2021 PS5 exclusive and $70 vs. $40.How did R&C 2016 manage 7M+ but Rift Apart will probably struggle to break 4M?
Maybe they should have continued with the reboot after all.

Also keep in mind that now it is much more expensive to hire From to do a game - they have become much more prestigious studio now.Exactly. And the RoI from Bloodborne wasn't deemed high enough to greenlight a sequel.
It's just simple math.
Too many people are willing to believe untrue things just because they personally liked a game.

So Days Gone sold way better than Death Stranding, but Bend was not allowed to make a sequel but Kojima got his bag?

Hacker group who asked Sony for $2M worth of BTC but Sony refused to comply.Who or what the fuck is leaking all of this?
Also shitcanning any chance of a Days Gone sequel will forever sting.
Yup. This is why crossgen exists. Demand for new Sony consoles is too high to meet. Even if the splits are 70-30 that 30% at $49.99-$69.99 mattersPS4 game vs PS5 exclusive game (when PS5 was basically impossible to buy)
You do the math
Not with first games. Nintendo wasn’t selling 30 million copies of Zelda before.
Absolute shit show from Sony here. If they expect new IP to hit 10 million out of the gate then lol
The chart shows Net Sales per game, not Net profit per game.Looking at the chart:
-Both Days Gone and Bloodborne had actually very good PPUs (profit per units) coupled with long legs. TLOU 2 had a great PPU too.
-Until Dawn and Horizon mostly sold at discount.
-Ghost of Tsushima is likely their biggest budget to net profit ratio (if the 60 million USD budget is true), no wonder why its a game that stores tend to not offer discounts like they do with the rest.
The greatest leak of all time. insane sales for Days gone and DriveClub. I dont understand Sony.
It already has, showing number of players and average player time. When the document with engagement numbers will leak?
We need the really important data here.
Do you have a link to the bolded?Sorry bro but these are mostly PS4 era sales. Pre 2022.
Latest figures from Sony's own fiscal year reports state that the digital split is now 75% for their first party games.
i recall seeing the 75% figure recently. maybe it was 67% and i misremembered.Wait, that doesn't make sense since we know from their latest report that the digital split is 67% for software that sells both physically and digitally (3P + 1P). Don't have the 1st party split on hand but surely it's not 75%?
I think the dev said most of its sales were at a discounted price, selling 4-5 million copies at $20 a pop doesn’t make a big return ? Idk but the game running on ps4 pro/5 at 60 fps 1440-2160p played so well I was shocked the game reviewed as badly as it did. Some of these sold waaaay more than I thought. 7M of Days Gone and they didn’t want to make a sequel?
You got s in the Alan Wake 2 thread arguing with me that physical is dead and wouldn’t help sales. Where yall at adamsapple and Alan Wake .Look at those digital splits Thick Thighs Save Lives rofif And all my other physical brothers, so much for this being the last gen with discs.
It did not. Thats TLOU PS4 version. When you combine the PS3 version the total of TLOU copies are way higher.Horizon outsold TLOU huge surprise to me.
Who or what the fuck is leaking all of this?

The thing is that the split has remained mostly unchanged for some time now, and even lowered a bit in favor of physical post-pandemic. Anyway, physical is not really dying like some people on the interwebz proclaim, or if it is it's a rather slow one (on Sony and Nintendo consoles), which means PS6 will most likely come with a disc drive.i recall seeing the 75% figure recently. maybe it was 67% and i misremembered.
Days Gone went through development hell. It took 6 years to release and when it did it was a buggy mess. DS took 3.5 years development time with a brand new studio led by Kojima. For investment in future projects, Sony betting on Kojima over Bend studios in 2019 makes complete senseSo Days Gone sold way better than Death Stranding, but Bend was not allowed to make a sequel but Kojima got his bag?
Well yeah. Suckerpunch put that game together in like 3/4 actual dev years at most. Unlike some Sony first party studios that have twice the staff and have 5/6/7 year dev cycles lolGhost of Tsushima is probably their biggest net profit for a new IP.
Net Sales in millions of USD at the right. The chart shows Net Sales per game, not Net profit per game.
Yeah I guess it just became a money issue.. But still, even if it reached these numbers at a discount that’s a LOT of exposure for a brand new IP.I think the dev said most of its sales were at a discounted price, selling 4-5 million copies at $20 a pop doesn’t make a big return ? Idk but the game running on ps4 pro/5 at 60 fps 1440-2160p played so well I was shocked the game reviewed as badly as it did.
Infamous Second son came out in March 2014.Well yeah. Suckerpunch put that game together in like 3/4 actual dev years at most. Unlike some Sony first party studios that have twice the staff and have 5/6/7 year dev cycles lol
And if the retards actually paid attention to the game, instead of being the bigoted trash NPCs they are in life, they would have noticed the game was pretty damned progressive for a 1%er biker stereotype. But no, they complained about the gruff white male commenting on his GF/Wife's ass.It was "problematic" according to some reviewers (Sony is very woke since then) plus metacritic wasn't very high.
Buy yeah, they could make sequel that would be better in every way (like Uncharted 2) and sell millions.
That's what I thought!Look at those digital splits Thick Thighs Save Lives rofif And all my other physical brothers, so much for this being the last gen with discs.
It did not. Thats TLOU PS4 version. When you combine the PS3 version the total of TLOU copies are way higher.
Almost 13 million for GT Sport, 12.7m sold. Last oficial info i think was about 8 million players, some years ago. Pretty good for a game that released barebones and had weak sales at the start.
Exactly. And the RoI from Bloodborne wasn't deemed high enough to greenlight a sequel.
It's just simple math.

Leak is from before Feb 2023.No Forbidden West sales numbers?
yep. there was an interracial lesbian couple. black bikers. Indian love interest. And even christain zealots as the main bad guy.And if the retards actually paid attention to the game, instead of being the bigoted trash NPCs they are in life, they would have noticed the game was pretty damned progressive for a 1%er biker stereotype. Days Gone 2 was rejected by studio heads over at Bend. not Sony themselves. So Days Gone sold way better than Death Stranding, but Bend was not allowed to make a sequel but Kojima got his bag?
One might say, its time to holster... The Hulst.Jimbo is going anyway and Hulst has given us fuck all but safe sequels of late.
So yes, fire him.
Yeah. Forcing Bend to work on The Last of Us Online which was now cancelled was way better use of their time...It’s almost as if greenlighting a game is based on more than just what the previous game sold
This has to be fake. Gran Turismo Sport didn’t sell 13 million copies
