Surprised Nintendo settled for just a small payout. Maybe they aren’t so confident on their legal take about emulation.

Good luck finding proper engineers a. being able to write an emulator like this and b. taking the risk to do so.
ThisThe code is already written. Nintendo can't stop me from compiling it.
yep, especially with a build having been published today, anyone with interest is going to download it + the source code and make backupsI'm going down that list and two words keep coming to my mind: "too late"
But how complete is Yuzu? I'm sure nobody is going to work on this code base anymore, at least not the people originally working on it. That means they've lost good developers to fix issues, bugs and further implementations of Switch software. Although Ruyjinx is still going strong or something, lol.The code is already written. afaik they had a Patreon up where people got special access to nightly builds/early access builds or something in exchange for "donations".Where Yuzu folks will get that money?
They gave them basically everything they wanted and maybe some more.Damn.....that was really fast.
So much for the theory that Nintendo wanted this to go to court.
the point of going to court would be to see if they could get a new precedent, instead this is just Nintendo using their money to bully people that can’t afford to stand up to them in court ($2.4 million might actually be cheaper for Yuzu than lawyers would have cost even if they won)They gave them basically everything they wanted and maybe some more.

This document basically asks the court to enter the settlement as described and end the case.I am pretty sure is going to be down after the Final Judgment and Permanent Injunction… Those guys don’t want to mess with Nintendo.
Risky tactic because the court might have found against Nintendo on something.the point of going to court would be to see if they could get a new precedent, instead this is just Nintendo using their money to bully people that can’t afford to stand up to them in court ($2.4 million might actually be cheaper for Yuzu than lawyers would have cost even if they won)
Virtually nothing stopping the devs from closing down the company and resuming their work on another fork, probably working on Switch 2 support too. Especially since this applies to tropic haze and not the individuals.Yuzu works perfectly fine as it is. This injunction applies to Tropic Haze. No one else. Others can take this source code and make modifications on their own. And after this news, I'm betting the number of forks of this code is skyrocketing.
Then Nintendo will have $5 million ... that they can use to develop their next 35 AAA games. Now sue Ryujinx to get another $2.5 mil
Yuzu has been on hold since the lawsuit was announced. What is updated are the autobuilds, but there is no new code.yep, especially with a build having been published today, anyone with interest is going to download it + the source code and make backups
I'll never understand why people think Nintendo won't come for them.
I don't want to say something like "I will kiss you if you're right" because I really don't want to kiss you ... but I hope you're right.Yuzu works perfectly fine as it is. The only precedent this case will set is that you can't even teach people how to dump their switch prod keys anymore.

These guys made 2.5M on patreon? Sheesh. People were really thirsty for that build around TOTK launch.
I find Ryujinx to be a bit better anyway. Let’s see which runs Unicorn Overlord better.

I'd maybe go download the latest mainline build from Yuzu's website right now, just in case.
And I'll play them on Ryujinx (or Switch 2).Then Nintendo will have $5 million ... that they can use to develop their next 35 AAA games.
Ryujinx is more compatible, but personally I use it simply because it tracks time played. The silliest of reasons. These guys made 2.5M on patreon? Sheesh. People were really thirsty for that build around TOTK launch.

Isn't Ryu slower? From my experience it has more trouble eith shader comp stutter.Ryujinx is more compatible, but personally I use it simply because it tracks time played. The silliest of reasons.
If Ryu had the controller input settings that Yuzu had it would be perfect. Was never a fan of their UI.Ryujinx is more compatible, but personally I use it simply because it tracks time played. The silliest of reasons.

Ryujinx just had a major UI update the other day. Check it out.If Ryu had the controller input settings that Yuzu had it would be perfect. Was never a fan of their UI.
Nintendo is going to be ok receiving 2.5 million with every version (name pending)Yuzu is dead, long live Juzu (name pending).
I'm a Yuzu fan. So I must hate you for this. Sorry. And I'll play them on Ryujinx (or Switch 2).
Not as Yuzu, they must also hand the website over to Nintendo.Do they get to still offer the emulator?

Why the group is not based in Russia or other free country?
Good luck seeing any of them gain enough adoption or traction imo. There are over 4.2k forks of yuzu on github.
