The 3D sequel on PS2 was not terrible by any means. Had some cool ideas and was fun, but not what I wanted necessarily after the super-awesome 2D fighter.

I'm trying to figure out the roster format... One hero and one villain per chapter? Probably not, because both Gyro and Johnny are in the trailer, and Wamuu seems an odd choice over Kars for 2.

It's definitely going to be interesting, especially if there's a story mode ala Naruto: UNS, because there's simply too much content to just do one/two fights then the main antagonist. Stardust Crusaders is obviously going to be the focus (though even then I wouldn't be surprised if they cut Abdul or Iggy), and I'd say Stone Ocean will get the short end of the stick. There's always All Star Battle 2 lulz.

Regardless of how many characters it ends up having... HYPE.

I dunno about Polpo, he's a pretty huge fat dude with an Automatic Stand. Doesn't seem that good for a fighting game. Unless he sits in the background and you control Black Sabbath directly.

Same with Ungaro, Bohemian Rhapsody seems a bit crazy to include since it's whole deal was bringing cartoon characters to life and then forcing people to follow the stories they identify with.

But hey, if they can somehow work that into a moveset, that'd be cool.

The PS2 CC2 naruto games were actually pretty good.

There was a small New York based community formed around playing the games at a high level.

It was actually pretty impressive if you opened your mind up to what a fighting game can be.


That said their HD efforts weren't as good and this seems to have more incommon with those games than the PS2 ones.

Still looks great for fans though and I'm one of those for sure

I imagine that out of the all the Pillar Men, Cars might be the other one we get in the game since he was the final villain. Santana and ACDC were both a bit more one-note, with the former serving as a Raditz-character basically and the latter was a similar fodder character to show Joseph's growth.

As much as I like 8ing, their record has been just as much in the way of "hit and miss" in the last decade. Or do we need to dredge up the likes of Castlevania: Judgment, Fate: UC, and a few of them earlier Kamen Rider games? :lol

Castlevania Judgment was a low budget game so they didnt bother and Kamen Rider games they can make any crap and they sell themselves.

EDIT: For the record I only ever played this game casual. I never got into any of the deeper stuff till MVC3 and even then the bird seemed easy when I played on dreamcast as a total noob. I mained Vanilla Ice BTW.

Well at least I get a great arcade beat em up style game in All Rider Generation. I grew up on TMNT2 Arcade so a beat em up with stage challenges, unlocks, unique movesets, hypers, meter, levels, and hidden stuff is definitely great in my eyes. Especially considering they managed to get things like Clock Up to work properly.

Someday though...me and Kamen Rider Skull are gonna fly together in a "real" fighter.

I have no intentions of getting a PS3, but I just remembered Next Level was a thing. Maybe I can play it there when it comes out!

I was working through the manga last year but got mired down at 4 when I ran out of quality fan-translations... my japanese is has been getting a little better, I should just hit up book-off and read them there. It took waay too long to read the first time I tried.

Has anyone read Rohan goes to the Louvre? I was pleasantly surprised when I found an English version right before PAX East this year. It's gorgeously disgusting.

The problem with Jojo is that it has many, many, many trademark infringements.
With the previous works that have made it here, like the Capcom fighter and the OVA series and the manga, there were names that had to be changed.

Probably the biggest "threat" that's most likely to come up is Gold Experience, the Stand of Part 5's hero Giorno Giovanna. This is named after a Prince album, and Prince is extremely protective of his work to the point that most of his songs don't even play on the radio anymore (in my country).
It is believed that Prince or his lawyers found out about the reference in the PS2 game for Part 5, and issued action that had Capcom cancel the game's North American release (which was already in production and promoted in magazines).

I don't think this, or the anime if it covers far into the manga, will be translated into English. There's no way they'd be making a long anime though if they weren't safe from litigation while in Japan.

I don't think budget/time has as much to do with it as you may think. If such were otherwise, chances are games like Naruto GNT/CON, Bleach: Heat the Soul, Fate: UC, their Gashbell fighter and Battle Stadium D.O.N. probably would have had an overall level of quality closer together than they would have apart.

In other words, there's a reason why most people wrote off 8ing before their involvement with Capcom's recent Vs. games. Because most considered Bloody Roar 3 their last "good" game.

I don't know. I bring up Giorno because he's a protagonist and Prince is hypercephalic in the way I described. It's the most volatile of IPs that Araki has trod on. Changing to "Golden Experience" may not be enough.
In my opinion, avoiding the west altogether is preferable to a potential chain reaction shitstorm of lawsuits from the entertainment and fashion industries.

While I doubt they're going to peter out and go all Dissidia with 20 characters at most, I can't see them going higher than 25-30.
