Guys, I'm sick.

Sick of those threads, week after week, claiming either one extreme of the Wii U potential power (on par with/less powerful than PS3/360 and more powerful than etc...)

I don't even think this last one even has a right to exist, since Vigil has been saying the Wii U version of Darksiders II looks at least as good as the other since last E3.

I'm just sick of those. Each new one tells the opposite of the last. Bottom line, we're still at square one.

Thank God there's less than 2 weeks left until E3.

I know that feel bro.

But this is our destiny. This is our objective. And like you said: only two weeks left, that's nothing. The hardest part will be the last three days.. because of the wait and because of you-know-who will "visit" earth..

So who all is still going to check in here once this thread does get moved to community?
I don't get it. You don't need a secret password to enter the Community Forum. The tab is right there next to the Gaming one, or just subscribe to the thread. It's not hard, people.

Are you sure it'll be much better then?

With the avalanche of rich and detailed information that we're going to get from Nintendo at e3. We won't need this speculation thread.

We'll all wind up here again though after E3 when the announcements Nintendo has in store for us raise even more questions, some of which won't even be answered until next E3.

Has it been confirmed that the NFC is read only and can not send NFC signals to other read-devices?

Wikipedia said:

In other words, the two-way communication between read-devices is the defining feature that separates NFC from earlier short-range standards. I can see the possibility that Nintendo might use this to facilitate eShop as a smartphone app, at least in Japan.

Wants the largest console games publisher to avoid Nintendo's platforms.
Anyone read 1up's "what if miyamoto became a manga artist" article? Really good scenario if Namco made Zelda and not Nintendo lol
Let me guess - a scantily clad Zelda and Link is a sailor?

Same. I found it odd that the most recent one was created by a mod. When there wasn't anything really new. The thread isn't exploding as the previous ones though.

But in 2 weeks those threads will make place for threads of tearing the Wii U apart because it's games don't look much better than '7 year old hardware' by posters you have never seen before. So don't look forward to it too much.

This is NeoGAF.

Yup. E3 is when all the crazies comes out. Grey as far as the eye can see.
How nice would it be if Nintendo blew everybody's mind at E3.

Like, big time mind blowing.
People are going to be amazed by the software and features announced for the system, even not for the graphics (which will still look great).

I doubt it will collectively but I am sure there will be those moments.

I just hope there's tons of shit that isn't rough at all.

Maybe not all near release but a good indication of what is to come.

I actually feel like this time they actually will. Hardware specs or not, people overlook the fact that we are getting HD Nintendo games, and a good online service for the first time EVER.

Whatever they have to show us be spectacular. Maybe that's just my inner fanboy speaking, but there should be something for EVERYONE in the next two weeks.

Does that matter? Will these features make the games into better games?

The answer could very well be yes, but I still have not found there to be a grand, fundamental difference in games that I've played this gen and would like something more to my new systems than just increased resolution and the ability to e-peen.

If I wasn't banned for a meltdown at 2008's E3, no way is one with a lot of amazing games be announced going to make me meltdown.
:p

What about that thread where the gaming media announces that Microsoft's presentation was better even though they didn't announce any big new games we didn't already know about?

I'm gonna be to busy updating the OP with every news from the conference to post a meltdown even if I have one so...

UE4 didnt do anything for most if not at all, But still what ever Wii U is a big leap for Big N games and that all I care about from Wii U

next gen not going to wow anyone unless you have a good eye and most gamers dont and most games dont let you take every little thing

Umm.. is it a little bit wrong that part of me is actually looking forward to the crazies coming out?

I mean, it's a mod headache, to be sure, so I don't look forward to that aspect - but the crazies are so incredibly fun to watch.
(okay.. and as someone who has controlled bouts of "crazy," they're sometimes inspirational, haha..)

Haven't you seen the awesome experiences we've gotten on the Wii? That was done with "underpowered" hardware. The beefier hardware combined with the new controller guarantees even better experiences ^.^

This, surprisingly, hasn't been stressed enough. Nintendo is one of the few companies that are known to get the most out of the hardware. It's definitely more about the experience with Nintendo, but they know how to get extremely gorgeous visuals out of relatively weak hardware. We got Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 as well as Skyward Sword on the Wii. I'm sure the Wii U is capable of producing the same graphics at a much higher resolution. That alone is insane, visually.

Gahiggidy

My aunt & uncle run a Mom & Pop store, "The Gamecube Hut", and sold 80k WiiU within minutes of opening.
I don't know why this thread has to move to community now. It seems a bit premature since we have another week+ of wii u blackout to endure.

Nope. I remember a few years back we had that dude who said we weren't moist enough and we were a bunch of cookiecutter motherfuckers.

Guessing something where they have a strong online marketplace, ads for games/DLC, and more features always bring in more customers, which brings in more business.
Could be. Depends on what Reggie ment with "being flexible". I'm sure that we will know a lot more about the online system at this E3. I really hope that Nintendo will devote a bigger part of their press conferance to the online system at least, and not basically just talk about what you can do with the controller.

Right and it's why - coming-back to the GTA V case and the like - I think it's useless for Nintendo to pay for ports or exclusivities. If they'are not able to charm third parties then their strategy (or its execution) is wrong. But as far as I know (your trifecta), Nintendo looks more and more attractive.

Should I have termed it... triforce instead?
But yeah, I think Nintendo putting money into features is a better strategy.

What was the last "mind-blowing" Nintendo announcement you guys can think of? Nothing matches the Twilight Princess (though it lacked a name at the time) reveal, but what has come close?

No-one's "minds will be blown" but it's still gonna be great to see Mario with more power behind him.

Seriously. I mean Mario Galaxy already looks amazing. And in HD in Dolphin it looks almost in the same league as some Xbox/PS3 games.

Really hoping we see a Wii U non "new-style" Mario Bros game. Please, Nintendo. Please!!

Maybe Donkey Kong Country Returns, but that was leaked by IGN a couple days before...

We're comparing one of Nintendo's worst E3s to one that's looking to be nothing like it. You sure that's the best comparison? :p
