Skeletor?
Panther is less emo/whiny, smarter, richer, has better tech, is a better and more physically capable fighter, does more for his people, and generally handles situations better and more efficiently than Batman.Batman has only better villains. That's about it ?

God, reading this thead and the one about most powerful comic book characters made me realize how much I hate majority of Marvel :]
So, Batman is better.

So to me? Yes.
He put arm lock on silver surfer....just how fucking retarded is that? Seriously.Miight I ask why
I don't understand where you got that from.
Why is Batman fighting D-tier heroes? What's next, Moon Knight?
Well that's what I find grating about a character. If you are going write a character as picture perfect and nigh unbeatable at whatever he does, then you already lost me.
Tchalla supposedly does everything better than any human in existence.
I can see why BP can never be big as Batman.
EDIT: I should say as much as I love Batman, I hate Batgod depictions.
But despite all of that, Panther loses to people in his universe because against Hulks, Thors, etc being a smart rich guy isn't enough. Panther has made mistakes.Well that's what I find grating about a character. If you are going write a character as picture perfect and nigh unbeatable at whatever he does, then you already lost me.

And that batgod depictions is one of the main ones. When someone says batman can beat supes seriously, then scoff at bp armbaring surfer, there's something wrong there.

Batman sidesteps all of that with lolgadgetspreptime.
Are you kidding me? Batman beating Supes in Dark Knight Returns was much more belivable than BP armbanding Silver Surfer :]
This. End. Close the thread.Panther.
Batman will prepare to fight Black Panther. Black Panther prepares to fight anything.
Batman IS prep time, though.I never buy this Batman prep time shit. Dude got owned by Bane in his own town. Screw that prep time.
D tier? What the hell?

Superman is naive and trusting. Batman doesn't go around soloing Doomsday or Darkseid. Silver Surfer is more powerful than guys like Thor, the mere idea of a human, Batman or Black Panther, being able to touch him is pure fanwankery.
Beta Ray Bill, who has the power of a norse god and advanced alien technology, has issues with Silver Surfer, but you're telling me that some rich dude can totally get the sneak on Silver Surfer. Black Panther's fanbase is Wolverine fanbase levels of delusional.
Come off it. You used that superman is naive and trusting as a way that batman can beat him, and bp fanboys are delusional?
God, reading this thead and the one about most powerful comic book characters made me realize how much I hate majority of Marvel :]
Superman IS naive and trusting. The whole point of Superman's comics is that he's blessed with physical prowess in all ways, but he believes too much in people being naturally good. That's the whole point. That's the reason Lex Luthor exists.
Nevermind the fact that Batman works directly with Superman all the time and probably knows stuff that no one else knows. Black Panther's 'studying' of Silver Surfer would be entirely second hand.
-Batman is written more inconsistently than Panther. Bottom line, as the characters are currently constructed, Panther would curbstomp Batman if neither character benefits from plot retardation.Fanboyism aside, let's not boil down all Bat Stories as to him being invincible and protected by plot armor. Bats actually has a longer and more storied publishing history which is a testament to that. BP doesn't even come anywhere close to that.
Batman beating supes is never believable.
He glitched a room in order to trap mephisto. Ones preparation isn't lesser than the other. The only difference is that bp probably doesn't have a record of of powers and weaknesses of all his allies.
Excluding DC Vertigo I'd say the same about DC characters. Some of the newer DC stuff has been better from what I hear but those characters always seemed dull as shit to me.

-That has nothing to do with the head to head versus comparison this topic is supposed to be about. I'm sure there are other factors that go into that as well (date of creation, cultural relevance, rogue's gallery, race).
-First they fight
-Then they realize they're both good guys and should get along
-They fuck the guy who tricked them into fighting each other up HARD
-HIGHFIVE
Consistency ? yeah if being consistently dull is a plus, then BP hands down.
I can agree with this to an extent. Batman in the greater DC universe sucks to me. I don't like the X-Men as part of the greater Marvel universe.I don't like DC too, only Batman pretty much and Vertigo. To be honest, the thing I hate most about both of those universes is that they are shared universes. I like reading about Batman, Spiderman or Daredevil as long as I can pretend they exist in their own separate universes.
Hahah why did he originally join the Avengers again?
edit
*cough*
and the Illuminati?
Why get salty about it? This is a thread about two guys fighting. Also his strength and speed are a major advantage over Batman. And I suppose Batman's really exciting in that you never know what you're gonna get. He'll kick the shit out of Darkseid in one issue, then get his shit pushed in by a bank robber in another.head to head Bats loses against most creations. the edge BP would have would be his vibranium. He would hardly curbstomp Bruce.

Batman, because batman is white and that would be more realistic... according to some comicbook fans, as Dwayne Mcduffie explains:

I thought the same thing. Looks like it was drawn on a tablet but then just colored using a basic photoshop or something. Batman's art looks like he has random stripesThat black panther artwork in the OP looks like something off of Deviantart, the coloring at least.

Why does Black Panther have better strength or speed than Batman? Sounds like Batman was established as the 'mold' for the non-super super heroes, and the writer of Black Panther just decided 'yeah well. ..T'challas better!'
That's pretty much what Marvel does. Most of those copies are forgotten, some end up being better than the DC version.
Just try and see how many Batman and Superman equivalents Marvel has.
Two. Crazy and black variants.
