Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
Xillia looks like it might as well be an enhanced 3DS port, so number 1 is certainly preferable.

Effectively, when I see it, I think about the Dolphin: a Wii game in HD! XD
Not that it looks bad, nono, it is good...just doesn't push PS3 :p

I'm honestly not sure why Namco would ever bother doing a major effort like ToH on any handheld ever again. They've seen what Tales fans like on portables - ports or remakes of older games and fanservice spinoffs to complement the main entries. Those are cheaper and faster to make, and sell very well. I don't see a good argument for supporting handhelds with a "proper" new Tales game when they can make it on consoles instead and sell a ton more.

At a higher price to boot.

Depends on the business. Many have returned to work, but others may be off until Monday.

4gamer will be back today, but we have to see if they'll give us the Top 20 at the usual time.
Famitsu should post the no-numbered Top 10 like normal.

It's probably difficult to come up with a truly correct answer, but which scenario would make Namco more money?

1) Selling 600K+ copies on PS3
or
2) Selling 300K+ copies on 3DS

Bare in mind the cost of development etc.

A main entry which can top 600k then will ensure more fanbase for spin-offs and porting and remake imo.

Sort of off-topic but I was trying to pin down the 3DS's current worldwide LTD.

So that's at least 10.52 million worldwide, but does not take into account sales in "other" since September 2011. Anyone have better numbers for Europe/Australia since then?

I wanted to know since I wanted to compare it to what the DS had sold at Nintendo's E3 2006. There, they said the DS had sold 16 million in 18 months. And that was before NSMB and the DS Lite.

A thread without last-hour predictions is a no thread :

1) Mario Kart - 125'000
2) Monster Hunter 3G - 110'000
3) Super Mario 3D Land - 88'000
4) Final Fantasy XIII-2 - 61'000
5) Kirby - 47'000

The rest I don't know. But I give some credit to the FF XIII-2 legs hypothesis.

Make a game for PS3 didn't mean automatically it will cost more than other systems.

If you have 100 people on 2 years development on PS3, it won't cost more than 100 people working 2 years on a 3DS game.

And it did it without any massive price cuts. I wonder if MHTriG will keep its sales momentum going to, say, outsell the regular release of MHP 2nd.

Stop the presses! A portable Monster Hunter game may have reached the 1M mark this week without a massive price drop!

Capcom just blew your mind.

What do you mean max?
It'll do close to 100K this week.
Are you expecting a massive drop off to basically 0 next?
I think it won't sell more than 105k this week, that's what I meant.

To reach the million mark this week it should sell more than 115k, which I don't see happening.

That "other" figure is shipped, though they've most likely sold through all of them by now.

I hope people are not inferring that MH3G cracked the 1M bar by looking at my predictions, right ?

Just asking.

So 10K sends the prediction from impossible to right on the money? If you're predicting 105K than 115K doesn't seem all that crazy or different at all.

115k would be a 26% drop, correct? It dropped 26% in this week in the best week of the year for sales, I doubt it'll see such a small drop this week, 115k is the upper limit for sales this week and it's not the most likely number, even 110k would probably be overly optimistic.

I don't think that'll happen without a discounted re-release. But if they do one late this year, it could go well beyond 2 million.

it has around 48 weeks till MH4 when it probably comes out the same time as 3G. If it sales 20k on average, it will sell that much. Totally possible I believe

But I don't know, last year we didn't have any report from 4 Gamer for week 51, instead we had to wait some hours for MC releasing datas. And then, for week 52, we had to wait again.

But this year, we had the 4 gamer datas in time, I think it'll happen again this week.
I mean, I hope :p
I'm not the one saying it, it was 4Gamer's notice:

...Oh, didn't read the 15:00 part.
So, okay.

...No, wait, it's not ok, since we haven't even got the Famitsu Top 10 :(

At this point, I hope someone else, such as inside-games, or gamespot, releases the numbers earlier. Even just the top 10 with numbers and hardware.
