Seriously... BRAND NEW EXPERIENCE HERE.

Crazy, I've never heard of CCC being able to do that. I've never seen the "Power" category, mine just goes from performance to information. Glad you got it figured out! Reminds me one time after accidentally pushing my CMOS button for some reason my mobo drastically underclocked my CPU from 3 Ghz stock (I was actually at 3.6) to something like 1.5. I could not for the life of me figure out why the hell Fallout 3 giving me such terrible framerates.

That looks cool. But I hope those making these mods take into consideration those of us that play some PC games with a controller. Skyrim plays amazing well with a control pad.

I know nothing about designing UIs, but I feel like whenever someone tries to design a UI that is controller friendly, it by definition becomes not as good as it could be for kb/m.

I believe this is a mock-up UI this guy is planning on doing? Not quite sure of the details...

All I can say is FUCK YES - it does have a somewhat "web-page" feel to it. But it addresses a lot of the issues I'm having with the UI right now, and houses a lot of information that is nice to see.

Thoughts?

Looks amazing. I hope at some point they can do mods like that.

Crashing all the time now. The first 25 hours were very stable too. Don't know what's up.

Same here. Could it be the common problem experienced by Bethesda games where the save file gets too large and then it starts crashing? Apparently it's a problem with the PS3 version, maybe it's affecting the PC as well?

Oh god I love the FXAA Post Processing Injector so much. I really REALLY didn't like how next gen doo doo brown everything was. I sharpened it up, desaturated it, and added a tinge of blue (the light from an overcast sky is about 6500 Kelvins, which is towards the blue end of the spectrum, so it's lore appropriate):

Might be hard to see but it really makes the cloth pop on that guy's robes. I'm sure some other members of the master race would disagree but I feel like I'm getting a high res texture pack for free with no loss in performance. And I'm not even rolling with shadows on ultra.

All the other mods have been great too. I love the wood table reskin, and I have another one that makes gold pieces less orange and look more burnished and worn.

Can someone please give me a link or quickly explain all the different AA options you can force through the Nivida Inspector?

I see people referencing MSAA a lot as well but I don't see an option for that...

Right now I just set it to 32x CSAA for no reason really. I can already tell it looks better than FXAA but my PC could handle more if it's available.

Thanks.

Anyone have an idea as to what line you could add into the .ini files to change the draw distance of SHRUBBERY? I don;t mean grass, i mean thinks like shrubbery and cabbage even for example seems to be tied into the same variable. It's NOT object draw distance, i have messed with that setting, and it's not grass or tree.

FXAA works fantastically in games using deferred renderers, but in Skyrim all it does is smooth out the entire screen, leading to a loss of overall detail. As such it should be used as a last resort, hence why it's only enabled by the devs on Medium settings.

In addition to the 8xMSAA set via the launcher I use these too: http://www.abload.de/img/updatedinspectorsetti2hex9.png

Modify your settings to look exactly as shown below.

A Large Address Aware patch to the TESV.exe is essential for safe uGrids tweaking, and even then the results are entirely subject to your system specs and the drive you're running the game from. You're totally overloading the game's streaming system by doing this, so you'll probably need the entire game installed on an SSD for stability and performance. The aforementioned exe is a 32bit application that can't, by default, use more than 2gb of RAM. This is insufficient. By following this (very simple) method, you can give Skyrim full access to all the RAM it needs, provided you have enough:

Do we target the launcher or TESV.exe?

I like my information obscured and available only after clicking and scrolling through tons of unrelated items thankyouverymuch.

I'm having a weird issue with my system:

i7-620m (3.2ghz)
5870m (1gb)
4GB
Win7 64-bit

In certain areas I get stuttering mouse movements. It seems to me this happens when there are either quite a lot of light sources or a lot of fog (alpha stuff?). The weird thing is that when I use my gamepad to move my viewpoint there is no stuttering.

I have tried various mice with different polling rates and all kinds of ini configurations (from low to high). iPresentInterval=0, iFPSClamp=30 didn't fix it either. It's not the lag you get from VSYNC.

The easiest place to test this is the Nightcaller Temple near Dawnstar. The first room as you enter the temple is the most problematic. Just turn your mouse slowly and you'll notice

Try this ini. Replace the name of the GPU, and set your resolution, make sure to go into options in game and set your mouse speed and such.

Is there a guide for any of these ini modifications yet? I haven't done anything other than set my FOV and since I'm starting to slow down in my play of the game it'd be nice to see how good I could get it looking.

System is an i5-750 @ 3.6 w/ gtx-460 if that helps ;o

theres no one definitive guide yet, they are posted in bits and pieces all over the place for now, plus theres ones that people somehow know to add into them that don;t exist, for example i couldnt stand how grass swayed like it was constantly being blown around, so someone showed me a line to add to tweak how much the grass sways.

try that ini i posted above. i have an i5 2500k and a gtx 560ti. that ini is the absolute best mix of quality and performance, no jagged shadows or anything. I have AA off though because im forcing it through nvidia inspector (get it if you dont already and set it to how I have it int he pic below) and I'm also forcing on ambient occlusion which eats up a load of FPS but worth it if it means i have to keep AA on low. Fxaa is nice to soften the pixelated look at mid and long range, looks more real with it on.

After pasting this ini , don't use the launcher or it will rewrite some things. And remember you have to set your resolution in there manually and paste your GPU's name in there as it appears in device manager (replace my 560 ti)

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried it but no change. Can someone else try to go to that location and tell me their results?

Hopefully someone can help me out on this...

I'm doing the Forbidden Legend quest and now have all three amulet pieces. I'm in Reachwater Rock and am stuck at the first puzzle door. I picked up the Dragon Claw from the nearby corpse of an adventurer and the claw points to the fact that the combo for the door in front of me (from top to bottom) is Bear/Whale/Snake. I enter those into the door, use the claw, and nothing....

Is this a bug or am I being obtuse on this one?

The issue is the shadow settings. I had to overcome it myself, and learned the hard way. Try taking a drastic move and make these settings as such:

iShadowFilter=1
iShadowMapResolution=4096
iShadowMapResolutionPrimary=4096
iShadowMapResolutionSecondary=4096
iShadowMaskQuarter=1
iShadowMode=1

also do not launch with the launcher, go right for the tesv.exe

And just for the hell of it, this is what you can expect with the ini I posted above and the nvidia inspector settings in the pic link.

Also, if youd like the background to be sharper like in this version, simply turn the "bdodepthoffield" in the ini to 0 from 1

There's no way to play the game through steam if I do ini modifications? :(

When keepin it real goes wrong. Very, very wrong.
Suprised how well my HD6770 is running this game..

All the textures ect on high, AA x2, af x8

40fps in open areas, upto 60 in closed.

Game looks so good.

I wonder if animations are moddable. I wanted to implement turning animation. Right now they just hover while turning most of times.

I remember there were a couple of animation mods for Fallout.

oh, it's so good. If people won't fix anything, I'll try to do some stuff. I think the community will be faster though.

But I wonder if it is possible to implement hit reactions and rework combat to be closer to Dark Messiah which is my favourite brawling game.

I've never seen trees in my life that look anywhere near closer to the top image than the bottom. Look up what evergreen trees actually look like. The grey in the top image is overwhelming, but at least you could probably say it's not as bad as Codemaster's piss filters..

Theres absolutely nothing in there thats going to break your game. It was created using http://donotargue.com/cfg-makers/skyrim/. Just back up the one youre using now and if you dont like mine for whatever reasons, just replace them, or delete mine and then use the launcher and it will make you a brand new default one.

if anything youd want a tungsten filter on it, that simulates daylight, not saturated green
