Still getting those HKShip.exe crashes. Unbelievable. I just cannot play this game.
Thinking of uninstalling and just watching the rest on YouTube, which I never do. What a shame.
The first thing you should always do if a steam game is crashing is verify the game cache.
Only just got the game I have an issue where the game has boarders when running full screen. I'm llaying on a pc hooked up to my 42 tv in 1080p never had this problem before. Is there any way to force the game to over scale?
Main menu. Even editing the XML file doesn't work. I also tried deleting it, redownloading, verifying cache. Nothing works. Game is a broken mess.
No one has a solution if you are not able to change the graphics settings?
The XML editing should work. Did you try setting it as Read Online?
Read only, yes. Still the HiRest textures shows "off" in the options menu besides I set it to 1!
Could be because it's not installed correctly, other people had that problem. Try verifying the game's cache.
Also, you did install it right? It's not included per default afaik.

I verified it several times. It shows under "DLC" for Sleeping Dogs, not much I can do there to reinstall it or whatever.
Make the advanced graphic settings, save them, back out of the display options but DO NOT SAVE when it asks you.
Tried this as well, doesn't work. As soon as you change an option in the advanced menu, others jump around as well.
Do you have the settings set to Custom?
Intel i7-2600k @ 4.8ghz
GeForce GTX 590
16gb DDR3
With all settings cranked to max I got average 40fps in the benchmark, and 60 if I turned Ambient Occlusion to Medium.
The first game I've played so far to get less than 60fps on maximum settings, but it looks fucking incredible.
Even if I do it doesn't change a thing. It's just not working, it's broken. I reinstalled the whole game already.

I got it to work by saving each setting before moving on to the next one. The graphics options are completely bugged though
Are you keeping the game up to date? They stated in the patch notes that this was fixed.
I was having the exact same issue and the patch fixed it for me.
Patch from when? I redownloaded the game this morning.
there was a patch recently, I think end of last week that fixed the graphics save options. I can save the settings just fine now.
Anyone here have a laptop with a GTX 680m? Wondering what the performance is like with this game.
I'm getting a lot of crashes too. I've been going down this list of potential fixes, maybe one will help those similarly affected:

I had this problem with another Square Enix D11 game(Deus Ex HR) and I resolved my crashing issues by turning up my voltage on my card. I've read the voltage can be too low on stock, when dealing with D11 features.
Game is running fine for me, but despite what the benchmark says, i'm getting quite a bit of stuttering ingame, when i simply walk around or pan the camera.
I'm installing the 305.67 drivers now (i had the .53) to see if it works better.
When sprinting or fighting it looks like the character animations are happening at twice the speed they should. Is that normal? I've set my refresh rate and framerate limiter to 75.
I'm on an SSD and the initial load time is about 5 seconds. Nothing much after that.
Too bad it crashes after 5 minutes.
