Also, I watched your news clip that you posted, and couldn't help but notice that your local news guy is this dude:

LOL! I actually didn't notice that until a few days ago when I watched it again. That picture is classic, and I somehow feel honored to have been on a news report he was on. That's not my local guy, though. I was in LA for E3, so it must be the LA guy.

Dude, I knew you mentioned you were in the hospital but I didn't realize you had leukemia. I know you don't need handouts, but I'd have sent you my entire portable collection for free if you'd just asked! I hope the games are fun, and if you get bored with them and want some more just let me know, I'd be more than happy to send you others free of charge.

Best of luck and stay in touch!

Coincidentally, I joined the Bone Marrow Registry about 2-3 months ago.
Thanks for joining the registry. :) I'm really looking forward to getting the games, too!

Got some pretty good news today. Let me rewind a few days, though - I had a bone marrow biopsy on Wednesday, which was the first one since the transplant. Well the results came back today, and the donor marrow has 100% taken over my body.

I know that sounds a little shocking, but that's exactly what it's supposed to do. Now I have a brand new immune system, new bone marrow and cells, and even new DNA, I'm told. Also, there was no sign of leukemia cells in the marrow.

So, in short, everything's going as well as it can, and I'm in the recovery phase. I still have really rough days, but for the most part, it couldn't be going better.

Thanks again for everyone's encouragement. It's so insanely appreciated, and it helps me stay focused and positive. You guys are all great. :)

I've been following this thread since the beginning and I'm happy for you dude. Last summer, I spent a month working to raise funds for the charity anthony nolan the biggest blood cancer charity in the UK. I know for people like yourself, it can be very difficult finding a match to perform the transplant. Some people have many matches, some have very little. I also know how expensive it is to have one person be put onto a register to donate their bone marrow stem cells when the time comes, it's such a tricky process. That's why i'm so happy things are looking up for you dude.

As a side note I raised over £10,000 ($15.4k) in that month :)

If you could get to NYC from Bumblefuck....where ever you came from...Surely, you'd beat this.

I said you'd kick its ass, and you did. Next time you're in NJ/NYC, I owe you a beer x 10.

Hope everything keeps going well. We've never formally interacted but I remember your name from a site I wrote some articles for a few years back. Had no idea about the DNA implications of such a procedure. Must be hell to go through, but at the same time kinda cool you can now casually drop stuff like "yeah, I switched DNA a few years back" in random conversation.
