It's a human impulse to anthropomorphize everything, so I don't think they're hiding things so much as we're noticing features and assigning expressions

I love that phrase now, I'm gonna use it all the time. Probably a lot during my first playthrough of Halo 4.

I just want to say, to all the 343ers that might be watching: Well done folks, really, really well done.
You've blown us all away, I know we've only seen a snippet, but it's clear that the bar has been raised exponentially. The speed and fluidity of the combat, the visual fidelity, the quality of the narrative.. Halo has been stepped up in every single regard.
I think most of us will have had reservations about a studio other than Bungie taking charge of Halo, I'm sure you expected as much, but what we've seen today.. Oh my.

They're clearly harvested humans or something. Composer yadda yadda. Gives the enemy a "oh I can't wait to turn ye into soldiers" angle.

Having gone back to watch the footage a few more times, I am ridiculously impressed with how 343 was finally able to nail a teleporting enemy without making it feel cheap and unpredictable. The windup to the teleport (presumably) indicating which direction he's going to go is just brilliant design.

Spot on. I'm gonna go play through every Halo game ever after E3 is done.
That demo looked so fantastic. Hype increased tenfold. Bravo, 343.
I love chatty Cortana. Her character and the interplay between her and the Chief was one of the most interesting things about the first three games for me.
And I loved how the environment looked. And the new weapons, and the sounds. Damn! Haven't felt this excited about Halo since before H3.

The game is visually amazing, definitely a GUGE leap from Reach's visuals. It looks so... BEAUTIFUL.
And about the HEADSHOT thing, dump it already, looks disgusting and it's a bad design choice.

Only complaint of the day relating to this game is the text in the middle of the screen in MP. What is it really adding? Other than that, everything looks AMAZING. Especially the campaign. Can't wait for Spartan Ops tonight.

Am I the only one who was really disappointed with the Campaign gameplay? It was basically a corridor with a shitton of scripting.

I'm at work so I'm not keeping up but when does HaloGAF get our beta codes? my PM box is still emptysauce.
It was a demo. It's supposed to be like that as a way to show the enemies, weapons, sounds, atmosphere and whatnot
Don't think that's what the game is going to be like. Because it's not.

It's an E3 demo, hardly the place to show off the sandbox. Demos are always super scripted.

It must be interesting to them to come at Halo 4 purely as fans now, rather than creators of it. I think you're doing them proud so far.
There have been plenty of similar sequences in previous Halo games.
It's the introduction of new enemies so it's logical that's a bit more scripted. Wouldn't worry about it too much.

Kind of disappointing. Better than the 8 in Reach + Forge World though I guess.
Hopefully one of them is Forge World-esque map with some good Forged maps on disc too without such a boring color palette, 10 is too few, IMO.
DLC adds... how many it was, 9?
