In going to try using Chrome instead of the default ICS browser for a bit. Does anyone know how to make Chrome full screen and make the scrolling down pages faster?
There's no full screen, which is one of the oddest decisions ever. Heck, Google once played with removing the URL box in the desktop version.

Announcement of an announcement while taking a shot at the 'sheep'.

Heh, the Galaxy S line is a little to popular now to play that card. You aren't exactly bucking the trend by using one.

As long as it's under 30 million it can safely be considered a 'small community'.

"Don't be a sheep" doesn't mean "Choose something that's unpopular", it means "Make your decision based on factors other than popularity."

A person can "not be a sheep" and still end up choosing the market leader if there are compelling reasons to do so.

My contract is up with Sprint in May, so I'll definitely be all over this for my upgrade.

All over the new Evo LTE or the SGS3?

I don't think the SGS3 will be out until August or September at the earliest in the US. June/July for the int'l version. Definitely before the "New iPhone"...which is what I think it will be called to match the "New iPad" naming.

To be honest, Samsung might even call their new phone the sPhone or Galaxy sPhone...makes sense to match the sCloud they are about to announce. Especially since they clued everyone in by saying "don't expect it to be called Galaxy S III" or something to that effect.

Next up? Galaxy sTab as well. People will be calling it the stab for short.

Why wait? Isn't it a sure thing this is coming? Even the Nexus Tuna got an official thread before it was fully unveiled:

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=448904

The thread went up before the conference, albeit a day before. But why not keep all the leaks, rumors, etc., under one thread?

People keep asking about this phone in the Galaxy Nexus thread.

well, you're free to make a thread, i'm just the type that likes new threads for new news, and not a few dozen pages of rumors and speculation before the actual news. of course, if the thread is made early, i'll totally be posting and discussing rumors like everyone else!

Likely the Galaxy. Is the evo lte supposed to be a good one as well?

There's another 'leak' but I won't share it because SimleuqiR will get mad at me :'(

Nah, post away. I just think there is a large group of GAF member waiting for this phone (genuinely excited) and would be nice to have all the info in one place.

Pretty much this is Android's iPhone.

I was gonna wait for the next Galaxy, but I really don't feel like not having a new phone until late summer/early fall/whenever they bring it stateside. The SII took 4.5 months to come stateside, which was longer than it took the original.

I'm in the same boat, my contract renews in May as well.

Im just praying somehow they take at least one (more) cue from Apple and get a faster international release date after the announcement. I guess I'll get a Nexus if they don't get it out relatively soon because I'm on Verizon.

Sigh...hopefully things are different this time. I don't want to wait that long either :^/

Evo LTE is basically the One X but added all the things that the One X was missing

Bigger battery
micro sd slot
dedicated camera button
Kickstand

Not that I need a kickstand but it has one never-the-less...would get one if I was on sprint.

Oh...its also got HD Voice as well...which basically uses a better audio codec and Voice over LTE...but it wont be active until december...and even then will only work when both callers have an HD Voice enabled phone.

Are you in an initial LTE market for Sprint?

Plus Sprint's LTE market rollout target date is 2013, right? Early (early early early) test markets notwithstanding. And HD voice has a longer schedule than December 2012, I thought?

The Sprint EVO LTE: gimped until 2013.

Nope, Sprints LTE is supposed to be where I am in June. Makes it a frontrunner for me if the S3 isnt what I want instead. Sucks for everyone not in the initial rollout area for Sprint, but *cough* not my problem.

And with the leaked videos testing Sprints LTE and showing it being fast as shit, Im excited as hell. 30mbps/5mbps? Unlimited?

Yes please. Folks better get that shit before they yank the unlimited plan.

Evo LTE's what I'm eyeing as well. Unfortunately I'm likely moving from one of the initial rollout markets, so I might be waiting on LTE until 2013.

Just think it's hilarious that Sprint is playing the "great features a year after you own the phone!" game.

Yeah it is pretty sad. And their reputation for terrible speeds will probably take a year or more to subside, if it ever does, assuming their LTE speeds to line up with AT&T and Verizons.

So I am having a problem with my Thunderbolt.

To start off, not rooted, all stock.

The problem is the seemingly infamous black screen camera app problem. In a nutshell, when I try to open the camera, it goes and stays on a black screen forever, with no buttons other than Home working.

If I hit Home, the camcorder app seems to be running in the background and eats up battery like there's no tomorrow, phone is dead in a couple of hours at most. While the camcorder app runs, every other app that uses camera reports an error stating the camera is in use and to reboot the phone. If I reboot, and try to use any other camera app (from barcode scanner, to papercamera and so forth), it also does not work.

I have read on the issue quite a bit and here are the things I tried with no success:
- clear data for the camera app.
- pull battery for a while.
- install a new camera app and try it.
- use the voice recorder.
- delete all camera pictures and videos off the sd card and memory.
- try it without an sd card.
- gently press the camera to see if it was loosened.

I hope the camera hardware is not dead, and factory reset seems to be the last thing to try. Any ideas of a good way to record what apps I have installed so I can easily reinstall them after, or a backup/restore method?

Or any other suggestions on things to try? It worked fine up to Friday, then Sunday it had issues. Between Friday and Sunday I used my phone like normal and installed two non camera related apps which I have tried uninstalling to see if they were the culprits.

Thanks in advance Gaf.
