Good News! Alan Wake supports AutoHDR on Series X. So you can play exactly what you wanted. The original 360 graphics, but with HDR.
Er... You have a Series X, don't you?
540p-720p, no?

tbh, They are calling it Remaster. Not a remake. It is crap.
Sorry mate u can laugh all you want. Its barely a improvement in comparison to games whats out there right now. They will ask on top of it probably full price for it. It looks ugly outdated and subpar in comparison towards today games.
If somebody told me it was a mod i would believe them. Its extremely underwhelming.
They had to fully remake the entire game into a more next generation effort and fix there crappy combat system while at it. But instead went the lazy route of upgrading some models with some textures and slam some grass here and there.
But its good to see people are happy with zero effort remakes tho, u do you. I won't be getting it.
It's a bad game with bad gameplay, but it's also a bad parody of a bad Stephen King novel. Now it's getting a bad remake. I played it last year on PC and it was a pretty bad game by modern standards, but back in 2001 or whatever it might have been ok
Does Alan Wake Remastered support ray tracing / HDR?
No.
As this is a remaster built on the existing Alan Wake engine and technology, adding in ray tracing / HDR support was deemed too time-consuming. This would have taken resources away from other critical areas.
We are confident the game looks great even without ray tracing / HDR support.
Yep. When I play something with hdr and then go back to a desktop/sdr... it looks extremely muted until I get used to itI'm disappointed that this doesn't have HDR. I think this could really good with it.

A remaster is not intended to rebuild a game. It is intended to provide a nostalgic feel for an older game, while giving it some improvements. Alan Wake deserves to be experienced. It is crap.

The game is 11 years old, so it's not like a ton of people have played it.
What word did you not understand?W.. what?
It's OK to be totally wrong. It's a bad game with bad gameplay, but it's also a bad parody of a bad Stephen King novel. Now it's getting a bad remake. I played it last year on PC and it was a pretty bad game by modern standards, but back in 2001 or whatever it might have been ok
Look at the screenshots here... It actually looks decent. Still shame no hdr. I would prefer old graphics if I could have HDR

Alan Wake Remastered vs Original Graphics Comparison
SmartWill buy again for the third time. One of my favorite games from the 360/PS3 era. Although that doesn't look different from the Steam version I have.
Are you joking ?!Wow. Some of the games I've played that got free next gen patches look like they got more significant improvements. At times it looks the same as the original, at others it arguably looks worse (check out Alan's Wife's face).
This shouldn't be being charged for. At the very least, existing owners should get a free update.
This feels like they farmed the remaster out and said "what can you get done in a week?" a total cash grab.
Remedy don’t know what HDR is still?Wow. Not even HDR support wtf
Remedy don’t know what HDR is still?
Welp not getting this one unless they implement it. Plenty to play instead.

I played the original. What's the most petty reason you've had for skipping an otherwise interesting game?
It keeps coming back to me that I skipped The Long dark just because it didn't have a jump action. Up until I found out about that aspect my interest kept growing. Then it shot to near zero after that for some reason. What silly reasons has this forum had for skipping games you would otherwise...www.neogaf.com
Unless you already played the original.
Easy work.I played the original.
Yeah I said I was skipping it for that reason. This is lazy.Easy work.
You can skip this then cuz its gonna lack HDR.

Why they changed the face of Alan Wake?
They probably scanned the actor again so he looks a bit older. Why they changed the face of Alan Wake?
