I remembered hearing about this functionality before launch but couldn't find anywhere how to do it (I think I even asked in this thread and nobody knew what I was talking about). Great feature to have, thank you for sharing.

I was using rechargeable AAs as well, but I also wanted to charge while I play when my batteries run out. So this was my best choice.

has anyone cleaned the series X yet? i’ve noticed a bit a dust build up on the heatsink/vapour chamber when i look from round the back. is it best to use a can of compressed air to blow the dust away? i’ve heard the cans can sometimes release water vapour and wasn’t sure if it was a good idea to get any water on something like that.

Anyone with an Atmos setup (in my case 5.1.2) how do you have it set on the Xbox. Download the Atmos app then 5.1? Or 7.1? And then any upmixing on the amp or just direct?

I don’t use a receiver but in my case it was, download the app, configure in the Xbox Sound ans Volume settings for Bitstream out / Dolby Atmos for home cinema and voila.Anyone with an Atmos setup (in my case 5.1.2) how do you have it set on the Xbox. Also my setup uses ARC so depending on your tv you may need to do some setup there. I use a 65CX so it set it up itself automatically.

Depending on your receiver you might like the built it upmixer more for non atmos/DTX content. I found that the Atmos upmixing to be a little less dynamic than the built in dolby upmixing in my denon. But its not a drastic difference.

Alright so I cannot use it, because it say that my setup does not support Atmos, which is expected. However on the internet it says that it will setup your speaker acoording what you have setup in soundbar/receiver. I guess it's communicating somehow. You have problems?

Yeah, I love Alan Wake. The first time I played it, it was so good I played it a 2nd time right after I finished the first. I played it again when it came with Quantum Break. I didn't think it would hold up after all the years; was glad to be wrong.

I hope it gets X enhanced or remastered at some point, I'd gladly pay for it again (mainly a res bump). Hopefully one day we will get a full sequel. It's so fun, not really high art just an absolute blast of a good time. I'll definitely be playing all the DLC next.

All sorted now, cheers bud. Changed it to bitstream and then selected Atmos. Think it was in "Linear PCM" before. Right in time to watch Wanda Vision tonight. Finally claimed my free month on Gamepass.

Getting some unusual behaviour on my Series X today. It's not longer automatically signing me in anymore, even though the option is ticked in the settings. Also Prime is asking me to register TV with number as if it was the first time using it, once done it won't play any media content. I knew about the sign in issue but only reason I checked prime was because nothing would play on Disney Plus either when I signed up tonight. Internet connection check says it's good and strong. The first page of the MS store wont load but everything else will. Very strange 
Was all working fine last night and nothing should have changed.
Edit: I no longer have a HDR capable TV according to the settings. Joy's of running a home cinema
Edit 2: I have a HDR tv again that works on games. Just no streaming content is loading apart from YouTube and Apple TV. How strange. Perhaps this one is on my internet service provider.

I dunno, ever since I got the cable, I took the batteries out all together and just use it as a wired controller. Is it even possible to recharge batteries other than the MS battery pack in the controller?

This is great news to hear, they already had a modular dual OS with the Windows based OS and GameOS side by side and now the former is being delivered in more independent chunks too.
The challenge of end to end testing is there though. In many groups this places a lot of work on the front end team that ties all these components together and tends to see issues and sometimes the more you make things independent and continuously delivered the less integration testing each team does. Still good news overall
