I still don't get where this is. Do I have to download this app? Was on Live over the weekend looking for the deals and couldn't find them. Maybe I'm blind.

Go to the Games tab and click on the upper right corner box (where you usually find the Deal of the Week) In there, in the middle box (where you can scroll through 3 different items), it's the first "dot".

Not sure if it's listed under the Apps tab or not. That only has TV, Video, Music and Social apps and this doesn't fall under any of those categories.

I had to log on to my US account to grab it, but go the bing search at the far left of the Dashboard and search "Sale". Thats what got it for me.

Don't forget to buy the DLC.

:D

I bought it :) It..l it's locked in single player until I unlock it with tokens? Well, alright then.

Game feels a bit flat. Colors arent as punchy and the game isn't as insane as H2Overdrive. Maybe it'll get more colorful as time goes on. Though, I have just been playing Dyad, so anything looks drab by comparison.

Hey guys, I am not sure if this is the right place to write this, but a word of warning.

DO NOT BUY NINJA GAIDEN BLACK on Xbox Live Market place.

Its busted and does not download more than 2 gigs.

I have spoken to MS and they told me they can't do shit as Tecmo-Koei hosts the files.

I lost 800 MS Points.

It's working now. Sounds like the person spoke to was talking out of their ass.

Dungeon Fighters Live - 800msp, 394MB.

Dungeon Fighter has a horrible trial... None of the enemies in the demo so much as move unless you stand around doing nothing.

Eh, I think they let you level up some, and try a higher difficulty. But it's the same kinda thing on PC; With the longer recovery times, enemies will hit you alot before you learn to cancel your moves into dashes and whatnot.

I mean, anyone who knows games knows it's not going to STAY like that, and that the beginning is just an overglorified training ground, right? -shrug-

I thought it got the gist across (especially since you also played through the prologue beforehand), and I actually kinda liked how it threw a video at you right when you were about to embark on a new quest. Like "Aww man, shut up and take my money, I need to continue this mission!" style timing.

I deleted it after 10 minutes, game is terrible. Tony Hawk will save us.

Heh, not terrible at all, but yeah, different taste. The idea of a couch-co-op-less T-Hawk is much more annoying to me, for instance.

Wasn't Dungeon Fighter supposed to be free to play?

Nope. That was an assumption, but it's never anything they officially said. People assumed it'd be a port, it's turned out to be it's own self-contained, story expanded episode, that takes DFO elements, and retools them into a more straight-arcadey beat-em-up.

---

I won't talk more of DF in this thread, onto the little info thread I set up earlier...

Wait does the trial continue after the video then? I thought that was the end cause that's how every other XBLA trial works

I know the game would get better once there's enemies that fucking MOVE, but I've never seen a game make starter enemies this braindead. It was about the worst way to show off the game cause I barely had to even play the game. Not to mention it was all 1 enemy type until the "boss" ...the same enemy with some backpack or something that also stood there doing nothing.

There are some games that let you continue after the marketing... but I'm not sure if this is one, because I bought it then, didn't wanna lose progress.

This DFO does force you to fight the beginning enemies through the difficulties more than the PC game, so I guess they start them off even stupider that normal.

With DFO (And DFL, I suppose) controls, I could overlook the enemey complaints, because the first impression was "Wow, a modern BEU with proper hybrid fighter controls and systems! Lets see where the depth in the system lies.." and learning to special, dash, and back-hop cancel, along with learning how the base combo varies by direction held while performing it, gave me enough to play around with, to basically see the early missions as "Dan in a training room, ready to get beat up!".

I do think this game will turn out best with those who see it as an option alongside the free DFO, either letting it replace the PC game when they play this with new friends, or give them the chance to play the "old days" while fighting in different content on PC.

It might not be the best "console gamer" trial, but I think getting to play the special Slayer with (nearly?) all his moves was smart, and a bit more than I even expected them to do. He's a character who'se more fleshed out than you'll be for hours of gameplay, fighting at least 1 enemey that you might not even see in normal PC DFO if you just play straight and normal.

I was going to purchase Fez but then decided to wait and try the trial for DFL to see if I should pick that up instead.

I played the trial and it wasn't BAD but it's something I wouldn't purchase right now.

My money will be going to Fez shortly.

Not really interested in the summer of arcade games at the moment but maybe my opinion will change once I try some demos.

My next definite purchase should be Rock Band Blitz. Rhythm games all day.

Man, it looks like it's gonna be pretty NOT ENOUGH DATA to get all those!

That's all the achievements for SoA out there except Dust now.
Was going to say "finally, a multiplayer game on XBLA that doesn't have achievements that require you to play for like 150 hours," but nevermind... There's one for prestiging six times. And "win a season" could be a ridiculous depending on what that means. Really wish these devs would understand that unless they have the Batman license, their game is going to be a barren wasteland a couple of months after release. :(

Well Seasons last roughly 2 weeks, and if you were hardcore enough and good enough you could full elite in that time, probably sooner.

This just in, guys: In a bizarre twist, Capcom announced today that we will be bringing an HD, feature-filled upgrade of 2D fighting classic JoJo's Bizarre Adventure to Xbox Live on August 21st and PSN on August 22nd for 1600 MSP and $19.99 respectively, titled JoJo's Bizarre Adventure HD Ver.

If you missed out on this game back in the PS1/Dreamcast era, here's the basic gist. Based on a famous story arc from the hit JUMP manga series of the same name,JoJo is a most gorgeous Capcom fighter of the zaniest order. Expect insane combos and a dynamic, over-the-top roster. Each character has the power to unleash a supernatural familiar known as a "Stand," giving them access to incredible special moves.

The coming version will also include upgraded HD visuals and a robust set of online features comparable to those inSuper Street Fighter IV and Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

When is Capcom going to get a clue and release Powerstone on XBLA?

At this point they've "perfected" bringing over their 2D fighters courtesy of Iron Galaxy. Plop the ROM into the shell, redesign the menus and rewrite the achievements and internal challenges an you've got a game. It's like SEGA's backbone games, only actually good renditions.

Powerstone shpuldn't be too hard really, but the online play would require major reworking. Also prople can't decide whether they want 1 or 2. Maybe the Jojo pricing will allow for a twofer package.

At this point Capcom should port over Megaman X PSP as well.

If they ever do it they would defintely have to bring both games as a package. I'd gladly pay $20 for it.

Damn that Spelunky! I can't play anything else, yet I can't seem to make any progress in it either. Anyone else stuck in the same spot?

Well Seasons last roughly 2 weeks, and if you were hardcore enough and good enough you could full elite in that time, probably sooner.
So only one person can get that achievement every 2 weeks? What happens if the same kid plays Hybrid all day every day and hogs that spot for the next six months? Just sounds like an all-around bad and pointless idea to me...

How content packed was the game on the original platform? There must be a reason they feel they can get away with charging that much and it can't be just because it's a remaster...but then this is Capcom.

This is the first time they've ever released 2 CPS III games together. Compared to TSOE (Which was just third strike, with no way to access any content of new generation or 2nd impact), they probably see this is a weightier (In straightforward content) release.

It's also a licensed game. Unlike MVC, which the game was worth grabbing a license for for a multitude of releases, this is something they're really only going to be able to use once (the upcoming Jojo's current gen came is made by CC2.)

I don't think this is the BEST idea for their first 20 buck DLC fighter (should have started off with something with more clout, or more titles, like Darkstalkers HD which collects all versions, or make it 2 different games, like Warzard + 2nd Jojo's game), but... this is the way it's happening...

Guncraft could be heading to XBLA

Exato Game Studios told Armless Octopus that they are in discussions with several publishers about bringing Guncraft to Microsoft’s Xbox Live Arcade service. Mojang and Microsoft were mentioned as potential partners, though talks are still in a preliminary state.

“Honestly, it’s just been us shooting emails back and forth between each other,” said Executive Producer and Lead Game Designer John Getty. “No contracts signed or anything. They’ve been very professional, but it’s all very unofficial right now.”

The console port is planned to be “as similar as possible” to the PC version, which just launched in beta form. Getty said that sacrifices may be required if the game does end up on XBLIG instead of XBLA, though the new file size limit may prevent sweeping changes. An XBLA version would allow them to explore console exclusive features, however, like split-screen multiplayer.

I think this is the stuff from the list that hasn't yet been released or dated:

Wow, forgot about Red Johnson. Wife liked the 1st on PS.

---

Can't say I'm excited about Hybrid, MP-Only shooters just aren't my bag. Unfortunately I get nothing for buying 4/5 SoA this year.
