These guys could make a nice God of War VR game. Just have Kratos and Atreus talk through tons of stories while you paddle.
Water looks nice too.

Oh, just imagine a series of different routes you could take, each one having a different character from the game (and maybe even other PS5 games like Aloy, or Joel (RIP) and Ellie), talking (and singing) to Kratos like Carpool KaraokeThese guys could make a nice God of War VR game. Just put a fan on blast in front of you for added immersion.I reckon I’d enjoy that - looks nice and chilled.
PSVR2 is more powerful than current PC VR’s.I got this on PC. It's incredibly boring, limited, and not as immersive as I would have liked it to be. And that's with maxed out settings. With a PS5 powering it, I'd imagine the graphics will be even less impressive.

It’ll look the same if not better.
VR device handles things like resolution and screen door. The GPU wouldn’t be hard pressed on something like this. That doesn't make any sense. VR device isn't powering the graphics. The console is.

It’s like if you have a 1080P TV, you won’t see games in 4K. The image explains the difference in the first column “Pixels per eye”.What do you mean it handles resolution? There’s a processor and GPU in PSVR2? Because if there isn’t, then it isn’t handling anything.

Sorry but that is incorrect.Yeah no, it doesn't work like that. The guy you replied to was more accurate.
Sorry but that is incorrect.
The GPU cannot push past what the device allows.
Yeah, he wasn’t understanding. What headset do you have? Are you for real..? You guys are talking about two different things. And the PSVR2 is not the only one with those resolution specs btw. I know because I have a 4K VR headset already..
The PSVR2 is within 10% resolution of the quest2 with a much larger FOV so likely has less pixel density. Even with the same FOV the 10% difference would be barely noticeable. Let's not go overboard and start imagining it's gonna have anything like the effect the 400% increase in pixel density that going from 1080p to 4k has. It’s like if you have a 1080P TV, you won’t see games in 4K. I bought it on Steam, had a nice hour worth of zen entertainment before I refunded it. It was ok, but the animations were terrible, and it was kinda boring
Played for a half hour and will never touch again.
Kind of VR game that would have been novel for me 8 years ago.
Yeah, he wasn’t understanding. What headset do you have?
I mean it's Kayaking. I have done it plenty of times in various places around U.S. and Asia. I don't like it enough to spend my time with it virtually however.Ouch.... doesn't sound so hot.

The OLED display would likely be a bigger difference than the res.
Resolution is graphics? The guy you were originally replying to was talking about the graphics, not display resolution. He played it on PC and said even with maxed out settings, he wasn’t impressed. The PS5 may not be able to run the game at max settings, so it may not look as good, even though yes, the display of the PSVR2 is OLED and has a higher resolution.
Not to mention lenses, the 2 new ones so far this year are using pancake lenses (pico/quest pro) and the crystal you are looking at is using aspherical lenses like the varjo devices. These are arguably much more important than a small resolution difference which the g2 comes out infront in anyway.Reverb G2. I mostly use it for flight simulators and racing sims. But the new Pimax launching in the end of the year has 5,760 x 3,240 per eye, (200 degrees horizontal FOV (135 vertical), 200Hz QLED, and with eye and face tracking).
Disclaimer: The PSVR2 is a great solid piece of VR hardware. Not trying to downplay it at all. Just pointing out that the list of VR headsets posted earlier isn't telling the whole story.
Resolution is graphics?
The greater the resolution, the more pixels on screen, the more impressive the graphics.
Sure, but in this case we’re looking at a simple game, nothing GPU intensive. And the harder it is for the graphics card to run. Thats why the ps5 may not be able to max out the settings and thus graphical quality might be less than a top of the line PC.

Agreed, but we do already know the PC specs.Depends on more than that e.g. artistry, creativity, math, IQ etc. There are lots that go into how much an engine and game can push on what hardware/OS/drivers etc. Even more when you talk about Kayaking VR immersion e.g. audio, animation, physics etc.
Also, glad Sony are supporting VR and non-games like Kayak VR. Good stuff.
RECOMMENDED:
- OS: Windows 10
- Processor: Ryzen 3600 / Intel i5 9600K
- Memory: 16 GB RAM
- Graphics: Nvidia GeForce 2080
- DirectX: Version 11
- Storage: 18 GB available space

The minimum specs are way lower again.Seems like pretty reasonable rec specs there. Doubt that rig is pushing anything 4K + 60-120fps with any levels of "realism" in Kayak VR. Family and I love Kayaking, own two of them. I've been watching this game for a bit but not enough to pull the trigger on a home VR system, yet.
Kayak VR: Mirage is coming to PS VR2 on February 22nd 2023.
Paddle through the ice caves in Antarctica, kayak with dolphins in Costa Rica, conquer a thunderstorm in Norway and discover the canyons of Australia. In Kayak VR: Mirage, made exclusively for VR, you can explore these real world locations with photorealistic graphics.
