Not yet. Ellis said it would be a while. (Exclusivity agreements and all that.)

Guild rules, theaters different than online/TV etc etc.

I went to see Spiderman* this weekend and I just missed it.

*Had free pass to Cinebarre (theater with alcohol and food that they deliver to you WHILE the movie is playing and it's badass) but couldn't use it for Batman, so I watched Spiderman, because I had heard it was good.

But apparently people are liars, because it was not good. Like, it had cool moments, some great dialog, but also tons of asssinine conventional garbage - and the Lizard's "plot" was almost as vapid as his vaporizer. It was kind of annoying to watch such a good cast and such good moments, only to have them connected by total tripe.

The nighttime swinging scenes though were beautiful. Literally captivating.

I was also completely baffled by Parker's switch between photography doofus and math-biology-genius-out-of-nowhere. Why didn't they just have him find his father's equation and leave his character alone? Also, is that a complete reboot? Or has that thread been in comics somewhere along the line?

But it was in some early build. It's clearly going to be in the final game, in matchmaking.

This was my take as well. I enjoyed the look of the film, and though the guy playing Spiderman did a good job. But the plot flew off the rails in the second half and the whole thing was a mess.

Call me crazy, but there's no way 343 is going to have shotgun load outs in the final game.

From the clip posted a while ago, although it was a clip from the beta, I'm not sure the player actually died even though that shot was from point blank.

Kinda like Shadowrun, only 1 shot kills you could pull off with the shotgun was a headshot to an Elf. Otherwise, the kill time of the Shadowrun shotgun (2 shots) was almost exactly the same as the Assault Rifle, so it came down to situation and preference.

The Amazing Spider-Man is based on the Amazing Spider-Man comics. Dunno if it takes the plot 1 to 1.

Yeah, this was the other possibility I was thinking of. Even with the shotgun not being a load out option, I'm still curious how it may have been tweaked to differentiate it from the Scattershot. Or maybe the Scattershot is already different enough?

The fact that it could have ever been in the game at all saddens me.

This kind of sentiment always baffles me. I happen to know that you, in particular, have a more nuanced understanding of how game development works. That pieces are assembled in such a way that they can be tested, used, tested, used, tested. That the code WE NEED to work with is utterly different in conception than the product we intend to deliver.

And here's a note - that functionality is STILL in the game, so that, for example, you can play team Shotties.

Nope. I was some kind of angry what they did with the plot. I also disliked the new movie.

Shotgun isn't a spawn weapon anymore? Thank God.

And thanks to the guys who suggested I should play Darksiders.. It is so awesome I just preordered Darksiders 2

"Team Scatties" might need to be censored...

Now tell me that jetpack, promethean vision, and active camo have been removed, and I'll be even happier.

Still has camo and jetpack loadouts.

Like, I totally understand that because of Reach people would be sceptical about camo and jetpack, but at least wait and see them in 4, and see how they've approached them :/ I'm not saying it'll be perfect, but at least with Promethean Vision we had seen it and understood why it could be OP. But even that's already being addressed.

Blah. I just don't understand people.

Jetpack breaks map flow. there is nothing they can do to stop that.

camo should be a power up because it promotes map movement and aggression, instead of camping and cowardice with the AA.

Understand people now?

The Halo: Reach "Jet Pack" breaks map flow.

The Halo 4 "Jet Pack" could be renamed a "Jump Pack" an have a totally different functionality.

The only actual images and video we've seen of it was from an early beta build with the shotgun being a copy/past style from Reach.

Frankles/David can you assign player trait zones to specific teams?

That'd be freaking awesome.

Also, can you make a forge map compatible with Infinity Slayer?

Yo 343 peeps. Any word on how you guys are planning on breaking down the playlists? Can we expect "Ranked" and "Social" categories?
God please no!

Why are we talking about AAs being renamed again?

*sigh* I don't see why you're being such a smartass. Whatever. I like to think they can take stuff away from Reach and learn from it. I don't think it'll play exactly like Reach did.

Because "Evade" is now "Thruster Pack," "Armor Lock" is now the "Hardlight Shield."

Jet Pack WAS one of the more "game breaking" AAs, so it's likely to assume it would take the longest to balance and rebalance, as well as rename.

Wha... I...

Eh. Never mind. Frank answered you more eloquently than I would have. (The fact that you're judging 343 on what someone with a beta version decides to set up in their own home blows me away, though.)

Armor lock and hardlight shield are almost nothing alike. I'll give you thruster and evade though.

Jet pack is the type of thing you either do or don't do. Even if it is just a jump jet it will still do most of the annoying things the reach jetpack does.

I tried Darksiders. People told me it was like a more mature Zelda, but what I found was a hack n slash with some puzzle/dungeon elements.

I don't know why you are hating on what he said. Bungie messed up bad with Reach by adding all these armour abilities that pretty much ruined map control and gameplay. Notice in playlists like Arena (the only ranked gametype) there is only sprint and hologram. The reason for that is it brought back competitive play and made the game much more fun for those who actually wanted to play to win. Unfortunatly, the Arena was introduced in a crappy way by Bungie and till this day players don't know how they get ranked in the playlist. I just want 343 to ship the game without having to correct a bunch of things in a month or so, because then the community will be divided again with those who like it the way it is and those who want a bunch of changes. I just hope all these AAs are in a Social/Non-competitive playlist.

So you've just equated a double jump with the ability to hover in the air, as well as go from red street to blue street on Countdown.

I don't even think you could get up to radios or main bridge on countdown with a double jump, so a "double jump" version of Jet Pack would not do "the annoying things the reach jetpack does."

Double jump would be a masterful troll when it comes to assassinating people chasing you. Even if they predict it, chances are they won't expect you to hop a second time. Not to mention baiting people off the edge of maps before double jumping to safety.

Careful... too much logic and too little hyperbole mixed with unsupported opinion. Internet may implode around your post...

jump jet =/= double jump bro.

If you want to talk about double jumps, that's fine. No problem with that.

From the little footage we've seen the Jetpack seems to function similarly to the Reach variant. If it were a Jumppack I would imagine it just giving you a quick boost upward. In the MTW video and Spec Ops clip it seems like it just slowly lifts you up in the air like the Reach Jetpack does. If it's the same they should definitely decrease the height it can lift you up to significantly.

I don't know, I would rather just see it completely removed, though. Same with camo. But then again I would rather see them as pick-ups so you can do more with the AAs but that ship has sailed a long time ago.

Jetpacks AS THEY EXISTED IN REACH will be bad in 4.

Camo AS IT EXISTED IN REACH will be bad in 4.

Can someone tell me why 343 would atively remove those from Reach only to put them straight back in Halo 4, unchanged?

I know we haven't been told anything about Camo or Jetpack in 4... but isn't it just a bitt too childish and naive to assume they'll be the same?

Jetpack could be a more vertical Thruster for all we know. Care to suggest otherwise? Camo could literally only take you off the radar, remove your Gamerta from showing up and you won't show up on people using PV but no, it must function EXACTLY like in Reach, even though 343 have noted, and acted on, it's flaws.

I don't know why you describe what I said as "hating on" what he said. I merely suggested people wait before requesting the removal of things we've yet to see. I even said I agree, and that people would be sceptical after the way it played Reach, but that doesn't prove anything about Halo 4 yet.

Anyway, hoppin' on Reach.

You are talking about footage of Microsoft-intern Beta build. Stuff gets still tweaked. But like Hydranockz said 343i knows which problems the specific AA had in Reach.

I think one of the best middle grounds for the Jet Pack would give you the height of a double jump upon activation, and only let you glide down from that height.

So, you could jump once, then activate Jet Pack again to double jump, then from that height you could use it to glide downwards only.

Also, I'm sad to hear that the shotgun isn't a default loadout. I think there could have been ways to do it, even if it wasn't what people expected from the human shotgun after Halo 3 or Reach.

Maybe a double barrel shotgun with only two shells that was an automatic. So if you landed both shots on a fully shielded opponent they would drop, but after those two shots you'd have to reload. The kill speed of landing those two shots would be the same as the Assault Rifle kill time from a closer distance, so the AR gives you a little better mid-range game, and this double barrel shotgun gives you a little better close range game.

Would have been fun to run a DMR/BR and a Double Barrel shotgun using Firepower.

Damn.

I don't think 343 has removed jetpack or camo for any playlists. They did tweak camo a little in the TU but it still is nearly as bad as in vanilla Reach.

Well no shit. I'm just saying that from what we've seen so far it seems that it functions the same. It doesn't look like a jump pack.
