I know you said generally but Midship/Heretic is easily one of the best maps in both Halo 2 and 3. Just thinking about BRs on Midship makes me want to fire up the xbox.

Asymmetrical maps can be awesome. Last Resort is not.
Halo 2 to Halo 3 remakes typically work decently because the game mechanics are more similar to each other than any other Halo games.
Given the player abilities and sandbox of Reach and Halo 4, most maps form the original three games are just not going to work nearly as well as they did for the original games.

Would prefer desolation or whatever it was called in 2. Preferably no remakes or pull a gears and remake a majority of the maps as day one download

I was never a huge fan of Zanzibar in the first, and I try to avoid Last Resort whenever possible, but the game of Territories we just played – I was having a lot of fun. And now thinking about, I have played a couple of games of Territories on Last Resort and I remember enjoying the majority of them.
I don't remember what Territories was like in Halo 2, but whichever version is better, all I know is I was having fun.
Also, I heard good things about Oddball on Guardian. Those things are true. Great map and gametype combo.

The question is how did they find Requiem? They have not found the first Halo without the help of Cortana who did a slipspace jump to the Installation. They discovered the second Halo-Installation shortly afterwards. Glasslands-Spoiler
Could it have to do something with the ending of Glasslands?

At the end of Halo 3 Cortana puts out a distress beacon. Judging by the way Halo 4 starts (being boarded by Covies) maybe they have tracked Chief and Cortana and as a result stumble upon Requiem and their "God". Keep in mind that they have had 4 years to search for more Forerunner structures.
I haven't read Glasslands, but is there a figurehead trying to get control of the Covenant again?

My original plan was to do it for HALOween, so it wouldn't need to be too high quality, but then I was thinking I could wear it to one of the days at Eurogamer Expo.
I've got some Army Surplus gear from eBay and I'm making a whip arm out of cloth. I'm thinking to have my head inside an infection form and have a fake head hanging off to the side.

They used 3 Plots.
Last Resort's issues were just bizarre. Structurally, the base design was just flatout bad, and that was the whole idea of protecting the flag and bomb arm spot in Zanzibar. The gate was practically useless now since you can hop over it. Camp Froman was expanded, and not for a good way - led to many more players just camping and sitting with equipment waiting to be used (bubble shields). Didn't like the seawall changes too much; the small seawall cave felt raised, and thus you couldn't crouch jump up into it like you normally could before. They forced you to go around, or use the grav lift (one less flag route erased). The other was very poor equipment and weapon placement. Too much equipment, like most maps, and obviously the Laser. One led to players sitting behind walls and in rooms just waiting to throw one down in sight of an intruder, and the other killed any vehicle activity. Map fell flat in objective modes where Zanzibar shined. I guess Assault getting changed to instant arm was another major change for it, so once you combine both those changes - it really left a sour taste in my mouth. From one of the best map/gametypes combos in 2 to.. that.
