Meh, I'm probably used to 3ds pad. May be the Vita's stick got abused at the store or something. I do still feel it's very tiny.

Please tell me I'm freaking out for no reason. I redeemed Hot Shots Golf Online Pass (FUCK ONLINE PASS) and it shows in store that I own it yet it didn't download. Under download list, it doesn't show up and I can't purchase/redownload it either. WTF is this?!
Definitely in services. Wipeout is a DL though so it treats that differently.
I would love that. Holding off on a few PSP as to not spoil myself. I already transferred 3 so I don't want to overkill it.Sony really needs top do "All PSP games 50% off" and make it only available through Vita store
As a parent, portable gaming is becoming one of my primary platform choices. I built a gaming PC and that is heavenly but nothing beats having this amazing Vita like device that does everything the consoles do and then some at seamless speeds. And the games look great and are fun. Congrats!

There were numerous PSP revisions. Let's not have Sony get it in their heads that we prefer an analog slider over a stick. It's functional on the 3DS, but it's far from ideal. I'm just thankful that Sony knows where to put a d-pad, unlike Nintendo.
Part of this IS design, I honestly don't think the 3DS would've worked ideally with EITHER variation without a significant overhaul. The PS Vita's larger and and thus has the room to be more ergonomic and be more comfortable for either, whereas the 3DS stumbles with the left side, nevermind the right side when the CPP is factored in.

So people know, and I don't know if this really is true. It seems like the demo units won't play retail games (unless they can be unlocked) according to Gamestop employees. They mentioned it to me due to the theft of one of their display units (I mentioned this a bit ago). So those wondering why the system isn't fully featured or "limited" can rest easy as there is obviously no restrictions like that in the final.
Why does 3DS keep getting brought into the conversation? Someone can make a comparison (not here) but it's rather useless to talk about it in here. Nor would it be productive (for the fanboy type responses mainly).

Couldn't agree more! I gave the Gravity Daze demo a spin yesterday, and within half a minuty I adapted to using the micro-sticks in a third person game, contrary to the initial "What? this'll never work", before I laid hands on the unit myself. The small analogs may not be perfect by a long shot, but they do get the job done!

The internet is such an irrational and hypocritical place. Lots of people used to complain about the PSP nub being not so good (never an issue for me really) but now we're getting the Vita analog stick complaints or criticisms. They are about as good as you can do for the design they went with. I never think "boy I feel crippled" while using them. You can't realistically expect them to design them to stick out any more. Not perfect, but far better than any portable solution I've tried. The d-pad, on the other hand, is arguably right up there with the Saturn or any other d-pad ever. It's that good.
That's not me telling you that it's wrong to say something but they really couldn't do much better than this and what the Vita has is pretty damn good. Once you tinker they fell great for a handheld. I admit, at first I had to just get the feel for them but now, controlling Wipeout or running around in the Hot Shots lobbies feels as easy as can be since I know how the resistances are. That's basically like any other analog controller. You have the small period of breaking it in and getting used to the resistance or how tight/loose they are.

I'm holding out on the PS3 version for this exact reason. I'll give it until E3 or something and see if anything get's announced there, and if not I'll get the PS3 copy.

I wouldn't hop on it but I know a few people that have mentioned that here.
Something like Mercury would be cool on Vita. If people remember, they had a special tit adapter that was supposed to come out. Now, Vita has the gyro built in. So something like Marble Madness would be ideal for the platform as well.

The way Monster Hunter would make a killing on Vita, is to release it with damn ONLINE PLAY!!! I'm sure the reason it didn't get so popular here has to do with being unable to play with people across the country. We all know how far apart places are in Europe and the US.

I just updated my Vita order to the 3G bundle. Since I was thinking about getting Wipeout anyway it works out as having only paid around £15 more for the 3G and Wipeout. Having the 3G bundle will be pretty brilliant when I am travelling home, particularly since my Pre 3 doesn't have a data plan.
Even more stoked to get the Vita now.

I have to agree with that guy - the analogs felt small and cheap. The throw range was also very limited.
I think passing comparisons to the 3DS in different aspects in a thread like this, are only natural. From what I've read, everyone has generally been pretty respectful, and fan boy responses have been kept to a minimum.
There may be 3DS owners lurking in here, sitting on the fence to buy a Vita. These impressions and comparisons can be very helpful when framed right. I would agree though, saying something like, "I wish it had the 3DS slide pad" without further explanation, probably doesn't help anybody.

Nothing of mine has shipped although I have it to ship as one package. My new order now says it will arrive on the 23rd though

well initial impressions of The 3rd Birthday from me are very positive.
I played the game on PSP briefly and I'd say that the game does look very nice on the Vita, and also, the right stick, man........dat right stick. I can't wait to try out more games where it is useful. It's a new experience.

My Vita bundle with memory card and game hasn't shipped, been told from Amazon CS that it'll be dispatching on the 21st with Prime one day delivery in time for release day.

Damn you sir! None of my Amazon uk order has shipped yet. Praying for Monday. I actually have 4 separate orders lol. 1: 3G, Rayman, 8gb. 2: Uncharted (£28). 3: Rayman and Lumines (£6 each). 4: VIP case. Also praying that HDNL do not get their crappy mitts on it.
It does not. I have two of them in my desk drawer that Amazon.co.uk sent me on the 10th.
My contact in the store hasnt gotten back to me yet, but today's ad says there's a "40%" trade in for a Vita.
If your PSP is in good condition, you might as well bring it down there and see how much you can get for it.

Ok so of course Im not speaking for all Targets but here in PA, I went to my local Target bright and shinny this Am 8:30 to make sure I was able to get in on the Buy 2 get one sale that started today.
WHAT A NIGHTMARE!
First when I went bck to the game section not 1 Vita game was on the shelves. Couple of cases and an 8 GB memory card was the whole setup. So I asked the guy there about the games and sale. HE said he had no idea about that. I was resourceful and asked for the manager and stated why don't you guys read your own sales and have the materials ready?
25mins later they were able to produce a few copies of game that target was to get in stock.
I wanted Rayman sadly that's not part of the sales deal I was told and wasn't shipped to them yet. They only had like 3 copies of each game and only 7 titles to select from in TOTAL for the sale I was told.
I than had to fight with them on the release date since the ad said WED for the vita they assumed the games were on sale WED only as well. Which I got them to look online for.
I ended up getting Uncharted, Hot Shots, and Wipeout they had Marvel vs Capcom, Modracers, and Lumines, and FIFA as well but total was 95.00 for 3 games (kinda higher than I expected for some reason) Thinkin all were 39.99 when Uncharted was 49.99
Did I do good with the selections? I think I will grab a $20 PSN card as well and get Stardust and that Alien blob game on the cheap..
So if your going to travel to your target you might want to call ahead and see if they have what your looking for.

Yeah Target was a mess. Just left. Nothing out. Told Wednesday only. Only had spaces for dungeon hunter, ninja gaiden, and dynasty warriors on the shelf.

I'm gonna try and get best buy to match (however unlikely that is) since i really want both Lumines and Rayman and Target is apparently not carrying Rayman from reports on the net.
My local Target was a bust too.. Was wanting Rayman Origins, Uncharted, and Virtua Tennis...
All the had were Uncharted, Hot Shots, Wipeout, MVC, Modracers and FIFA. HSG and Wipeout were 39.99, which I got 29.99 each with amazon. Just hoping that amazon will match the prices, since there are still a few games that I want.

The one game that baffles me that is not in the store is resistance retribution. I can somewhat understand 3rd party stuff, but first party games. Really?

Bah, now that I picked up UMVC3 from Wal-Mart, suppose I will take advantage of the B2G1 from Gamestop, I wanted Uncharted and Hotshots anyways, guess Modnation can be the bonus.
Wipeout and Hotshots are excellent, only played the demo for Uncharted, but it certainly feels like an Uncharted game.

I own Wipeout and Hot Shots, they are amazing games. I haven't gotten Uncharted but I bet for free it's pretty good!
