Mmm. I'd like to see Nxgamer put his hands on it. Every time Tom Morgan is behind a DF analysis, something goes missed in the whole picture. It's happened the same thing with the last COD. For me such tech difference are really bizzarre looking the previous face off but it's just my guess

I would guess that NXGamer NXGamer has his analysis up within the next couple days, maybe by Saturday at the latest, I know he has other daily obligations. I always enjoy his vids. Looking forward to this one.

Curious. Given the performance in the one area that drops frames on the Series consoles, it looks like the PS5 has some headroom for added resolution, but they've clearly opted to keep it at the lower resolution. I assume it didn't run 4k as smoothly as the XSX. Huh. In any case, this is a win for XSX. It is what it is.

I'm ready to spill some spoilers about the rest of the gen:

Series X will lead graphically most multiplatform releases by a small margin.

PS5 exclusives will look better than the majority of Xbox exclusives tho.

Don't ask me how I know about this top secret stuff.

The differences are bigger than most of the 'wins' for the other console.
In fact better shadows, 1800p-2160p, thats about what i would expect with a 2tf better gpu. Hold on to the framedrops in a field in one of the maps, but its a problem that the devs obviously didnt think warranted dropping rez for the entire game because of that one field, and will probably end up fixed anyway.
yep they can easly fix it dropping resolution to 1800p ;)
 
You're somewhat overreacting. While yes, Series X will very likely take the lead in 3P games (which was expected from the spec reveals), that doesn't suddenly mean those games will run like trash on PS5. Truth is the vast majority aren't even going to notice the resolution differences, and if framerates are essentially the same between both, that's what really matters.

Plus, while it's a bit of a meme, Sony's 1st-party are among the best in the industry when it comes to pushing console hardware in visuals with technical and artistic capability. I think this is an area we will have to see if Microsoft can match them at; while games like FS2020 really do the trick IMO, I think many are waiting for something in regards to human realism/artistic modeling/animation/design in order to say for certain. Personally I think it's an area Microsoft CAN compete with Sony in, particularly when looking at studios like Ninja Theory, but we just need to see the results.

We've got two extremely capable 9th-gen consoles here, I really don't think we're going to have issues of one looking painfully underpowered compared to the other in virtually any area, be it graphics fidelity, framerate, resolution, load times, asset streaming etc...particularly once we're able to moreso compare among the 1P content and exclusives between the two platforms.

You really don't need to try and make me feel better. I believed that Teraflops were not everything and this game proved me dead wrong. I screwed up and I only have myself to blame for it. I'm really embarrassed that I said the two systems were really close to each other.

Come on now. It's just a single case. I could be wrong but this engine is tied to the past generation more than the other multiplat released until now. Hitman 1 and 2 needs to work on next generation. You think they rewrite the code for ps5 of the whole trilogy? Could be the reason because series X is more easy to push thanks the virtual coding development.

These results are for fanboys to argue over, the vast majority of people wouldnt tell the difference in a game on either console, even if you had 2 screens side by side.

I live in Berlin and never saw this supermarket around, also not on other cities I visited. Next time I go to Prague, I will order a Cerne Pivo! Good to know!

To be fair, multi plats aren't where it'll shine.
I mean, this sort of thing, should work everyhwere, if supplied by code from Sony. Same way are those Velocity APIs, I am not sure how else would Xbox reach such a small time of loads. Because if my mind don't mislead, Hitman on X1X had pretty long load times.

yeah cod was big f for Tom but its not very strange, on stage xsx drops fps even to 41 ps5 is still 60 so thats it, should by dynamic 4k on ps5 as probably many scenes could be 4k 60 and also dynamic 4k on xsx at least in this one level with dropping frames

Yeah well there should be no excuses when a game in future on a different engine with both at the same res by choice of the devs is the same on both or so close its meaningless.

The excuses are out the window now for those who think this is lithe new notm forever. When it isn't it always comes back to bite people.

yeah cod was big f for Tom but its not very strange, on stage xsx drops fps even to 41 ps5 is still 60 so thats it, should by dynamic 4k on ps5 as probably many scenes could be 4k 60 and also dynamic 4k on xsx at least in this one level with dropping frames

We may see this down the road.

I mean it's Billa Heute so maybe it's Austria. We also never had double consonant after each other in Czech word. Maybe it's not corrent, however "double l" is something I never see elsewhere in Czech word.

I looked it up and it's Austrian.

Thats clearly not right as in those ultra stress points its flawless where on series x its dropping hard.

So clealry in the less taxing areas it could be lets say 2000p if not 4k but then of it was maybe have drops in those stress areas.

The fact its not dropping at all in the worst areas means it could be higher.

there is no right or wrong and it will change on a game basis with what they are trying to do.
this is the good way to look at that....being binary doing generalization going from one result to another will never be.
 
Stable framerate and load times over resolution any day. PS5 win.

The load time difference is literally a blink of an eye.

Both XsX and PS5 perform amazingly well for their price points. You're not really wrong. The head to head results have been a mixed bag so far.

I am looking forward to see Control (NG version with ray-tracing) compared in March. I am curious to see ray tracing differences between the two consoles. Seems like there haven't been many chances to compare that yet.

The funny thing is why no one in DF has mentioned for a second about the BC involved in the engine with the previous releases. Think for a second: IO has coded from the ground the ps5 version, or maybe they have used the old code on ps4 pro and than adjusted on the fly the graphic setting? Because I doubt they rewrite the whole trilogy on ps5 just for the third chapter.

Remember the other differences. If the PS5 was capable of a higher resolution they would’ve gone with it.

I am still on the fence for PS5 version, but this is kind of disappointing knowing the X not only pushes native 4k but also renders better shadows. Rather important in this game. Don't have Series X but I would get that version if I had. Just be honest, Hitman 3 runs at a higher resolution and has better shadows. I'd trade it for a few framedrops. Hitman 3 seems to be flat out better on Xbox. A lot of games were better on PS5 so far. We'll see where it goes.

And Sony's SSD hype, well, the biggest difference i've seen so far is 2 seconds. Its a whole load of nothing so far. Its also smaller though I want to upgrade it anyway and would do the same if I had an X.

I wonder how many native 4k games we'll going to see on PS5 because the system doesn't so far (Demon's also isn't afaik) and if Hitman 3 isn't an outlier on Xbox.

Yeah your right other games could give different results. And there's always the possibility that they botched the PS5 version of the game. It's best to wait for more comparisons before coming to a conclusion. I might have reacted way to quickly with these comparisons.

at least if it was a unreal engine game with the trendy game design....it could have some use for some attempt at extrapolation....but this reuslt on this engine with this game design is a thing you will not see often elsewhere.

Who could’ve guessed that a system requiring high frame rates for VR would prioritise those over resolution.

News at 11.

XsX is stable 60 everywhere except one portion of one level

The PSVR version is the PS4 game running in BC, anyway.

ACV looks better than this game and it's 4K on both consoles.

Valhalla averages 1620p on XsX and PS5.
