Well the CMA (and now MS) are saying the new offer from MS will create a new relevant merger and that the CMA will short circuit a decision on that.

But as the chair pointed out, for that to be possible they’re aaying this merger has come to an end and a new merger is commencing.

And now both the CMA and MS are trying to back pedal on that.

TLDR this won’t be decided today or tomorrow in the UK. If MS won’t close without a deal of some sort in the UK, then they won’t be closing until after the 18th July given the timescales being discussed.

To me it looks like both MS and CMA are in agreement (the divestment of cloud in UK probably) and they need this judge to play ball. Both parties dancing around it for legality sake
