Welcome to the Results thread for GOTY 2020 at NeoGAF! Continuing from last year we condensed the categories into specific votes to get a more accurate picture and just simply awarded gold, silver bronze, we also tagged the most anticipated title on here as well. Given the way cross platform is becoming more the norm the platform awards don't really make sense to carry on unless we bundle PC/Xbox together in cirteria. It just gives reasons to say hur-dur Microsoft at the moment.

Persona 5 Royal released in the west in March 2020, Death Stranding PC July 2020, and 13 Sentinels made it to the west in September 2020. We are not a Japanese website, so don’t make a case out of nothing.

I was sure that CP2077 will be near the top as I've played it and read the OT.
Most people were really liking the game.

Tony Hawk got robbed...

It rightfully won sport, but it's hard to see a shot-for-shot remake of 1999/2000 titles beating anything on that top 20. Not because they're better games, but because THPS is just a direct remake, it can be hard to get excited about if you're not a THPS diehard like us.

That is a really solid list of games.

Hard to argue with any of em, glad to see TLOU2 so high despite the hysterics.

I’m currently playing Ghost of Tsushima and I can definitely see why it is Gaf’s goty. Really incredible game so far.

I’m also happy that FF7 remake got some good recognition. That game blew me away, and I am an avid final fantasy fan from back in the day.

It takes some time to "get it". First 5 hours it was jus too much to process, it takes some time to learn how the system works...but hell, is it worth it.

Ori is my 2020 GOTY. I'm still playing through Cyberpunk, but I think this game will be suitable for a 2021.

And Ori was one of my top picks as well, glad to see it on the top 10 at least.

Wouldn’t have guessed that Ghost would win but it’s a solid game, I stopped playing it but will continue once I have a PS5.

No MS flight sim? Considering people were calling it the greatest looking game of all time and it's literally got the largest open world in a game ever (the literal world), I think it deserved a top twenty place.

Good list, but I think Cuphead Animal Crossing should be higher.

8 of my top 10 made the GAF top 10, so I can't complain too much. Even though Ghost of Tsushima really isn't a game for me, I'm glad that people seemed to really like it. I may need to check it (and Hades) out at some point, but I'm in no real rush.

Love GOT, my GOTY too. Incredibly well rolled out, holding back the extra content as a nice surprise for free on top of an already amazing experience.

No really big issues with the list, maybe CP2077 I thought would be lower but I reserve judgement till I finish it. Hopefully in the next few days.

No, but I do think hype can change a person's perceptions of the game. Some may have voted with the thought of what CP2077 may become.

I'm not saying its wrong just that IMO it doesn't belong anywhere near the top 3.

With regards to Cyberpunk - I voted it #2 on my list. I played the game for what it was on a decent PC and didn’t hit too many bugs. I rated it #2 based on the amount of fun I had with the product given.
