Rinne no Lagrange 5-6

Muginami is an idiot, confirmed. And not in a cute way.

Hadn't mentioned this before but I do like the OP quite a bit. Pretty cool animation and the song's catchy.

Yeah most people really love the Rinne OP.
Mugi is definitely not the sharpest tool in the drawer.

Gundam Seed 29

What an amazing show, very nice OST and emotional. I dont like the main character though, why are there no other Gundam pilots. Flay is horrible.

Noumi steals Haru's wings

Now I hear a lot of shit about how whiny Haru is, but honestly I like his character. He's realistic. He's not stupidly brash or debonair, he's just a short little fat guy who has to put up with typical bullying stuff. I think he deals with it well all things considered.
Losing an awesome unique power
like he did would upset anyone really into a game. Think about how upset you would be if you worked hard for something and
it was just stolen from you.

Oh yeah, the end of the episode was interesting.
Ash Roller
is fucking awesome. And is this the fabled
Sky Raker
I got a glimpse of? My god her voice is cute.

Kira yamato's fan nickname is Jesus due to his hax skill n all that idealism.

Btw I'm confused why I like Amuro but hate Kira, isn't they basically a same character?

Amuro is the guy from the first Gundam series right? Ive seen a funny gif of him somewhere on gaf lol.

I like Setsuna from 00 a lot more, he doesnt bitch or
steal away his friend's girlfriend.

@amishpriest: nice, the show shouldnt only revolve around kira.

The reason why Amuro is better than Kira (or why I think he turns out better)? Kira didn't have Bright Noa around to give him a correction punch.

You're really making this show seem interesting. Don't be too spoilery with the images!
I am?
It seems there are many breasts in Divergence Eve. Big, bouncy ones. It also apparently has some kind of serious sci-fi story too.

Okay, I admit it. They had me at big breasts. I'll look into this.
All of the women in this universe have giant tits, except for the loli android.
Yeah I saw this around the time I watched Saikano too. I must have been in a depression anime phase. Not DEPRESSED just watching depressing anime.

I'm not a huge fan of depressing shows, but I'm so far ok with this show because of all the hilariously bad CG.
And the tits.

Thats why I recommended this of course. I knew you would appreciate what it offered :)

Woah, I haven't really watched anime in years and randomly decided to check out both K-on and Death Note. Both were really amazing shows. K-On was really charming and the characters were so much fun, I need to watch the movie asap. Death Note was another fantastic ride, I never expected to actually like the show, I'm not usually big fan of any shows with demons etc. But the whole cat and mouse chase was great and the demon world stuff was mainly in the background and didn't overwhelm the show at any point. Not to mention I really liked the main character, you don't see many protagonist like him often.

I think I will start watching anime again, I don't even dare to wonder what I have missed these past years. Is there GAF's yearly top 10s or something like that? At the moment I would like something light hearted and fun to watch, just like K-On, something to watch from time to time when I have nothing else to do. I also would like show with good story arcs kinda like Death Note. I am going to check out Tsugumi Ohba's other show too. There was also some show about two brothers and space? There was thread about it here on GAF but can't remeber the shows name.

The space show is Space Brothers.

If you want something story heavy then check out Steins;Gate. As for something lighthearted, you should definitely watch Usagi Drop.

The Space Show is Uchuu Kyoudai or Space Brothers.
Its very good. The music is really awesome too.

I don't know if you like shows about games/tournaments but Chihayafuru is pretty good too.

On a related note I picked up volume 6 of the manga today. Will be enjoying what are probably some season 4 previews!

Just so you know, Ohba's other series, Bakuman, is COMPLETELY different from Death Note. It's just about the manga industry.

I know you said you wanted light-hearted stuff for now, but when you do want more stuff like Death Note, check out Kaiji, One Outs and Mirai Nikki.

:D I can't believe it's actually called space brothers. I was going to google Space Brothers TV show but then I decided not to because it's never that easy. Edit. Some of my favorite anime shows are sport animes (H2,Slam Dunk,Hajime no Ippo,Touch,Cross Game). I will check out Chihayafuru.

its a card game, but a real one:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karuta

Its a show more about slice of life drama/competition than shounen action because of the nature of the game being played.

Yeah I read the synopsis, I expect it to be kind of slice of life show set in manga industry. I'm also looking something similar to Death Note. I do like the slice of life shows but some times I need to watch something with gripping story. I will but your recommendations under surveilance. Thanks.

I don't mind that all, I remeber watching some show about mahjong many years ago, and it was mainly about the actual game without much distraction you usually see in shounen shows.

Thanks guys for all the recommendations already. I will hit the sack now since I gotta go work soonish, but I'll return tomorrow.

Bakuman is pretty good, definitely check it out at least, its rather fresh, compelling and addicting and the third season this fall.

He's gotten a bit better since that episode, but back then at times he was simply unbearable imo.

I haven't gotten to that part yet, but yeah, Cartman
turning into a wreck from losing his wings
makes perfect sense. The development of Cartman's self-worth is just an illusion -- he only values himself insofar as he is useful to Kuroyukihime, and
without his wings
he's useless and thus worthless.

Cartman's character and the downsides of wish-fulfillment are really surprisingly well done. It's too bad (for me at least) that it's mired in haremshit and pandering and doesn't do a good enough job acknowledging how utterly fucked in the head Kuroyukihime is.

I have heard it mentioned but when it comes to mech fiction I'm pretty selective. I like mechs that look like they come from BattleTech universe and less like Gundam mechs. So far I have really liked Votoms and Patlabor saga. Especially the second Patlabor movie was great, I did like the not so serious tv show too. I will give Geass a shot but I won't promise I like it. If I want to get into Gundam where should I start? I don't mind old animation at all so should I start from the original show? Or is it any good?

Edit. I'm off to bed for real this time.

Its a phenomenon.

Don't think of Geass as mech fiction. Think of it as a better Death Note.

If you're going to watch the original Gundam, watch the movie triolgy. The Tomino pacing isn't as painful in that.

Watch Code Geass. Don't let anyone persuade you not to. It's positively amazing.

Also, watch Gurren Lagann. Same reasons.
