Totally believable that the gamers who spend hours tweaking, configuring or otherwise modding their games won't take 5 minutes of their time to grab an exe file to play some of the best games on the market

Everything pointed to Sony hiring them for this very purpose. I'm happy I went with a gaming PC instead of PS5 because it looks like I can now enjoy both Xbox games and now PS5 games on my PC in future.

Okay I really, really don't understand people who complain about Steam / Gog, and instead want a Sony launcher just for trophies.
Steam has achievements too, so... What am I missing exactly?
If you don't like steam achievements because they can be cheated and therefore have no real values, it would probably be the same for trophies if there was a playstation launcher, people would find a way to cheat these too, so... It's really the same.

PC gaming and console gaming are not in competition with one another, the ecosystem is plenty big for both industries to grow and flourish. Jim Ryan and Phil Spencer both realize they can sell a boat load of hardware ang games, and then sell even more games to PC players.

But good luck trying to convince ecosystem warriors who believe if you release games on PC, all the console gamers will transfer to PC, buy high price rigs, and throwaway their affordable and easy to use consoles and user profile of friends lists and trophies/achievement pts.

I didn't even buy them on GOG. If they made their own store that'd basically killing any chance of me getting them.
I know its hard to believe given your tag, but for many people including myself think those sony first parties are worth less than the hassle of making new accounts.
Sure, there'd still be people who would buy them, but it would be less people nonetheless. And even if they got all the revenue from the sales its not like there'd be no costs to making their own launcher.
Better just outsource all that stuff for a fee. They don't even have to worry about advertising the port since their games will make front-page on those stores anyway.

I can't get over how smooth 120Hz gaming is. I've played a handful of them now. I can't stomach anything under 60.
In the past on this very forum i scoffed at people who were claiming 120Hz is the bees knees. I have still have mad love for consoles but I just don't see myself going back if its not capable of these high refresh rates.
I've downloaded Steam, Ubisoft Connect, Battlenet and a whole bunch other clients on PC. My username is ICPEE1 if anyone wants to join and play some multiplayer. I'm no pro, i just log on to have fun. Currently playing Cold War free multiplayer week and will purchase the game after trial is over.

funny thing is FF7 remake is not even on Steam yet and Sony probably extended the exclusivity deal, yet they put their games on PC, you want more exclusives or not? Jim and Herman clowns are all over the place

Well, I wasn't saying it for that reason. I just want a seamless experience between the two. I would still want the games on say GOG (so a separate app that detects Playstation games or you can link it so it can keep your data synced makes more sense to me now.)

The games they're releasing on PC are years old. They've been selling them for $15-$20 or given them out on PS+. Only then are they giving PC players the privilege to buy them for $40-$60.

You know I just realized that if I can get a 30 series graphics card, I can probably play every PS5 exclusive at 2x more resolution or 2x higher framerate.
Sony is probably doing us a favor here. I did not want to play Horizon at 1440p 60 fps. Ratchet at 60 fps doesnt look nearly as good as it does in fidelity mode. I want no compromises.
If only the PC market wasnt such a scam right now. I went to microcenter today to pick up a replacement motherboard and they had like several dozen AMD cards. And at least 20-30 30 series cards. All marked up at least $500. Some 3090 cards were selling for $2,500. $1k over the MSRP. I get that they are from third party manufacturers but Nvidia and AMD should NOT be allowing MSI, EVGA and Zotac to mark up the prices when we are already struggling with scammers. Whats the difference between scammers if the $499 6700xt is going for $999 at a big retail store?

This is what many here are missing. Sony still value time exclusivity. Sony won't do day 1 release on PC. The very evidence of that is the fact that Sony is paying publishers for time exclusivity. Why would they pay for games to be released first on Playstation if they don't believe in timed exclusivity.
Playstation Studios games won't release day and date on PC. Their games will only be released years after when the games have already run their course. It will be on game to game basis.
