Not really helping your case when you need to argue that yeah one game was busted but the other was worse in regards to a publisher willing to release a broken game…

But why apply that to God of War if we are looking at history?

I doubt we have any conclusive evidence that Sony is going to release the game broken just so they can hit 2022.

I don’t think god of war will have any issues, my response that you originally quoted was someone saying Sony would never release a buggy game like that.

If people complain it will be them saying it’s to much like the last one. I hope it is that game kicks ass.

I don’t believe Sony would release games as bad as Cyberpunk or Fallout 76 but I do agree that they have released some buggy games. Like for example I never experienced something as bad as Skyrim (PS3 version) with a Sony 1st party title. Days Gone is probably one of worst ones but I never played it.

I was LTTP and played it last month on the PS5. Was nice and smooth 4K/60, platted it, and ran into no bugs. They did a lot to sure up the game I assume, and it may just have been top 3 PS4 GOTG for me.

I really should do a LTTP thread. Enjoyed every moment of the gameplay.

I knows Days Gone had issues when it launched but it certainly wasn’t anywhere near as bad as that game. Cyberpunk is legendary due to the issues the game had at launch. Not to mention the whole situation with the refunds and investors not being happy with the product. Really big mess when compared to Days Gone.

However that doesn’t make Days Gone perfect by any means.

Days Gone released with a few issues that got fixed shortly after launch, but wasn't broken. It was a good, solid game with some minor bugs and performance issues at launch, not a big issue. The console versions (specially old gen) of Cyberpunk were a broken mess.

It's also a very different case because Bend was a smaller team who made Days Gone as their first open world game, and also their first AAA home console game after many years (decades?) focusing on handheld games. Not the case of CD Project or Sony Santa Monica. Days Gone and Cyberpunk 2077 were new IPs for these studios, while Ragnarok is a continuist direct sequel. Meaning Ragnarok is supposed to be a smaller challenge for the team.

God of War Ragnarok was going to be a 2021, but delayed it to 2022 due to injuries of the main actor, so I assume they moved the pending cutscenes for the next year, and I assume while waiting they also did use that extra time to further polish and bugfix the rest of the game probably to recover some time lost with covid.

So I'm pretty sure that GoWR will not only release in 2022, but will be also in a very polished state at launch, as usual in Sony Santa Monica games. I think it doesn't make sense that it will be unpolished at launch as happened with Days Gone, Cyberpunk PS4, Skyrim PS3 or Fallout 76 (each one at a different level). I think it will be polished as GoW 2018, GoW III remastered, GoW Ascension or GoW III were at launch.

The devs are pretty competent. They surely must have used that extra time to polish the heck out of the game instead of trying to save it from a broken state. And your absolutely right about the actor. The only reason we were given for the first delay was due to his injuries. He officially confirmed it over Twitter.

Just looking at some of the rumors I haven’t seen any indication of an incoming delay due to the game having technical issues. Also the employees have already confirmed they are applying the finishing touches so we should see it soon.

While I do believe a delay can happen I haven’t seen any indication of one besides wishful thinking and that game reactor article.

God of war 2018 did actually have like 7 to 8 patches in the first week and there were players losing saves and all sorts. I didn't have a single issue but I remember seeing the complaints online at launch. So anything is possible with these new releases launching in covid years.

Majority of people wouldn't have issues though.

I didn’t have any issues either with God of War 2018. I guess it was pretty solid compared to many other games at launch. I guess there’s a big difference with having a few bugs at launch then a game being completely broken. From my experience Skyrim on the PS3 was unplayable at launch. That’s the worst experience that I had with a game at release.

Game delays are common in game development, but they already delayed this game from 2021 to 2022 and as mentioned doesn't seem to be because of gamedev issues. This studio has a great track record of delivering very solid and polished games.

So yes, a delay can always be posible specially inside 2022. But highly unlikely at this point to see it delayed to 2023, specially because of hints like the comments from the devs, getting the rating in Korea, the merchandising stuff, etc.

I think any "rumor" or comment related to this game having technical or development issues or saying it will be delayed 2023 it's just plain fanboy wishes bullshit. People butthurted because games like Zelda or Starfield got delayed to 2023 so they want Sony to also delay their main new game for the 2nd half of this year.

Yeah it’s curious how all these rumors started to pop up after Starfield got delayed. Not saying a delay can’t happen but there’s definitely some ill will behind some of these rumors.

*cough* Days Gone *cough*
Lmfao Cyberpunk wishes!

Plus one was a new IP from a studio that was making portable games for a while vs one of Sony's biggest IPs ever.

You guys really try to pretend Cyberpunk was playable on release huh...

Days Gone wasn't fully optimised, but it was still playable from day one with nearly not as many bugs and crashes as that game you mentioned. The game was a scam and barely functional...and everyone played it with the day one patch. Imagine how it was if you would install it on PS4 with not even that one installed.

Straight classic! Not surprising that people here don't know what it is. Amazing movie, go check it out.

I’ve watched many black and white classics. A lot of those movies are available for free so it’s definitely worth watching many of them.

By free I don’t mean piracy btw.

B+W was a creative choice for this movie, colour movies had been around for about 15 years at that point so it's not as old as it might appear.

Had no idea about that. I’ve seen movies with interesting color Pallets like Sin City for example so I know it’s been done before.
