Zone of the Enders HD is being developed by High Voltage Software (The Conduit)

Good lord, what's the matter with you guys? High Voltage is a solid studio. The SH HD fiasco won't happen again.

Maybe. It was Konami that refused to patch it. What happens if this game needs patched and they ignore it too? Buyer beware if a Konami game isn't called Metal Gear.

Armature waiting on High Voltage to finish, maybe? I dunno; transfarring materials for the PS3 version has been since removed, so who knows what's going on.

Yeah, I was actually thinking Armature may have needed to wait for HVS to complete the port. As for transfarring, I don't think it's the front of the box "Konami exclusive" kind of thing Kojima hoped for, given pretty much every Vita game with a matching PS3 SKU has save transfers. Of course the less optimistic option is that the Vita version has been canceled entirely.

I recently decided to purchase MGSHDC just for PW so I'm a little interested in how this turns out. This might be a good first test to see how HV handle HD game development. That one Left 4 Dead style game they had to cancel did look pretty fun.

Given the unhealthy nature of the current console industry, we need to give studios, willing to make physically distributed console games, as much leeway as possible. Konami probably didn't have a large amount of studio choices who were willing to do this port for the budget it needs to be done within. I'm actually glad that HV got this chance.

How is this not good?

A company known for porting games to different hardware is porting a game to different hardware.

They haven't done anything on PS3 yet, and there 360 showings have been displeasing to say the least. Not expecting a good port here.

Konami, If you fuck this up like the Silent Hill collection I'm gonna be pissed.........

THEY BETTER NOT LEAVE in DAT SLOWDOWN:(

speaking of slowdowns, I just started playing MGS3 HD on PS3. Beautiful looking game but the slowdowns are annoying!! The grenade effects bring the frame rate down to 10 FPS!! I wish they had locked the frame rate at 60 FPS.

It will be difficult to nail down the frame rate in ZOE2 collection, the game is extremely heavy on the particle effects.

Kinda worried for the port of ZoE now.
They make is sound like ZoE 2 was never released in the US. It was.

Well it was, but the refresh, Substance-style rerelease that hit Japan and Europe never came to the U.S. From wikipedia:

The "Special Edition" PAL and NTSC-J versions of the game featured a variety of additions and extras to the game, including new VR Training options, added scenarios, more difficulties, a music video featuring a remixed "Beyond the Bounds" theme, improved anti-aliasing and graphical optimizations, and new Orbital Frames for Versus Mode, among other improvements to the game.

Wait, maybe I'm not quite up to speed, but what does it mean, "never before released in the US" version of ZOE2?

Did the Japanese/Euro version of original have extra content?

I honestly would look it up, but I'm trying to go on a blackout since I've never played them.

yes, europe got a special edition with additional missions, new cutscenes, difficulties, improved graphics and optimized framerate

this version was also re-released in japan

As worried as I was about High Voltage making this, I really think this is going to end up just fine. Kojima has been tweeting pics from it for awhile now, and I'm sure he's keeping good tabs on it.

The Motorcycle That Wouldn't Slow Down
You'd think they were making ZOE 3 from all the kneejerk shit in here.

The problem is that pretty much every HD collection not made by Bluepoint had a blatant cock up in some regard. It ranges from something basic, yet ignorable such as not doing anything with the video cut scenes (Devil May Cry) to a complete and utter train wreck (Silent Hill). Either way, this news suggests the ZotE collection will be less than perfect, judging by past trends.

Lol what is wrong with this thread? It's a simple HD port done by a studio that at least have made their own engine. It's safe to assume they are good on technical stuff.

Good to hear they are still alive. Would be awesome if they would make The Conduit 3 for Wii U. The Conduits were solid games. They nailed the controls, the graphics shined.

Doesn't really matter much to me since the Rising Demo is still being developed by Platinum. lol

With all luck it will be hot garbage and Konami will give me a sealed copy of Shattered Soldier for my trouble

It will more than likely be perfectly fine for all intents and purposes.

a man can dream tho

Well.. the game will probably be less than perfect, but I don't see Kojima/Kojima's Team giving it to complete and utter fuck-ups like whoever handled the Silent Hill HD Collection, even despite ZOE's lesser popularity.

Do it the BluePoint Games way or go home and be a family man.

well even blue point are no magicians, sotc being 30fps only was a bummer

and if they can't get 60fps out of a more demanding ps2 game then we can assume the zoe collection will be much worse, probably sub 1080p,sub 60fps and no anti aliasing

Well, we don't know how High Voltage will do it, since we don't have any precedent.

But now I know is not gonna be a blind buy, so I'm not gonna get the game unless I see reviews and comparissons that the port is near perfect (at least)

People should look the positive side: at least is not Hijinx Studios.

HVG is technically sound but they will under deliver their games. since this is a port, I don't think they can screw it up... can they?
