Who said Robin had to suit up that week? He could train for a few years and come back. Hell he could probably ask Bruce to train him.
No one I suppose. But it seems like Bruce went off to Italy never to worry about the Batman again. I mean, that's what Alfred wanted in his dream and it kind of came true.

Everybody's argument is "who said this didn't happen" which is fine, but instead of
giving us a half assed Robin why couldnt they just flesh out the character and make him into something worth the mantle of Batman? Catwoman kind of just tagged along and played the role of Robin throughout the whole movie. If you're going to imply he's going to be the Bat you should probably write his role in a little better then "This kid was an orphan who somehow discovered Bruce Wayne was Batman (another crazy out there plothole.) And then turned into a cop that ends up being Batman." It just feels tacked on.

No sequels please.

Also I loathed the Robin reference. I thought Nolan said he would never do that crap. A lot of the fanservice just felt superfluous and dragged the movie down. I could have done without the entire Scarecrow scene.

It's hard to do Batman without delving into Robin though. Partners and sidekicks are a huge part of the character.

I didn't understand Ra's scene... he was an hallucination, right?

Yes.

What was your reaction when R'as appeared?

Solo, fucking beautiful. It's like reading my mind.

*brofist*

Wait, you thought it was better than BB & TDK?

I haven't ranked it yet. My first line was simply repeating my faux reviews for the lols.

I thought it was a fun tease for a movie that will never actually happen.

I am downright SHOCKED though at how much of the very earliest of speculation and JOKES actually turned out true :lol

- Miranda being Talia Al Ghul
- JGL being Robin

First thing that was speculated and the first joke that caught on, and both end up being true :lol :lol :lol

Also when Bane broke Batman's back. Lols were had.

I just realized something. What was the point of the detonator in the first place?

Why didn't she press it long before to accomplish her father's work. It's like she knew Bruce would return and press the detonator only in his presence, knowing fully well she would die. If she was waiting for Bruce, then she should have just detonated while they had him paraplegic.

Otherwise, if she was going to die, why didn't she detonate the bomb the moment the burning bat symbol appeared. or when the cops were seen freed and the 5-minute war was going to happen? Heck, why not detonate the bomb a month before? I think it was pretty obvious she and Bane were ready to die for the cause, even if it took their lives in the explosion.

God I am trying to love this movie so hard, but all these flaws make feel like I was played for a fool.

So wait, if Talia was the only person that was able to escape from that prison, then how did Bane escape? Did I miss something?

Talia alerted her father, Ra's Al-Ghul and he saved bane from the pit; you see men rappelling down. He took him for a LOS member and later expelled for misconduct, as explained in same sequence.

We knew Miranda would be Talia because there were spy photos of her walking with the Mercanaries in costume back when they were shooting the movie.

Just got back. Awesome movie. I think I still prefer the TDK's story overall, but this was more of a spectacle and a good concluding chapter. Even though the whole nuclear core thing was spoiled for me by the fucking GQ review, there will still enough surprises. Talia obviously wasn't, once those set photos got leaked the cat was out of the bag (forgive the pun), but the back story about the prison did surprise me. I'm also glad I that misinterpreted that Nokia trailer because I figured Bane going into the stock exchange was some 99% terrorism, not corporate espionage before the actual fireworks started.

Having the presidential press conference and the time table of getting back from wherever the hell that prison was seemed off, but the rest of it was great. I had thought going into the movie Selina would be the one to get Bruce out of the prison, not lead him into a trap.

JGL definitely carried the movie, especially for the sequences when Wayne was out of the picture for a while. Bane doesn't quite stack up to the Joker (nothing ever will as far as movies of this type go) but the back story worked great. The only weird part was him sounding like Gary Oldman from Hannibal while Gary Oldman rolled himself into the water flow.

Did anyone else think all the tv actor cameos were kind of weird? We got Teal'c, Franco, Quinn, and William Devane as the fucking president. Were there any others I missed?

He has almost all of the resources of Wayne Enterprises as Alfred will probably help him, can use Lucius for contacts, or pull some Batman Begins shit and travel the world. Hell he could do both. I also assume that while Bruce left and dumped everything on Robin, he probably did leave some way of contacting him and if not then Robin can probably track him down as Bruce isn't sharp. I mean seriously it's not that hard to explain away. Bruce is allowing Robin to become the new Batman, that doesn't mean it has to be immediate process.

I certainly got the sense that Blake was ready to be Batman. Certainly in his attitude and dedication.

I think Bruce realises this right away. The entire movie was building upt to that.

That Bruce just accepts that Blake knows his secret. Commisoner Gordon relying so heavily on him.

It gives the audience a sense of hope that Batman is forever (pardon the pun)

The tease is of course that it will not be pursued by Nolan.

Stop watching movies.

If Talia got out and found Ra's, why did Ra's live in the mountains without her and travel across the world to find Bruce and train him and tried to destroy Gotham, all without her there??

The league of shadows rescued him, it's the part where Ra's and all the other guys rappel down into the prison on ropes (which they seem to have left there).

When bane beats batman to a pulp with catwoman standing there, he starts by saying hello mr Wayne.... But then later in the film catwoman still doesn't know Bruce and batman are one and the same, saying 'your powerfully friend'

Let's all wax lyrical about Bane fucking Batman up again. Gave me fucking chills

The fight scene in the sewer gave me chills. When Bane lifted Batman up over his head I almost lept out of my chair.

Such a fucking great scene. Agh, I need to see this film again, quickly.

The orphan director guy, I've seen him a bunch. The Asian bad guy agent from Prison Break (Blakes "Partner" who dies as soon as he gets out of the sewer) as well as Bellick from Prison Break (and voice of Black Mask in the Red Hood.

BTW, who is Quinn? Is that the CIA guy, from Game of Thrones?

So how long was the city under Bane/Talia's control? I remember that the bomb had a decay of 4 months? If I remember correctly.

I would've liked the movie to have been more clear about how much time passed.

This. And what was the point of the character that wanted to take over Wayne Enterprises and was killed by Bane?

5 months

He gave a lot of the resources Bane needed to get his shit going on. Ultimately they used him to get Talia in a position of power though.

...she does know. Shes just playing with bruce. her reaction shot in the sewers after bane says the name proves that.

I started marking out when he lifted Batman up.

I really didn't believe he was going to break the back, but I knew it was coming after that.

My interpretation was that Catwoman was well aware of who Batman was, hence why the powerful friend thing was always so exaggerated. Seemed pretty clear to me it was almost like an in-joke between the two.

Bruce found Ra's. Or am I getting something twisted here?

I am sure Ra's made good use of Talias talents elsewhere in the world.

Ra's doesn't seem the type to send his kid to college. I am sure he trained her well.

No way would Joker hang about as Bane's lackey.

Indeed. For all of Ledger's Joker's claims of being an agent of chaos and just a crazy dog, etc, he was an incredibly arrogant and egotistical character who would settle only for being the leader of any situation. Now Crane obviously thinks very highly of himself, but him him being subservient to a big boss yet in a position of power over people personally (much like he was in BB) seems to suit him.
