Holy shit the Eikon clashes trailer inn the PAX video, along with combat and environments.
Top 3 FF ever in the making here.
They showed off 3 different mini trailers in their PAX presentation. This environment mini trailer that they've only put on their Twitter for some reason (so its blurry AF) is only 1/3 from the full presentation. 720p filth but still looks unreal.Where?
This looks like an actual large continent / game world, rather than what felt like a large Island in XV without any variety or civilisation lol. Feels completely different to me.Reminds me a lot of FFXV, but better.

Of course, I was following the project closely since Versus days lol and completed it from start to finish. I believe many would agree with me that the way you traverse through the game world and the incomplete regions made it feels more like traversing through one big island rather than different countries each with a distinct culture/lore. Whilst XVI gives me the impression it will feel that way, similar to FFX, FFXII etc..Have you played FFXV?
Not a bad thing for me, I liked FFXV quite a bit though it had more potential.
No other accompying media, one game. Yoshida and team clear on that from the start. Not paid any attention to this one but to sum up, does it have any of the bullshittery of XV?
As in, do you need to watch other media to go with it? Is it a whole game? Is it more akin to VII, VIII, IX?
is it an actual Final Fantasy proper?
Thank god.No other accompying media, one game. Yoshida and team clear on that from the start.
Agreed on this looking a lot better. I've been wanting a trailer that just showed off the world we'll be traveling through. This actually has me for once interested in the game. Now create a trailer to show off the world but in the more calm times of the games. This looks much better than the cinematic cutscenes and combat arena trailers we've been getting. Although it still appears to be quite unashamedly linear in certain areas, the zones that looked more open are encouraging. However, I'm wondering what there is to do in these areas, besides more combat. I'll be looking forward to watching some no commentary play throughs before I make my decision to buy.
Then i'm all inNo other accompying media, one game. Yoshida and team clear on that from the start.

Fair argument and happy to roll back on the lack of civilisation claim in XV. However can feel there's a difference in XVI where the developers have regularly emphasised there will be 6 distinct kingdoms, you go to all these kingdoms and learn about the different characters and political issues within each. I'm sure some will be more fleshed out than others, but each will be emphasized with a dominant/Eikon to represent them.Yea I gotta agree with Boneless on this one. I haven't seen enough of FFXVI to really make such claims, you don't even know how much of any of that shit is just window dressing.
So...lets go off of factually what we objectively see, not this shit of just assuming and making up fanfiction in our minds and by the time the game releases, we've now make a whole ass fake notion of what the world is or something.
As far as I can see, they are both open worlds, both have cities and areas with variety and differences, both have mounts etc. I have nothing against someone liking one game over another or something, but relax on this wild hyperbole and exaggeration.
So with all due respect, FFXV had some issues, variety wasn't one of em. Even keeping with this logic could directly go against your very fucking point, where is the modern cities in FFXVI? Diners? Gas stations?
Think a bit slower on this one man, FFXV not only had modern cities, they also had many towns that are more so less hi tech on top of dungeons like caves as being in the future, doesn't mean elements of the past don't exist....
Being in the past isn't magically going to have diners, gas stations and futuristic cities though, so I can't see any point or claim in one having variety vs the other. FFXVI looks like they will have a nice balance of different cities and towns, but not enough to claim FFXV lacked that or something odd like that.
I also don't see anything regarding your "civilisation" claim...
I will advise that you just do what I do when it comes to FF in the HD era. The devs all and will always take up a storm. And no matter how many environments you see, it doesn't speak to how much content is actually in those spaces.Fair argument and happy to roll back on the lack of civilisation claim in XV. I think my criticism on XV for being undercooked is valid, as you see little of Nifelheim, Tenebrae and learn little about them in the game. Solheim was cut. Insomnia just serves entirely as a final dungeon and cut from opening. Altissia and Lestallum were more fleshed out though and give a better impression of the game world.
Also think it's a fair argument to make that traversal wise, the car made travelling too quick and the map wasn't big enough to give the impression you have just trekked halfway across the world to reach a new kingdom.
That's what has me worried. It was too spread out, and filled with bullshit side quests. That is the way of open world games, is to pad them out with nonsense. Hope that isn't the case here, but probably will be.Reminds me a lot of FFXV, but better.
FFXV art design, and maybe even graphics look farrrrr better.Yea I gotta agree with Boneless on this one. I haven't seen enough of FFXVI to really make such claims, you don't even know how much of any of that shit is just window dressing.
