Nice, especially liking how the TV is mounted on the wall at a proper height (and the 70"), I plan on doing that when I get a receiver and will have no where to put it so I will have to mount the TV and have it under.

This is my first real place after graduating but I'm pretty happy with it so far (just got the new TV yesterday, so don't mind the stickers, or the space heater for that matter):

I like the idea of a timeline! I went back and pulled some old pictures, tougher to track them down in my library than I thought.

I loved those things. Never really had the room for a RPTV, but man, those LCOS displays looked great next to DLPs. Shame about the green blob issues that cropped up.

Definitely. I had it for about 5, maybe 6 years and it was still an amazing looking tv when it died. The main reason why I got rid of it was because Sony was doing a good replacement deal for another TV. But the TV that I got from Sony was an edge lit LCD that I hated more than anything else and sold it immediately to get the Panny plasma.

How does your sub sound in front like that?

I've always placed mine behind the couch/near the back corner.

I paid good money for this Dynex!

Wait... so only a few years out of undergrad, you were rocking all that McIntosh kit?

How in the fuck did you manage that? Because I always assumed you were in your 30s or older based on how nice your equipment is.

2012?!?

We will see...I'm in the middle of packing up to move and I'm exchanging TV's so I'll post it up again once the new set arrives, or when I've moved to the new house.

Oh and I can give a projector timeline as well...I might just do so...

It sounds pretty good. It reflects off the wall enough that the bass doesn't sound like its coming from a certain spot in the room. The hardest part was tweaking the crossover level so it wasn't too boomy.

Thanks. I wanted to avoid the front row movie theater neck. To each their own, but I find most people mount their tv too high on the wall for comfortable viewing.

Changes happening tomorrow, getting a 75ft HDMI cable tomorrow and running it through the wall from the computer to the TV, should be fun :S, also a shelf for a wireless printer.

Yea, it drives me nuts watching TV at someone house and the tv is crazy high.

Setup much the same as last year had so many plans but we found that our now 4 son was as much of a gamer as his mom and dad, the boy can play anything. We have been playing anything we can find that does 3 player coop online. I swear one day I will clean up the downstairs media closet and break out the old consoles. For now the only change is my little ones setup. We have AV pipes running from the media closet to the media room for 4 flat screen stations it’s my new year’s resolution to take time to get that set up so that we can all play in the same room, the xbox headset gets the job done but I think we will have a lot more fun when we are all in the same room. The 4th station is for my little girl she just turned 3, she’s not far off from becoming a little gamer herself 8).

How come your getting rid of that TV so soon?

Did you... just move in? Your house looks bare as hell aside from the TVs. A few posters and the occasional accent table would go a long way.

I've noticed this in previous topics. It seems to be an American thing. Not all but many American interiors seem to be very bare. I think it's exaggerated by lighting conditions but it is quite noticeable.

I am amused by the constant appearance of the 360 HD-DVD drive. I was scrolling down expecting to see it disappear in the 2011 shot but, no, it's still very much there. :D

Well we have been here for about a year and a half and are really still just settling in. The house is bear for a reason though at 3 and 4 we wanted to minimize as many dangers as possible, the kids run around like crazy. We wanted to minimize as many hazards as possible as well as conceal components that could be broken. We still have a majority of our pre-kids things packed away. Looks bear and sterile in the photos but believe me when the kids are awake it doesn’t look like that 8).

Upstairs for racing. Incomplete and out of date. Clubsport pedals added.
(Note to self: don't rip up existing flooring if you can't be bothered replacing it over a year later, doofus)

I'm exchanging it for a Samsung PN64D8000. I was talking to my sales guy and he gave me an amazing deal so I couldn't pass on it. It came out to be a little under $200 more then what I paid for my GT so I jumped.

HAHA yeah it somehow made it over the years. It's going away for good once I move.

The same blue ethernet cable makes an appearance throughout too!

Pfft that's purple...

That's different, we're still years away from being able to replace it with better technology.

I've heard of such things. Though I head it's created with pixie dust, and that I can not afford.

Seriously though, I never had a problem with my setup using ethernet. I had the wireless adapters for the 360 and wireless for my PS3 and I didn't like the connection speeds (it was totally my router at the time.

I'm moving into a brand new build (house), and plan to have a proper wireless setup...promise ;)

Vied for a tag related to cocks, so here it is.
Half-arsed phone photo of my setup while I'm at Uni. Might rearrange at some point but as it stands I'm happy with it. Monitor is hooked up to the laptop.
(Mic is blu-tacced to the wall because on the desk it picked up every movement including typing horrificly and I don't want to have to push to talk)

Some pretty impressive set ups ^^ Loving the trend of posting pics of old set ups->current ones, I may join in.

Actually, have a question for some of you. Any suggestions for glass cabinets/cases to display figures in besides the Detolf Glass Case from Ikea? I already have one of those, but unfortunately it's full already and I'm running out of space in this room. I was hoping to find an affordable case I could hang to the wall, but those seem scare and expensive :(

Finally got a half-decent setup for myself up on a budget (just moved out, student :p). Pretty happy with it for now, could use a bigger TV but whatever. Crappy phone camera quality unfortunately, couldn't manage to find the digital camera. : P

I love these threads so I suppose I'll participate.

This year I plan to upgrade the 720p 32" Samung LCD to a 40" (and ditch the precariously perched cable box), replace the shelf that currently holds DVDs/Blu-rays/HD DVDs with something bigger (and move the Beirut posters up), and replace my PC with the one I'll soon be building with the components seen underneath the records (I just need to decide if I'm going to be conservative or irresponsible with my GPU choice and then I'm ready to build it).

NES through GCN ready to go and sleek wall-shelves holding the carts, very nice.

And I second wanting to smoke weed in RyanReedyMusic's room.

My brand new gaming setup in my bedroom, cable management is a bit of a mess but a staple gun and some sort of black cloth can fix that. Can never seem to make cables look tidy or be able to hide them that well either :(

Lmao never seen a mic on a ceiling.

Anywhere on the desk picked up EVERYTHING, couldn't move the mouse without my mates hearing it on vent, got ridiculous.

Updated picture, added a hook for my headphones there, fingers crossed is doesn't pull paint off the wall as it is a student house...

If your worried about the paint, heat it up with a hair dryer or something before you try and remove it.

Good idea, I'll remember that one when it comes to it.

Also does anyone have a good stand for a 360 controller? I used a wired one on here and would like some way of keeping it on my desk...

Yea I remember my first year at university living on residence (switched to a school back home after) the rooms got messed up, paint chips, dents, sticky/tape marks etc but no one had to pay, I guess it depends school to school.
