God of War: Ragnarök reportedly delayed to 2023

Jason Schrier's contact still says 2022.

What a joke, what was the point of denying it for so long then?
Well... frankly sales. If this is still something to look forward to this year it can drive engagement for console sales and importantly ... with the Starfield delay ...seeing God of War was still coming this year could sway someone on the fence from buying an xbox now and hold out to try and get a PS5 in anticipation of God of War in the fall. At least that is how I see them benefiting from holding off on any delay news.

What if it’s Dec 31 2022 just like the ”place holder”?
Dodging Elden Ring at the GOTY awards but still 2022.

do not tempt fate do not contrain Wonder Woman's thighs do not do not
Still 2022.
The Avatar bet thread about to do another 180?
Until this game hits the shelves or the 31st of December arrives first, that Avatar bet thread is the best rollercoaster on the planet.
I almost wish i did do the bet just so i actually had some stakes in this fight.

If that was the plan, it's a terrible plan, PS5 already had GT7 and Horizon this year. To me an unrealistic date only causes frustration.

I said the instant they showed this trailer that it wasn't coming out and that it was a classic early announcent to get people hyped for the ps5 and stop people from going over to Xbox.

They never had any intention of it coming out then or in the near future after. Genuine delays are fine but i thought this was pretty shitty move from Sony here.
They clearly had no intention to release on 2021, that is for sure.

Lol at the idea that God of war would need to dodge Elden Ring.

If God of War drops people won’t even mention Elden Ring anymore for the rest of the year.
Lol are you serious?

Elden Ring is big on multiple platforms, including Playstation, still have 60k+ concurrent players on Steam alone, where GOW have 2k+, and is still seen high up on all sales charts all over the world and is one of the highest rated games in recent times, on all platforms, lowest 94 and highest 96 placing it at #37.

If anything Ragnarök in 2022 would get people to talk more about Elden Ring, because it would be the obvious giant competitor at all GOTY events and lists at the end of the year, with Youtube videos and forums comparing the games.

OH the shock!
Didn't you know that companies can delay the release of their product, even if their product is ready? Yes, it's true.
Welcome to reality.
Ehhh I work in the game industry my guy and have never heard of seen such a thing. But sure whatever you say.

Maybe in 1 to 2 months I can see it but no one is gonna hold a game back for 6 months or more.

Nintendo sits on games all the time.

It's why they're able to swap release dates when needed like they recently did with Splatoon 3 and Xenoblade Chronicles 3.

Rumor is Metroid Prime Remaster has been finished for a while. I wouldn't be surprised if Windwaker and/or Twilight Princess HD Remasters for Switch are as well.

No, you weren't.

Or you were lying when you voted that it would release in 2022.

Bad look either way.

Just don't pretend to know more than you do, your schtick is tiring.
Dude it was a poll thread for fun with avatar bets? Like how do you take any of that serious? It's all for fun.

We know things can change in this industry at a moments notice, when they were scheduled to do full on scenes Chris Judge the actor literally fucked his back up and needed surgery. This was pre-pandemic. I think the reason we all are not as serious as you is we've seen the game from 2021, and it looked pretty fucking polished in the snippets that they showed. Also Playstation fans have been eating good with GT7, MLB, Forbidden West, New Service with possible stealth releases like Bloodborne remastered.

Forspoken is this year, Stray is literally next month. Remake of Last of us part one coming this fall.

But we all want dat GOW.

Like seriously you take fun avatar bet threads serious? We are all having a laugh and fun, I cant wait to see what kyliethicc kyliethicc comes up with for an avatar, probably something utterly crazy.
