The 3DS Lineup For 2012 is HUGE... Best Lineup for any system next year

You don't need to tell everyone in every 3DS thread like you people doing the 'waiting' so often do.

Seriously, if that's your only input to a 3DS software thread, do the rest of us a favour and stay out. It adds absolutely nothing.
huh? my post said i was excited about the games...and i added that i would definitely be getting a few of them when i eventually buy the 3ds revision. what is this thread about if it's not about being excited for the games? would it have been better if i just said i was excited for the games?

well actual lineup definitely failed to live up to the title of this topic, that's for damn sure.

I still definitely want Paper Mario, Bravely Default (probably), Resident Evil Revelations, Fire Emblem and MAYBE Kid Icarus, if the flight segments are enough to make up for the mediocre on foot segments. Oh and Beyond the Labyrinth, dungeon crawling ftw.

Other than that, sequel to the worst franchise of all time Animal Crossing, sequel to the mediocre crown king Luigi's Mansion (skill-less hide-and-seek borefest that lasts about 2 hours, pass), mediocre port of Metal Gear Solid 3, Time Travelers superior on Vita, Rayman Origins I already own, Heroes of Ruin looks ugh-tastic, Tales of the Abyss is a port of an old PS2 title, I'm tired of the Professor Layton 99 cents puzzle formula, and KH can go shove it at this point.

Kind of a meh lineup all around, certainly not the best of any system next year. We'll see what gets announced at E3, you know how Nintendo loves to announce things last minute.

I agree with Amir0x 100%. I too have been to the future and played all these games and found them to be well below average to downright awful.

A redesign is pretty much expected sooner rather than latter after seeing the huge amount of colors and special editions that Nintendo is releasing in a short span of time.

yes i'd agree a redisign will happen at some point but be it in january or be it in 2014 i'm getting a bit sick of people saying they're waiting for a redisign in every single 3ds thread

I doubt all of those will be released in 2012. Fire Emblem and Paper Mario along with a few others almost make me bite on a 3DS. Almost.

I want a fair deal of games on that list, however, I refuse to buy this until there is a redesign, there desperately needs to be now that a second analog stick exists. I bought a 3DS at launch and sold it back pre price drop because of how disappointed I was.

It will get it's own e3 trailer and everything and an amazon listing will be put up shortly afterwards (followed by pre-orders). months pass and the game comes out in japan.

years pass. you have grown old and your children's children are in college. you are on your deathbed. you just realize fire emblem never actually came out in america and you remember "monado" didn't either. then you die.

That's very depressing.

Yes, but not by much. Nobody cares if you're waiting for a revision that has not been announced or even hinted as being imminent. Nobody would care even if it had been announced. Its irrelevant information. Do forgive me for being snappy and intolerant of it, I don't want to sound like I'm just being an arsehole, maybe I am - but its become such a pox on 3DS threads, coming across such statements time and time again, having to filter through them to get to the discussions on the actual games etc.

It's how every 3DS thread seems to go. Regular discussion broken up with the same old statements. We get it. And I'm not saying you're a regular culprit -- for all I know this is the first time you've ever posted that, but there *are* regular culprits and the general effect on threads is annoynig.

Monster Hunter thread - "Any chance this will be ported to Vita lulz?" / "Cool, can't wait for the revision"
Mario 3D Land Thread - "Great to read all the impressions, I can't really think of any other way to contribute to the thread but I really want you guys to know I'm waiting for a revision"
Lineup thread - "Did you guys know some of us are waiting for a revision?"

Hmm. From that list I'm only interested in Resident Evil, Professor Layton, Fire Emblem, and Monster Hunter. Not worth buying a whole gadget over. Plus, handheld games always have a way of disappointing me.

I honestly see no reason for Metal Gear Solid 3DS to exist unless you only own a 3DS and no other platform. If you want to play the game, but with some improvements, you grab the HD Collection. If you want to play the game on the go, you buy the Vita version and transfar junk to your home version.

Pretty awesome lineup. Luigi's Mansion, Paper Mario, Kingdom Hearts, Time Travelers and many others all look like must haves. The 3DS seems well on its way to being a worthy successor to the DS.

Solid list. I could see myself picking up half of those.

Also, I'm not trying to troll, just curious... when Luigi's Mansion came out for GC it wasn't very well liked (and wasn't a very good game, if we are being honest), but it seems like suddenly the whole world is waiting with bated breath for LM2 on 3DS. What happened? >.>

Like the Gamecube itself, it seems the people love it much more in hindsight :p

I loved it, the only negatives for me was that it was literally like 3-4 hours long and too easy.

Also nobody was saying it was a bad game, just not worth $50 for a 3 hour long game

Only Paper Mario and Kingdom Hearts interest me. Sequels to "console games" which I was clearly told aren't suitable for handhelds. So I guess it's a bad lineup.

But "I don't want those kind of experiences on portables"

Yeah. Funny how that poor argument doesn't get brought up now that Nintendo's doing it.

I think it has to do with the increased control options provided by the 3DS with the touch screen, gyroscope, accelerometer, and future Circle Pad Pro add-on, in addition to several of the games being official sequels unlike the spinoffs on the PSP that may have been unfairly dismissed. The Vita will also have increased inputs, with the dual analogs and touch screens, so we might not hear of issues with "console experiences" on handhelds anymore.

Just me being grouchy but if the 3DS were region free and I could be guaranteed to play most of those titles in 2012 at or around the time they launched then I would be a whole lot more excited about the 3DS software situation.

As it stands I am at the mercy of localization because of the retardation that is region locking. Unless I want to pay for a Japanese 3DS system I will be watching from the sidelines while they get MonHun and several other big titles on that list much earlier than we get them, if we get them at all.

Most people wanted to love it. I have hopes Nintendo will make it a much better all-around experience this time.

multiple mansions
hopefully means this is not going to be an issue with this game.

Meanwhile, those of us in Japan continue to win. ;)

I think it's fair to assume that Bravely Default and Monster Hunter are coming. Fire Emblem a little harder to say given the last one didn't make it over here, but that was released at the very tail end of the DS's life.

I'm starting to think it's likely we'll see this one, but it'll probably be localized during a larger drought since FE's been in a downward sales spiral since Radiant Dawn in NA. Coupled with a decent marketing push without much else on the horizon, and it could push respectable numbers.

Then again, I thought the same thing about Chibi-Robo 3, and well, yeah.

DQ 7 on a handheld. No load times, better graphics. Oh happy day. I played a bit of it on my PSP and couldn't handle diving in again. But 3DS? Day one.

Something smells fishy. Given how big that would be the Famitsu leak would've covered it if it was in that magazine, and if it was in JUMP that stuff would've already been old news. There's also the fact that Slim Mori Mori 3 has only came out this week for 3DS, and there's already another 3DS remake in development. How about some breathing room?
