Gerstmann seems kind of crazy with all his Covid paranoia. I never stopped going to work throughout the entire pandemic, and he is terrified of going to a grocery store in 2022.

Have to assume he got the sack. He was clearly a negative influence on the place for a while. Change can be healthy. I used to love Jeff but the people around him made me drop the bombcast. I gave his new pod a go and had to turn off when he was still somehow fear mongering around covid in the summer of 2022. Will always respect and support him but his attitude and views suck these days.

I think the recent changes might be good for Giantbomb. Nothing against Jeff but as a long time follower it was hard not be disappointed by how little gaming related content they had been putting out the last few years, while seemingly focusing on more non gaming stuff.

I got banned from r/games for saying that exact thing. It was for 'downplaying the fear of dying to Covid'. I said it was that Jeff lived in fear. I said it was unhealthy and he is vaccinated I believe, and one can wear masks out in public. Heck the CDC said it was ok to go out in public. They thought I downplayed it. Geez!

I know one of the people from GB died a few years ago as a result of being overweight.

Irrespective of whether it's Covid or not... Being overweight is not healthy. Staying indoors isn't healthy either.

Like... How much exercise can you get if you stay indoors all day?

From what I can see... Jeff doesn't exactly look like the sort of person who exercises at home. Or really pays attention to what he eats.

I worked throughout all of the lockdowns... And despite me working (and traveling everyday to work), whilst all the gyms were closed, I still went from a solid M to a solid L size.

I can't even imagine how little exercise Jeff does whilst being cooped up in his house.

These are lazy people who should be told to get off their sofa and go for a brisk 30 minute walk every day.

Listened to the first Podcast and it was an absolute mess in my opinion. I mean he seemed to notice it himself judging by how often he said "what am I even talking about haha". I know this was thrown together in a short period of time but for someone that has done podcasts for years now, this seemed weird. This had awkward written all over it.

That's exactly what I thought about some of the Bombcasts that I have listened to.

I just don't understand the fascination.

Dude has a history of literally talking about nothing "interesting" for 3 hours and gets 6k people supporting him.

Jeff makes good money and does not need to get out often. In Jeff's latest podcast, he talked about going to LA to play some games with people around. Its not like hes shutting in forever, he just prefers being in his house and not taking everyday commutes. If I had the money I would work from my home just to avoid traffic altogether.

Also, its his decision, that's his business. Whatever you or I think of it is of no consequence.
