On a side note, there is another anime starting in Spring that is based on a Shogakukan award winning manga (Space Bros) also being directed by a Watanabe (in this case Ayumu, of Doraemon fame). The Spring season is certainly shaping up to be a stacked season.

Isn't Ayumu also directing Mysterious Girlfriend X? Busy much?

Is this real life?

Now all that needs to happen is the nakamura show to be revealed and to look awesome and ANIME will truly be saved!!!

I thought noitaminA was dead? At least in spirit. Apparently not!

Great trailer, looks terrific.

Oh hell yeah. I am definitely checking this out when it airs. Still, I'm worried that even if it is good, its ratings /dvd sales are going to be awful like just about everything now-a-days that isn't moe.

I'll watch it... but...

Space Cowboys to hip hop Samurai to school kids? I'd rather him tackle another unique project than go with the trends.

It's by Watanabe, that's all I need to know. Been waiting for a new series from him so I hope this delivers =)

I need to see this thing's op/ed vid/track choices. I need to like now.

Not sure about the OP/ED, but the official site has some information about what to expect from the music in the show itself. They's taking the music element very seriously, and the songs performed in the various episodes will be actual well known Jazz pieces.

Takashi Matsunaga will be performing on classical piano, while Shun Ishikawa is the drummer. Yoko Kanno is overseeing the production of the performances of course.

Some tracks they listed include Moanin’, My favorite things, and Someday My Prince Will Come.

Any word on original compositions?

I was incredibly excited for Champloo, and that ended up being a pretty big disappointment outside of a couple episodes. So I'll go into this one with lower expectations.
