I didn't initially believe him when he first said these things but he seems to be standing by it
Gamepass is not an Xbox console *technically*.“We have no goal of somehow using Call of Duty to get you to buy an Xbox console.”
Sounds like you wasted your money Phil. What’s the point then?
Getting the profits of the huge sales COD does every year it releases.“We have no goal of somehow using Call of Duty to get you to buy an Xbox console.”

When he is talking about the biggest acquisition in gaming history, yeah its going to be one of those days and likely warrantedoh my! its one of those 40 separate "phil says" threads days, isn't it?
Yup.“We have no goal of somehow using Call of Duty to get you to buy an Xbox console.”

Who's to blame when this inevitably ends up being a false statement?
Phil wants to be the friend of gamers and at the same time the president of gaming. That's not how it works. This is why he gets so much shit.

he should pretty much give up the "can't we all love each other" charade now. its vomit inducing.Who's to blame when this inevitably ends up being a false statement?

Starting next year, all Call of Duty games are going to look and run like shit, so they can have "feature parity" with the Switch.Even on Nintendo? I'll believe it when I see it...
He expects us to believe that he spent $70 billion to make games for PlayStation.“We have no goal of somehow using Call of Duty to get you to buy an Xbox console.”

Yep.No more additional load out slots to one platform.
No more exclusive XP boosts to one platform.
No more exclusive operators on one platform.
Activision is a cash cow that can be used to prop up the rest of the division.“We have no goal of somehow using Call of Duty to get you to buy an Xbox console.”

Pay attention he has been pointing out that selling consoles actually cost them money for the last year or so they don't really want us to buy Xbox Series S/X & having games like Candy Crush , Minecraft & Call of Duty means they never have to sell another Xbox as long as people stay addicted to these games.
Makes sense.
Pissing off a substantial part of your audience right as you become the new owner of the franchise they enjoy would be pretty poor PR.
At least for the first few years the argument shouldn't be "COD is better on Xbox" but "COD is $70 on Playstation but it's included in gamepass on Xbox and PC"
I didn't initially believe him when he first said these things but he seems to be standing by it
I can't see it on the switch, well if it is it will be cod mobile or a cloud version. A switch native version would be compromised in so many ways it would be a laughing stock.Starting next year, all Call of Duty games are going to look and run like shit, so they can have "feature parity" with the Switch.
The point was to slow sony down and get more content for game pass.“We have no goal of somehow using Call of Duty to get you to buy an Xbox console.”

If they don't mess it up Candy Crush could bring a good chunk of that money back on it's own without anyone buying a XboxCan’t increase Game Pass subs without increasing Xbox console sales. Their eggs are all in that basket.
