Microsoft, the richest company in the world, is a total failure and can't get anything right.
Xbox just released the most technically advanced game on console scoring at MC 90+ epic fail. Just released high-scoring universally acclaimed and loved Pyschonauts 2 again BIG fail. FH5 coming soon and will probably be the highest scoring game of this year just looks like shit, right. Then there's Game Pass with over 10 times the number of subs of PSNow yet another MS fail.

I'm just saying bro, time and time again there always seems to be an issue. What fire? The last big game Obsidian released was The Outer Worlds and that game received tons of accolades from critics and is already being given a larger budget from Microsoft for a sequel.

True, this is still a new IP, changes will be made and many hands will be in its design that will cause people to leave and new people to come in. I'm not too worried as gaming is contracted, people come and go and don't renew contracts, leave for other gigs all the time.
I'm still hype for it, still day 1 until I see otherwise.
Avellone's still friends with several people at Obsidian.
It has been known though that leads changed, yes. He's not saying anything new, other than it may have happened again.

It's not just Avellone though, there's been rumors and afterwards linkedin+ confirmations that at least 1 shake-up happened. (Multiple Lead positions changed) This is a few months old too.
What it means for the game is anyone's guess of course. Troubled development isn't exactly new for Obsidian games.

Agree with most of your comment, but: Mojang is being super unproductive: ~700 employees but hasn't yet released the ray-tracing patch (also canceled the promised graphics pack), and Rare is also a shell of its former self. Sea of Thieves was broken at launch and took them years to fix it. Now Everwild is in a development mess, lost leads, and has been rebooted 1-2 times already. No release in sight.Their hardware and services teams are killing it. Playground Games is killing it. The Coalition is pretty solid. Double Fine just put out a killer game. Mojang seems fine. Rare is doing decently will Sea of Thieves. World's Edge doing okay with Age of Empires. Arkane seems to be pumping out games.

Reminder never buy a console based on promises. If you don't care about Halo and Forza and are interested in Microsoft WRPG slate, wait for those actual games to release. We can have a situation where Starfield, Avowed, Fable all flop. We were promised Fable Legends, Scalebound and etc which all flopped.

People leave projects all the time, and I'm sure Chris does stay in contact with peeps at the studio but people leave studios all the flipping time. There isn't a big studio that hasn't hemouriged staff from the big players at both Microsoft and Sony to rockstar and beyond. It doesn't mean shit in the grand scheme of things...not until you genuinely hear that the studio is dead etc.

BTW, making money and having a high market cap isn't indicative of quality. Also MS is large, and eventually decisions are made at an individual level. You think everyone in a massive entity such as Microsoft makes the right call? Apple is making their developer base furious right now, and THEY are the most valuable public company in the world and make quite a bit more money than Microsoft does. Microsoft makes tons of failed and bad products, some that should have never seen the light of day. The Surface Duo comes to most recent mind, but that list is a mile long. This idea that decision making within a company is sound because it makes profit is a completely false one.

Oh, the ”worse” PS5 redesign stuff seems pretty ridiculous to me, on the surface. But as I’ve never had a PlayStation I tend to stay in my lane and speak from an Xbox fan perspective. But yeah, the concern trolling phenomenon is almost worse to me than the outright full on fanboy warriors. Because….it just seems sneaky and weaselly to me.
If anyone can find any evidence of me concern trolling PlayStation, point it out, and I’ll gladly engage some well deserved self-flagellation.

Well business one on one, if a section of a company is not doing well due to bad performance then corporate would have to step in and find out what is going and take out anyone who is causing the issue. -- How do I know well I worked for a major corporation and every time something happens like this, corporate has to step in and fix whatever is going on.

Everwild has been even worse. Looking forward to seeing what it is, but progress seems really slow.
It's all about putting a show promising and getting people hyped. Reminder Microsoft haven't had a single game of the year nominee for an entire gen. It all comes down to delivering a game that successful and has high metacritic score as well as being nominated. That's something Microsoft haven't delivered in a long time. Apart from Forza Horizon franchise they haven't really been doing much. I remember getting hyped for Scalebound, Fable Legends, Phantom Dust reboot whci hall got cancelled. Remember when Crackdown 3 was supposed to be amazing with power of cloud. What about Recore from the creator of Metroid Prime series. I feel like this is happening again, Everwild had a great showing only to find out they haven't even decided the gameplay loop of the game, Hellblade 2 was shown and hyped and was the first next gen game shown for Series X, and it's not even in full production yet. Fable made by Forzion Horizon Devs while that series is great they never made a RPG, and the last Fable which was Fable 3 wasn't all that. Starfield looks great but Bethesda haven't done great lately with Fallout 76, heck Fallout 4 didn't exactly get people excited as much as 3. I'm not saying these worse case scenarios will happen, but no one buy a console based on promises it can backfire and leave you disappointed.
