the streaming system or we need to finish Kinect, it's like, pssh!"

No surprise, its always like this.
Next year when goty edition comes out, everyone will be singing praises about how CP2077 is one of the best RPGs ever and the next Deus Ex or something.

The game is addictive. I went in for a short session and ended up losing track of time completely. Driving gets SO MUCH better if you have a good car.

Wrong thread.

Why the fuck do you speak like a teenager from the 90's? I have put almost 50 hours into this game and while it has issues I have loved my time with it. So much so I'm avoiding doing the final set of missions cause I don't want it to end.

YOUR experience and opinion is not true for everyone. Stop with this bull shit assuming everyone has the maturity and small brain like yourself and move the fuck on if this game offends you that much.

My GOTY for sure. And I had zero interest before I bought it on a whim.
Already played through all

GerAlt-Right. Ciriously.
No reason, they couldn't have released it on PC and current (or is next?) gen consoles and then spent the extra time to get the last (current?) gen console versions fixed.

I just picked it up to play on my XSX. I hope I don't regret it.

After putting 45hrs into this game is has just made me appreciate GTA V a whole lot more. The games setting is dull and shallow.

So many pointless systems and no decent hardware utilization regardless of platform.

First of all, I’m a huge fan of the Withcer 3, best RPG experience this generation for me and CDPR have raised my expectations for their upcoming cyberpunk style Role Playing Game mindblowingly high! Played 10 hours thus far on PS5 and the game never comes close to my expectations! CDPR made a huge mistake with this game and raised the expectations and pre release hype for this game insanely high!
Cyberpunk 2077 should have been a next gen only title and would come in 2022 at least. It still needed huge amount of development time. Definitely unfinished project.
Aside from the unprecedented BUGs and glitches, gameplay and RPG mechanisms are Meh at best!

Also Cyberpunk 2077 on PS4 and Xbone is nothing short of a disaster tho!

what the fuck CD Projekt Red?!
The only disappointment is that you must have a defective PS5. I have been playing it on XSX and it runs great. That is even w/o the next-gen enhancements.

The more you play the better it gets as the game starts to open up and make sense. Its too overwhelming at first and not enough "hand holding" going on. You have 5 skill trees with a million perks in them, then eating, crafting, weapons out the ass, cyberwear, mods etc... I have played like 20+ hours and still am figuring out shit I didn't know about. And reading the other thread there is a ton I had no idea you could do. took me hours to figure out you could eat all the shit you pick up and it gives you temp perks. And the hacking is its own thing that again isn't really explained to the player. You can become super OP and breeze through enemies with it but its barely touched on anywhere.

What really kills the game is its just shitty on base consoles. PS4 base here and the game is FUGLY and empty. The first reveal showed this huge city with tons of traffic etc... on base you see like 3 people on the street and are lucky if you get 2 cars every 5 city blocks. Its sad when you have other open world games and you can get traffic and citizens walking all around.

Its an odd comparison but it reminds me a lot of No More Heroes. The game had a fun story fun characters and great combat, but then you had this lifeless empty "open world" city that you just drove around to get from point A to point B in. Thats what Night City feels like. If you aren't killing gang members or doing NCPD missions there is really no point to the open world.

Outside of those 2 things if you put the time in the game its a lot of fun and there is a lot to progress your player and skill up to become OP to start murderising everyone.

I think they just focused to much on the superfecial (graphics) and the story. Would have preferred time going into making some mini games in the city, making the AI better, and adding a few neat systems to bring the world to life. When you consider that most people are playing this game on systems that can't take advantage of all the immersive amazing graphics it makes me question why they either went last gen or went balls deep on graphics that the system couldn't handle.
