Damn, I miss the 2D drawings.you'd rather have mario do it?
For a long time I criticized people who argued that Nintendo's games aren't for "mature" gamers. But that shit looks like it really is for babies. Mario has become ridiculious at how much it panders. How many fucking smiley faces and rainbow vomit of colors can we cram into one image? Dude bro grey and brown aesthetics are boring to look at but so is this.
And this comes from someone who loves Animal Crossing's aesthetic.
2 Nintendo games in 12 months (more or less) on the Game Informer cover? What is this?
Same here, the 3D art looks lifeless : /Damn, I miss the 2D drawings.
Man, would I wouldnt give for the awful main theme to be replaced with SMW/SMB 3 soundtrack remixes.
Nice cover.
Not really a fan of the new super art style. I hope this isn't the galaxy teams game
I like it. Definitely better looking than the old New SMB games.
Isn't this the 3rd Nintendo cover Game Informer's ever done, or something? One of them being Metroid Prime (3?) and the other being Skyward Sword? Or am I thinking of something else?
Assassins Creed 3 will demolish NSMB in sales. It won't be close.Black OPs 2 and NSMBU are the two biggest titles releasing this fall, like it or not.
For what it's worth, Iwata said that the younger staff primarily worked on New SMB 2 while the veteran staff is handling New SMB U.

That squirrel Toad is so cute!
Damn, I miss the 2D drawings.
One side is trying WAY too hard to be "mature"
and other other is trying WAY too hard to be cute.
Either side is coming off naturally.

That Yoshi doesn't look very good. Poor thing needs some pepto bismol.

The last one before SS was Metroid Prime, I believe. As the OP stated, they had a Mario cover 16 years ago (presumably Mario 64.)
They've done more than that if you go all the way back to when they first started. But I think 2004 is when they started landing major exclusives, and since then they've only had three Nintendo games on their cover (this would be the third).
In 1999 and pre-1999 they did a lot of them. After that I think it's Prime 2, Skyward Sword, and some special sprite covers.
I can't f-ing wait. In the last 20 years we got only one console mario game. Thats a bit crazy to me.
Yeah, it's not like New Super Mario Bros. games ever sell that much anyway.Assassins Creed 3 will demolish NSMB in sales. It won't be close.
No shit, one of these games releases on 3 different consoles, the other one on a recently launched one.......
Thats not GTA 5. Dont care for Wii U.

No game title on the cover? no one will know what it is

You say no shit but there's people arguing that it will be one of the biggest games of the year, even though it's releasing on a console that currently has 0 units sold.
Clearly they'll all be buying Assassin's Creed III.Everyone who buys a Wii U for the next five years is going to buy New Super Mario Bros. U.(Yes, I know you were being sarcastic.)
In all fairness, if the sales of NSMB DS are any indicator then it will actually be the biggest game of the years.Derrick01 said:You say no shit but there's people arguing that it will be one of the biggest games of the year, even though it's releasing on a console that currently has 0 units sold.
