Thought Emoji Movie was good. Take that as you will.
Bute didn't know how the fuck to get away from a straight right hand.

He better not ever fight Ward either.

I just realised we didn't hear Froch's girlfriend once during this fight!

I didn't want to watch the fight because of this, lol.

But, for the most part I am surprised. I thought that Froch was the underdog, I guess that Bute was fighting softball opponents in his hometown for all this time.... (yes, I know that he's fought outside Canada before, however, most of his fights were in Montreal)

Hold on, did the ref wave the fight off and then change his mind and try to administer a count?

It looked that way, but I think he was saying the ropes held him up.. you can give a count at that point. He actually stopped it when Bute's corner tapped him and said "enough".

I believe that he believed that Bute was injured enough to offer a count, but he was being held up against Foche and the ropes, and could not collapse. so he broke it up to start a mandatory 8-count, then he saw Bute was in pieces so he stopped the fight.

He was a pretty unconvincing official, I must say. Always on Froch's case. And the 'phantom' stoppage clearly showed the ref waving his hands.

Still, Hearn was a bit overzealous there, but luckily for him, you can see Bute's cornerman calling for a halt as he enters the ring, and they too come in before the referee officially ends it.

The manner in which he jumped in was stoppage style, either way. As I said...not the most convincing official! He's no Steve Smoger on that showing, but everyone has their off nights, so perhaps it was simply one for him :)

Great performance from Froch - easily his best showing ever for me. I really now see what Rob McCracken has said about Carl not travlling well and suffering from nerves - he was a different beast entirely last night from the gunshy display against Ward.

If I was Froch, I'd really want to push for a rematch against Ward in the UK; whilst I still think Ward is too slippery and would likely get another points win, after that brutal display from Froch, I'd like to see if Ward has the balls to step out of his comfort zone and take Froch on in his own back yard - we'd see a very different Froch without the nerves.

Probably be Kessler vs Froch 2 though.

Was glad to see Lucian was ok and gracious in defeat applauding the Cobra, he really took some brutal shots; I was surprised he lasted as long as he did.

Another aspect to consider is whether or not Bute wants any piece of Froch back in Montreal; there must be some psychological damage after such a beating, but the fact Froch struggles away from home may play into Bute trying to redeem himself; be interesting to see and I would really give Bute some credit if he exercises the rematch clause.

ATLANTA (AP) Paul Williams' manager says the boxer has been paralyzed from the waist down after being involved in a motorcycle crash in the Atlanta suburbs.

George Peterson told The Associated Press that Williams is expected to have surgery Wednesday and has been listed in serious but stable condition on Monday at an undisclosed hospital.

He says the crash happened Sunday morning in Marietta after Williams tried to avoid another car that was negotiating a curve. He says the motorcycle went up an embankment and he was thrown from the bike, severing his spinal cord after falling on his back and head. Williams was to attend his brother's wedding Sunday afternoon.

Peterson says Williams was scheduled to fight Saul Alvarez on Sept. 15 in Las Vegas but that event has been canceled.

"I heard about it yesterday morning. We had been in D.C. training, and so that's where I was," said Peterson. "Paul's brother was getting married at about 5 p.m., and Paul was down there for the wedding."

Peterson conveyed Williams' discription of the accident to RingTV.com.

"Paul said he was riding his bike, and he and this car were going around a curb. Paul had the outside lane, and the car had the inside lane," said Peterson.

"But the car, Paul noticed, couldn't make the turn without coming over into his lane. So Paul tried to give him room that he would need so that he could avoid from getting hit. That's when he noticed an on-coming car."

Peterson said Williams swerved to elude the opposing vehicle.

"Paul had the choice of hitting the oncoming car head-on, or to go across the highway and down the embankment and down the roadway about a hundred feet," said Peterson.

"Paul landed on his back, and that severed his spinal cord. As a result of that, he was paralyzed from the waist down."

Peterso said that Wednesday's operation is intended to allow Williams to "use his upperbody, such as his arms, his hands and his neck and so forth," adding, "surgery is to be done on Wednesday."

"Paul still believes. You know, Paul is all about coming back from adversity," said Peterson. "So Paul still believes that he will be back. He's not convinced that this is the end for him. Not at all."

How did the accident exactly happen?:
He was going to into this curb with this car that had the inside lane, Paul had the outside lane. Apparently the guy who was in the car was on his cell phone or something, but he drifted off into Paul's lane. Paul actually moved over to keep himself from hitting this car that was coming into his lane. Paul looked up and had this oncoming car coming down the road already. Paul said that if he didn't go completely across the roadway, he would have hit that oncoming car head on. He went completely across the roadway to keep from hitting this car head on, went down the embankment and when he came up he was about 60 feet in the air. The motorcycle went one way and he went the other. He must have flew airborne in the air about 100 feet. And when he came down, he came down on his back. And when he came down on his back, it severed his spinal cord.

The extent of the injuries were then determined:
When that happened, of course, after having MRIs and X-rays, it was determined that he wouldn't be able to have any body movements from the waist down because he had detached 90% of his spinal cord. So that other 10% left is what controls his upper body movement, his arms and his neck. So now what happens is, they are going to have surgery when the swelling goes down on his back to protect and stabilize that part of what's left of his spinal cord.

Are the doctors saying there is absolutely no chance that Paul will walk again?
No chance. No chance.

How is Paul's mind state as far as coming to the realization that will never able to walk again and his boxing career will be over?
Paul told me after I left the hospital room today....he said 'Pete, that means I'm going to have to do standup comedy again.' He said 'Pete, don't believe none of that stuff, I'll be back.' I was there for about eight hours yesterday and today.

Fucking gutted today. First Tapia is dead, now Williams is paralyzed.

Tapia was a beast, and fought with 100% heart all the time, but we never thought we'd have him around as long as we even did.

Williams though, too soon.. haven't felt this sad about boxing since we lost Forrest, and before that Chico.

The whole fight really depends on Manny. If he's going to put in a shit effort, Bradley is going to put a hurt on him. This isn't a shot Margarito, a hugging/high fiving Mosely, or a terrified Clottey, Bradly is going to go out on his shield. Manny needs his A Game. Not his distracted, legs cramping, I love gambling and whores, now I love God, oh and I'm also a congressman game.

Being boxing, if Manny doesn't leave the ring on a stretcher, he's getting at least a draw.

what I want to happen: Bradley KO 9.

vs

what will prob happen: Manny by decision

equals:

LOL Boxing result: unintentional clash of heads in round 2, technical draw.

Can't sleep over how bad a decision Adamek UD12 Chambers was. Chambers schooled him all night, made him miss and connected one third (!) of his punches. Adamek threw more than twice as many punches and numerous inefficient flurries and still managed to get outpunched over 12 by a 1-armed Chambers who injured his left arm in round 1 and didn't use it for 11 rounds.
Nowaydays, being busier is the safe route to winning a decision as opposed to clean and effective punching as it used to be. The difference in skill was fucking devastating. One judge had it 119-109 for Adamek FFS.

Chavez looked good tonight. He's looked good his past couple of fights.

Looks like the date vs Sergio Martinez is already set, September 15th in Vegas.
