I'm really tempted on that EA bundle as i have never seen Deathspank for go lower than $7.50 each. Having said that they could pop up in a Indie Bundle like Shank did with the Humble Bundle.

I playing Witcher 2 and AC: Revelations at the moment with Diablo 3 on the way. So i guess i might just wait it out.

Well, I used my android steam app to purchase the game, now I just have to install it once I get home. I'll post some impressions after I've played it for a bit but fair warning, this is my first 4x space game.

I'm quite tempted by Endless Space, if anyone would like to post their own impressions to sell me on it.

Downloading now. Spoke too soon. Can't figure out where it is... Nope I'm a dumbass it was right there in my library. Hopefully I'll play some tonight. Gal Civ 2 is one of my favorite games of all time so I'll be able to compare it to that I guess.

It's interesting that they are doing that through Steam...it seems to me like the Minecraft/CARS model where users might be able to influence/track development, but that's the first such game I recall being on the Steam store during the alpha process.

Natural Selection 2 has been doing this, they've been on Steam since before the game was in a playable state.

Is there a thread on this? Skyrim mods downloaded 13 million times on Steam Workshop http://www.pcgamer.com/2012/05/02/s...mes-on-steam-which-mods-are-the-most-popular/

Oh snap. Revelations 2012 is now only 10 bucks, and if you bought it for 20 you now own the four pack. I know you all are rushing to go buy this. http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2680774

Oh snap I totally want that.

/me clicks on store link in the OP

Hey....I already own TFC...

Yeah, I just wish Teamviewer when I'm at work to use my home laptop and just download things that way. But perhaps that is archaic compared to those fancy phone apps that people seem to like.

Meh.
All these kids with their fancy phone 'apps'. It's the way of the past, with TeamViewer man!
A better alternative in my eyes though.

Here's a trailer for Endless Space: http://endless-space.amplitude-studios.com/

Don't know why that's not on the steam page. Now that I know it's a 4x game I'll just preorder it now and play it. The ui is slick as hell too.

Well dang, this does look pretty awesome. What the heck is going on with the onslaught of all the space games lately?

Genesis Classics 5 is out for $7.50:

Beyond Oasis
Dynamite Headdy
Golden Axe III
Phantasy Star II
Phantasy Star III: Generations of Doom
Phantasy Star IV: The End of the Millennium
Streets of Rage 3
Revenge of Shinobi
Vectorman 2
Wonder Boy in Monster World

that is a pretty tempting bundle, some awesome stuff there. Looking at Beyond Oasis though... one of the screenshots sure seems out of place... hmmmm.

Heh, it's neat to have the functionality sure in as many places as possible, but since I already use remote desktop software anyway, it never seemed like a big deal.

tempted for the Genesis Classics Pack 5, but I don't know, I already own most of these games on multiple platforms already...

Endless Space Impressions

I am super impressed with Endless Space so far. The ui is just as awesome as it looks.

It seems to be heavily Dune inspired which makes me ecstatic (the way the planets line up is way too similar to the opening scene of the movie to be a coincidence, and your main currency is "dust" lol).

Alt tab friendly. And the tutorial screens are thorough and well written.

Some of the navigating through menu controls are really terrible. Not sure if I can rebind them or not (can't find anything in the menu, but you know, alpha). In the research screen for example you can left click to queue up research after your current one is done, but left clicking it again doesn't remove it from the queue. Right clicking at any point is just a back button. Some of it just doesn't make sense. Tech tree is nice. It's not single branch, so there are dependencies on earlier tech, but it's not like civ where you end up getting shit you don't want just because you have to. It's separated into 4 different bushes so you can just focus entirely on research if you want.

It's not balanced yet apparently so I won't dock it for some of the stuff (and it could be that I don't fully understand them yet too!). Heroes seem over priced, and the game seemed overly slow (later as I would check the new game page again 'normal' speed is for a 'slow paced game' and 'fast' is 'a normal speed game' so yeah that makes tons of sense :/ ) . I don't know if I've just been raised on more complicated stuff or if it's the lack of graphs (big sad face here) but it seems a tad simple. More complicated than civ 5 for sure, but not really to gal civ 2 level.

Also the map is smaller than I was expecting from the description of it. It might just be a visual trick as it groups the stars into systems instead of showing all the planets from the map screen. Stuff may end up being bigger than it is through a visual illusion.

You never get to actually customize what your ship looks like (completely unlike gal civ 2). You get a really attractive looking base and then throw mods on that have no visual representation and just add stats. I don't know how complicated this gets so not sure if you can leave the computer to just auto improve over the game.

The diplomacy and trading screens are hard to mess up. They're just like any other strategy game's.

Graphics are pretty good. It doesn't have some real space porn in it like Sins of a solar empire (it might in the rts parts, but in the normal map screen it doesn't), but when it zooms on planets, those textures are really nice.

Music is amazing. Half just down beat techno thats really relaxing and nice in long strategy games and when stuff speeds up it's like a non-shitty linken park song.

Still haven't tried any of the rts battle parts. Don't have a military yet!

I'll be editing this post later to put more impressions in. Ask any questions you want if you care to.

Sega should be ashamed of the screenshots they've provided for Wonder Boy in Monster World.

Also, shame on them for releasing this today while leaving many people in the dark for months about Monster World Collection's status on Virtual Console, XBLA and PSN. That's just mean!

Oh geez, I thought it was bad they had a Wonder Boy screen in the Beyond Oasis pack, but the actual screens they use for the Wonder Boy page are hilarious.

Like the upcoming Monster World Collection, are these also by M2, or should I expect backbone?

I don't think it's M2, but I'm not so sure it's Backbone either.

I would say probably Backbone though, based on Sega's history with them.

I'm actually reading, in an old thread, that they use Kega for the steam ports. Don't know how true that is, but it's interesting... and better than backbone. I'll just bite the bullet and grab them.

Thanks for the impressions, I'm gonna pick it up. :)

Also, I'm picking up the warthog game, even though I'm sad if it has Starforce and doesn't say so on the store, but hopefully the install-limit-regen thing they have isn't that bad and they don't have ye olde low-level Starforce that used to cause problems or whatever.

Wow, that would actually be REALLY good stuff, if true.

Really interested in Warp, is it good enough to overcome forcing Origin on me (I have a few games on there, but nothing that needs Origin to activate/start up)?

No, it has some great ideas, but the execution is really lacking. They fail to understand a lot of the lessons from portal.

Had completely forgotten about games that I traded/purchased during the Steam holiday sale in my inventory. What´s peoples opinion about the following games:

Osmos
Red Alert 3
Star Wars: Empire at War
Two Worlds II (already playing Skyrim and then have DLC for Fallout: New Vegas to play)

Should I keep any of them and play them, or just use them for trades?

Awesome. I have almost 150 hours between Warband and With Fire and Sword for good reason :)

I like Osmos a lot, though some types of levels can feel really difficult and unfair. But that aside, practically everyone has the game due to its appearance in a Humble Bundle and maybe some other popular indie bundles. I've still got a bunch of copies I bought to give away and it's really difficult to find anyone who doesn't already have it. So it's really not worth anything in trade.
