Nintendo Downloads - August 2012

Commando: Steel Disaster comes out next week. Anybody know if its the exact same as the cartridge release? Anybody play the original? Big metal slug fan and I'm interested.

So I'm confused about something. What exactly is a Turbo Express? Is it akin to what Sega did with the Nomad? (A portable TG16) Or something else entirely?

I downloaded Golf for free. It's awful. I want NGPC support and Neo Turf Masters now, dammit. :(

Big mistake on Nintendo's part. I bought into almost all the weekend deals, as I'm sure many others did.

The only deal I was able to buy was the Colors 3D one... would have bought anything on discount I didn't have already.

NoA: One step forward, two steps back, then going back on the one step forward

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free

You act as if Game of the weekend will never again be brought back.

I'm sure it will be brought back... eventually.

Weekend sales should be there every weekend though. They have tons of 3DS software, 3D Classics, Virtual Console, and DSiWare to dig into. Weekend discounts are something to look forward to and will get more people to buy a game, and it's moronic to just stop doing it after a month.

I just hope that there are still some sales once Month of Mario is done... themed months would be an ok replacement

Sad they didn't put up Dillon's Rolling Western for Deal of the Weekend.

No way I'm buying it for $9.99.

Wow, really excited now for Nano Assault EX, especially since I skipped on the retail version. I wasn't keen on picking the game up after hearing about the lack of inverted controls. Hopefully that gets fixed.

What's this non-sense about deal of the weekend ending? They are still running weekly deals it's just Mario themed this month.

So I guess when they said they were going to start releasing two Virtual Console games per week, they really did only mean for July.

*sigh*
Even worse, we still have those two garbage Game Gear Sonics to get through. I have a bad feeling they might comprise our entire August VC lineup. :(

They said last week's was their "final" Deal of the Weekend. These Mario sales are fine and everything (except for the fact that half of them were on sale recently anyway), but after these are over, there probably won't be any more weekly sales for a while.

Unless there are, in which case, cool. Maybe a Kirby month. There are enough games for that. (I have them all, but whatever.)

Please don't say that D:

Maybe we'll get Shantae this month... would be nice. Isn't it almost ready to go?

A Kirby month in Late August - Early September before the release of The Dream Collection would be a great idea.

Game of the Weekend :(

Virtual Console Games :(

:(

NOA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

...anywayz

That Lost Town game sounds like a sequal to a DSiWare game I bought and kinda enjoyed. Might look into it if I beat the original.

ROAR

I thought the 8-But summer lasted till August 5th? Didn't they announce that? (Tho its August 2nd so that would be weird...) They didn't even release those Sonix games. WTF is with Game Gear games continously getting delayed? Wat.

I think I might buy Zen Pinball soon. Really wanna try out a pinball game.

I've gotten all the treasures in Wario Land but don't think I'll 100% it.

Started playing Mole Mania and it is already kinda hard after one level but I really like it. The music is way to repetitive tho :( It should keep changing between 3-4 tracks in every screen or something.

I guess its all over with Nintendo releasing stuff on VC. Imma going back to play Alleyway.

Does anyone else think it's a little odd that no Pokemon GB/GBC games have being released on the 3DS VC yet, or even hinted at? We've had entries from just about every other big Nintendo franchise (Mario, Kirby, Zelda) but no Pokemon, which is odd given how big a seller it is.

And we know from Sega's addition to Columns GG they could add wi-fi battling & trading to R/B/Y/G/S/C. Plus there's the TCG and Pinball games.

1) Pokemon is pointless without trading (nintendo's gameboy emulator is a joke comparing it with game gear's emulator
2) They don't want you to give you to a 200hour rpg with 3-4euro

Hey guys I haven't bought a eshop or dsiware game in a long time, the last I got was Pushmo. I'm looking for a few new games to enjoy. I'm specifically looking for games that are good pickup and play games, that i can play in short bursts. Also I'm generally interested in just very well made games.

Here's what I currently own:

Pushmo
Aquia
DK 94
Starship defense (love this game)
excite bike 3d
puzzle league express
boxlife
four swords
sudoku

all ambassador games

Not really, I doubt I've done more than 50 trades across all games. And we know wireless trading can be added in in lieu of link cables.

I'll concede the 2nd point however. Although that doesn't explain the lack of of the spin-off games.

Will QA for food.

Mighty Switch Force is made up of shorter levels, ranging from 30 seconds to a few minutes. You're basically trying to learn the levels so you can complete them quickly. Puzzle platformer sort of gameplay. Really quite a good looking and polished game.

Game and Watch Gallery 2 (GBC), is a collection of G&W titles. Personally, this is my favourite from the series and it's a great title to pick up for a few minutes to burn time. Generally catchy music and it's not actually ugly, unlike a lot of titles from its time. Cheap too.

PiCTOBiTS, another Art Style game (ie; from Boxlife creators), is an amazing and challenging puzzle game. You're tasked with matching block colours to complete puzzles based on 8-bit sprites. Catchy music too, and maybe my favourite DSiWare title.

I'd fully recommend Aura Aura Climber. I was addicted to it for a solid month last fall. Can easily play for five minutes or an hour, and it's really fun

Emulating the link cable is tricky. It took old school Gameboy emulators a very long time to work it out if they ever did.

Game Gear Columns is getting wireless local MP, isn't it? If M2 (Or whoever are doing Sega's GG VC games) can emulate the Game Gear link cable, surely Nintendo can be arsed to at least try with their GB games.

Even if you do try to Catch 'Em All™, Pokémon Red and Blue are not close to 200 hour RPGs.

try max leveling all your pokemans ;)

I was speculating before the launch of eShop that nintendo would use the infrared for the link cable emulation, boy was I wrong. We got a second circle pad

I've been playing pointless Pokemon for 14 years now? I've never traded a Pokemon in my whole life.

I exagerate but you know the whole concept it to trade for the 100% completion and/or battle. I haven't traded either myself (only to glitch copy mew on blue over9000 times for friends)

They won't release the Pokemon RPGs on the eShop while they can still make money remaking them.
Your best bet for Pokemon on the eShop is the trading card game or the pinball game and both of those were fucking awesome.

Then you never were the very best, like no one ever was :(

I remember when I completed the Pokédex in Yellow, and I printed the diploma with the GB Printer. Good days :D

Yes I am! ... or maybe not, but I don't care, all I care is playing the game's story and leveling the pokemon I already have. :3
