I loved some of the early Arkane stuff like Dark Messiah, but these days their art style hasn't appealed to me at all. Even Dishonored I haven't gotten into due to how I disliked the look of it, but I'll probably get to it at some point despite that. Prey was the last decent game from them so far. These new games they're coming up with though, oh boy do they look unappealing. It's such a shame since I do see them as some sort of flag bearers of the immersive sim school of design. There's probably good emergent gameplay ideas hidden there, but everything I see and hear is so oof...

Well, I think it sounds somewhat better than the absolutely awful reveal trailer made it look. But the bolded? They're trying to do "modern gothic" + "comedy" + "looter shooter" in an seamless open world? Sounds like a fucking mess to me. The tone presented in that trailer was absolutely horrible; the humour was cringe, it undercut any attempts at atmosphere, and the characters designs sat on the same shelf as the recent Saints Row debacle. They've got an uphill battle to sell me on this, that's for sure.
From Arkane, a company that makes first person shooters?
I should have added "generic". They have made great games in the past but this one is not looking to be on par.

Really shocked that it’s a giant open world game. Totally was not expecting that. I honestly was expecting something closer to left for dead with tight well designed start to finish levels. I have no real expectations at this point other being a fan of arkane I am hoping for the best.

It’s gonna look at least like Deathloop, there’s no reason why it wouldn’t. Now how does it play is the question. “Like Borderlands” or “like game C” doesn’t tell me much. We need a non CGI trailer.
I trust in Arkane Austin. Hopefully MS promotes this better than Sony did Deathloop.

Loving everything I’m hearing if these leaked details are to be believed. Sure it looks rough right now, but this game isn’t coming out for another year or so. We also have no idea how old this build even is, and it clearly wasn’t meant for our eyes. Arkane is a fantastic developer, so I have no doubt that they’ll knock this out of the park. Open world, co-op, looter shooter, slaying Vampires sounds fucking dope to me. Wondering if they can make a better Borderlands than Gearbox.

People have to downplay and move goal post for console war purposes rational is non existent. Notice how he didn’t mention deathloop or ghost wire which are both coming out before red fall.

My early impressions of this leak:
- We have had three Borderland games. Now we are getting Tiny Tina's adventures. Do we really need another Borderlands-type game?
- Is this the best use of Arkane? I absolutely do not think so. Arkane's strength was that they did what no one else did. Now they are making a very generic looter-shooter game.
- The game isn't ready yet, but they already have the "Item Shop" ready. I'm expecting tons of MTX. MTX in an Arkane game. Let that sink in.
- Although it is Alpha, the graphics look horrible. Graphics will definitely improve, but by how much? They are targeting a Summer 2022 release, so ~9 months from now. For reference, it's a current-gen only game (so not being held by old gen), and will likely have even less time than God of War Ragnarok when it comes to visual improvements before release.

Some are never cease to amaze me and the worst thing is that you linked the worst tweet from a crazy fanboy. Graphics isn't everything, yes showing a cgi then the gameplay isn't a great move and that could hurt the studio but still you can find these thing on both sides.
