I would prefer digital, but my blistering fast 25 Mbps internet makes big games a pain, especially with kids watching junk on their screens.

I should know better than to trust Amazon on preorders. FF7R took almost 2 weeks to get, and The Last of Us 2 was delayed a week. Sucks.

Now you mention it your right! Not the biggest fan of ghost but sucker punch are masters of tight controls. Infamous had controls ahead it's time as well.

You got crazy amount ranged and melee options at your fingertips without pausing or going into menus.

Haven't been his hyped for a game since The Last of Us: Part II. Its only these 2 franchises that get me excited to play like this. Truly Sonys top tier

Of course the clock went back to make the final few hours feel even fucking longer.

I agree. THIS GAME is THE biggest one for me.

I can get pretty hyped for others but not like this.

No, if you switch to hard you can't return to gimme a god of war.

They said this time is better balanced but i'm reading that is even harder than the first game because enemy variety is much bigger.

Infamous 1-2 climbing\parkour was pretty meh, there was a strange magnetism that fucked up precision movements.

They straigh up solved the problem in second son by giving you powers that bypass climbing, but the climbing itself was still a bit clunky.

And this come from a HUGE infamous fanboy.

same with me. i remember launching lou2 and playing for like 6hrs straight, it was so above and beyond every single other game on the market that it fucked me up for a whole year and i couldnt enjoy anything else after. everything i played after that game felt like a downgrade from graphics to animations and performances and i have a feeling ragnarok is taking that crown away tonight. it might not be a next gen only game but playing ragnarok with all the bells and whistles at 90fps 120hz on a console is a dream. i played the 2018 original at 30fps on checkered 4k..

Easy solution: stop buying physical. Resale on a single game is less than spending 6 dollars a day for a whole month on coffee.

Same here. Its still the same for me, nothing has come even close since that game, raised my standards significantly. If Ragnarok even approaches the same experience I had with that game it'll enter my top 3 all time list.

Played through the first world where you‘re releasing the big thingy. It plays absolutely awesome but I can already see that it would‘ve looked better if it were a PS5 exclusive game. The water physics and graphics just look a little bit dull, I don‘t see much difference to the first God of War on PS4 Pro, but that looked great so I‘m ok with Ragnarok being just as good with better performance. Maybe there‘s a huge difference by comparing screenshots but ingame it feels like it‘s a very close gap between GoW and Ragnarok.

Well I played for about two hours. Glad to say it looks like none of the reviews I watched (and I watched quite some) spoiled anything more than that.

One thing I'm missing: the hold-R2 charging cleaving attack with the leviathan axe. It just felt so satisfying. Sad that it seems to be gone.

In the same boat, I would start with the 1800p-2160p unlocked 40 FPS with VRR mode. Then if you feel its too slow, switch it to the performance 1440p-2160p mode 60 FPS mode. I don't think locked 1440p is worth it for higher then 60 frame rates, you won't notice as much above 60. Digital Foundry said the performance 1440p-2160p mode rarely ever drops below 1800p.. It's a big resolution bump from 1440p. But my opinion is to stick to the unlocked 40 FPS with VRR if you can because there are a lot nicer details that performance mode cuts out like higher asset details, textures, shadowing and reflections.

Been playing it since about 6pm GMT.

Done the dwarf relm, the playing as Atreus part afterwards is dog shit. It's typical moody teen writing. Rest of the game so far has been good. Just didn't think Atreus could get on my tits anymore than he did in 2018

Also, fidelity mode with HFR enabled feels great. Haven't bothered trying performance mode with it enabled. Yet

Jesus christ. I've played for 2 hours...if this is "the same game" and "dlc" then holy crap.

They really throw Freya, Odin, Thor, and at least 3 or 4 boss fights like it is nothing in this small time frame, lmao!

Here in Portugal it's 2am and the only reason why i'm stopping is that thing called...work that i have tomorrow.

Playstation is getting quite premium with their releases for a while and this is a new high for them. You can always tell when it's a first party from them. The amount of options they throw at you for a console only game, the presentation, audio, voice acting, cut scene quality, mocap...this is seriously A+ and something we've barely seen this year.

3 months ago we were thinking if they would either release this game in a rush during this fall or delay the game...but not only did they release this in an impeccable state, they actually released a full product, no broken graphical options (looking at forbidden west here and TLOUR that removed the 40fps option) and we got all of it on day one.

It's also obvious how their first party keep trying to up each other with a lot of these options as well. Can't wait for tomorrow after work, lol.

Yeah, I'd avoid Amazon. Better to pick up in store somewhere. I ordered Cyberpunk from them and it didn't arrive on time.

I'd only buy from Amazon if it's an older game and I don't care necessarily the time that it gets to me.
