That video looks legit. You just don't want to accept the truth lol

He showed game from boot to ingame. Its legit. PS5 version is not locked 60. It does drop frames in other sections as well and so as SX. DF just showed one specific area.

Overwhelming dominance was showcased by SX in Hitman 3.

Well you can overlay fake graphs with other software? Why was DF not able to catch these "dips" with their tools? Are their tools also developed by MS or something?

It's fake, otherwise DF did a really bad job. I'm also sure the XSX version also dips in other places in the game, because they are not analyzing 10 hours or more gameplay. Same you can ask for the PS5 version in the end.

There’s been a few times DF has found framerate drops they couldn’t reproduce, not exactly impossible that others might run into ones DF didn’t.

How its fake? PS controller button prompts are there.

On what basis you calling it fake?

Sounds like some of those bugs we have seen before in COD Cold War.
Just watching the video though I will say the framerate graph in that video makes no sense, it jumps down to zero while he’s a climbing ladder without a hitch....like anyone with eyeballs can tell that’s not 0.

I'm a Pony but this is a clear win for XSX. I knew these consoles would grow into 4k60fps. I do wonder how they managed to get essentially a 40% difference in resolution though - would love to know what's restricting the PS5 here - I don't think it's just TF.

🤣🤣🤣 can't believe people are using this video as evidence and falling for it.

As shown by DF not a single drop so clearly is headroom.

Maybe the series x drops are cpu related. Maybe the code didn't like ps5 and will be patched.

One thing for sure this video ain't legit at 0 fps looking at nothing happening.

I'm late on this one. So PS5 better performance and XSX higher Resolution, right ?

Basically. The performance issues on Xbox seem to be limited to a part of the Mendoza map, as well as a cutscene on the Miami map from Hitman 2 where it drops frames on all consoles for some reason.

ok, so clear win for XSX. If XSX keep performing so good, I might consider to buy one earlier than expected. I still prefer to see other face-off though.

That’s the thing you see, that one section breaks the immersion, it drops to as low as 41fps. Ouch...

Series X must do better next time, at least gives us an option to have a locked 60fps mode even if that means lowering the resolution.

Youve never even played Hitman have you?
What the fuck are you talking about.

If you are sitting here just looking at numbers and commenting.....dont.
If you play hitman and can spot when the frame drops in that one section out of a multi multi multi multi hour game (remember its all 3 games updated) then Ill wire you a billion dollars.

But if the resolution is always lower than native, you will notice that perpetually.

But as I said keep up the good fight!

There will be more drops in a multi multi hour game, DF just happened to run into that one in the short time they tested.

If you think that really is the only circumstance or spot where a framerate drop occurs, you're incredibly naive.

xsex have over 40% higher resolution 100% of time while ps5 have higher FPS in one specific scene (and xbsex drops to 40fps in that, single, specific scene), xbsex have higher quality shadows as well, ps5 have faster load times by 0.8s (not even 1s difference)

There is no need to get upset over this. It’s not about the looks, this generation is all about the performance and frame rate. And the fact is the Series X can’t deliver a locked 60fps experience. Maybe next time.

So I started watching this comparison on the previously posted fps video's youtube. Anyone agree the XSX version is noticeably lower fps, especially at this timestamp when panning around, but a lot of parts in the video seem to be the same. Maybe problems with capture hardware? Patch level? Why would that be if DF didn't see any of it. Is it just me?

(They only seem to have a fps video for PS5, even though it's flawed.)

PS5 vs One X i see in the video. Where is SX?

Do people seriously think frames would drop to 40-50 on the XSX if it was also pushing out 1800p?
If they reduce shadows to medium then SX will not have drops.

PS5 running One X version basically and SX ultra PC with high Shadows and shadows very taxing on frame rate. If they reduce shadows to PS5 version that is medium then frame rate issues on SX in that Mendoza level will be fixed

Not fake. Goto that area in ps5 version. Its indeed dropping frames there.
The problem is the video was showing things on the graph that clearly weren’t happening, like it diving to 0fps where he climbs the ladder but there’s not even the slightest pause. They may not be doing it intentionally but at the very least the fps graph is completely borked.

Guess it’s possible if the bottleneck was not the pixel count. Although it’s hard to fathom with the new architecture. Was very often the case on last gen.

Yeah that's probably right but, not so true re: the differences. PS5 is also running on Ultra PC. Only difference between PS5 and XSX is shadows and resolution. PS5 is running on medium shadows whereas XSX on high.

What DF or whoever need to find out from IO is what led to them not matching resolution and shadows on the next gen consoles. Everything else is the same.

It's besides the point - I wouldn't call the performance better on the PS5 because the XSX would also be locked at 60fps if it only had to load in frames at 1800p.
I meant frame rate, as I stated later. And I also said XSX version is the clear winner one post after...

Considering the PS5 is only running it at 1800p60, it stands to reason that it's unable to run the game at 4k60. Unless you believe that the developers looked at the profiling and said "huh. the PS5 can actually run it at 4k60. You know what? Lets put it at 1800p, just for the heck of it".

For someone who apparantly 'doesn't care', you seem awfully invested in this.
If the hardware has better looking games running at higher res and with 60 FPS performance then logic says it can do better. Why it isn't doing is unknown, it could be the engine, the APIs or whatever, doesn't change the fact that up until now every single game on both consoles has had similar resolution targets and settings.

I'm discussing and talking about it this is a forum after all.

So the fact older games are updated too raises questions about how much time was put into the updates, given doing that across platforms in this day and age takes longer, so were bc modes used then built upon somewhat?

Not saying its happened but it seems odd given previous results and ps5 running so well at 1800p.

If ps5 had dips at 1800p in areas like sx I'd say yeah 1800p is the right choice clearly to get similar performance.

But it doesn't at all.

This is one result, if its repeated fine, but looks a little bit like easier to get running on xbox setup pc like. Ps5 seems limited especially considering the evidence we've seen so far. Many examples of it being close or even better.

I wouldn't be going all out on 1 result.

so once again after star wars where sony just locked res and locked fps , made it stable. everyone here and there was talking now for long times that they would prefer stable fps over resolution any day... thats it here . its done.

If you are after the frame rate that has dips to mid 50’s and low 40’s then yes, the XSX is the clear winner.

Seriously, these drops appeared only in one part of one level, that's start to be ridiculous to resume the XsX frame rate to that...

is this happening often ? Is the frame rate in the XSX version unstable ? I'm interested in this game so it would be appreciated to know how things really are.

It simply possible that's this game's engine better fit with some XsX specs avantage has over PS5, contrary of other games who better fit with PS5 ones, that's all.

This is the relevant quote from the article:

“Put simply, it's 60 frames per second... with just one exception in our hours of play. In the Mendoza mission set in Argentina, it is possible to see Xbox consoles run between 50 to 60fps around a field towards the outskirts of the level, while PlayStation 5 remains constant at 60fps. Hopefully IO will look at improving this for owners of the Microsoft machines, but everything else we played ran flawlessly - bar a very slight stutter in a cutscene at the beginning of the Miami stage from Hitman 2, where all consoles dip from to near 40fps. At this point though, it feels more like a nitpick rather than anything that would have an impact on any specific purchasing recommendation.”
